This is comfortable the size 6 was, ie 37 was way to large. I have a narrow foot and this was just so large. I also was not too thrilled with the look of the shoe.

Very comfortable with a lot of support.

I was so disappointed these didn't work out for me - years ago (20+ years ago!) I had a pair and they were wonderful. Fit my feet, lasted forever. This time I ordered a size up to account for the changes in my feet over the years, but it was instantly clear that they weren't going to work. Way too wide, but one of my toes still hits the front, so I know that a smaller size will not work for me. Sorry to have to return them, because I love the support of the cork footbed. Will see if maybe Naot has something similar that I can use as slippers as they make a variety of lasts, including for narrower feet. Did I mention Zappos delivered these to my doorstep WITHIN 24 hours of placing my order? How do they do that!? Fantastic, thank you, Zappos!

Such good quality and natural materials. I like that. The fit was spot on and my regular size fits. Wide enough to accommodate my bunions.But the footbed is just too hard and actually hurt the soles of my feet at times. I tried them indoors for several days, thinking maybe the footbeds would soften, but they never did. Sadly I will return them.

So I've had these for 2 1/2 year now. Both my wife and I bought a pair, and while we had to return for different sizes, the final pairs fit perfect AND yes, they will stretch out a bit which is key when you think they maybe are just a little too snug with socks on. We wear them almost always with socks since we transition immediately out of street shoes into these without fail. Postive: They are so comfortable. They are very very good at supporting the arch and actually feel almost better then going barefoot in the house or even sitting. They are essentially boiled wool so they are very warm but I still where them in the summer since you can't been the comfort and support, especially since we have wooden floors. They look good. It's the nordic look for sure. They have nice cork bottoms so they really provide cushion for your feet. Negative: Well after two years they really started to fail. As people noted, they began to tear away at the seams (the wool separated from the cork) and the wool started to get holes on the top where the toes are. The cord also cracked. I would advise buying cork preserver and applying in regularly to your shoes to keep the cork from drying out in the winter and cracking. So after 2 1/2 years they are acceptable for walking around the house but look terrible. As they are expensive, it's a shame to have to replace them soon but I must say I wear them every day inside and can't do without them.

Narrow.

If you have a narrower foot, forget this shoe. It is extremely generous. Very wide. Haflinger does not sell felt insoles, according to the Haflinger website and customer service.

This is my third pair of the Haflinger Grizzly. Obviously I like them. I wear them every day year round in the house so that my plantar fasciitis is not irritated. With that being said I am a solid women's size 8. I have always ended up with the size 38 in the Haflingers. This year they fit a little different. The right shoe is running a bit smaller than past years. I probably should have ordered another 38 and it would have been fine. Will continue to buy in the future.

39 was too Large for me. I have a wider forefoot and narrow heel. Normally wear an 8M in most casual shoes but an 8.5 (saucony running shoes) These would be fine if I wanted to run around town... wearing thick socks in them. Firm traction. Like them- but returning as too big and I really don't want to wear socks in my slippers. Definitely more like shoes- good combination

I really really really wanted to like these! Based on reviews they sounded like exactly what I was looking for. I normally take a 37 in European sizes, so I ordered that, but also a 38 since many people seemed to think they ran small. 38 was huge, but 37 was also too big by a lot. I sent both back for a 36. This fit better, but was still very loose and floppy. I think that is the nature of the beast, and that was fine, as I don't want a tight shoe for around the house. However, the rock hard arch made my feet hurt so much, I just couldn't do it. People say they break in after a couple days, but I can't see that huge, hard arch changing much. For this much money, I could not take a chance on them 'softening up' after a few days. they are light weight, warm, and comfy....except for that. I am so disappointed they did not work. Back to shoe quest 2017! :(

The fit & size are good. Only problem I have is they're not warm enough for me.

I love these shoes! I am replacing a pair I bought about 10 years ago. Yes, 10 years ago! I really only wear them around the house so there is not a lot of wear and tear on them. I have very high arches and as age sets my feet at times can feel a bit painful. I put these on and my feet are pain free! I love them and wish they came in more styles. The new pair of 39s are a bit larger than my last pair.

The arch support in these slippers (?) is outstanding! I originally received a pair of Ugg slippers for Christmas and loved the soft comfy lining, however, they had little support and said lining began to wear off within two weeks of wearing them. (And was completely gone in the heels after 3 weeks, but that's a different story...) Anyway, I returned the Uggs & ordered these... same price point. They're not as cozy as the Uggs, but they support my feet so much better. If someone could please combine the soft Ugg-type lining with the arch support in these Halflinger's, it would be the PERFECT slipper!

I love these Haflinger Classic Grizzly Clog/Slipper! I am writing this review after wearing these shoes indoors regularly for the last year. These have great arch support. They are warm but not too warm and have not stretched out at all! The cork lower has a few superficial cracks where your foot bends but the shoe itself hasn't lost its strength because of it. I will be buying these shoes for indoor and occasional outdoor use for the rest of my life!

I only wish the cork matched the color of the shoe.

Love these shoes. Had them when I was younger and so happy to be able to have them again. Would have given 5 stars but the sole separated from the shoe within a few days on wearing them. Zappos was amazing and sent me a new pair within 2 days. Unfortunately the sole has separated again after several months of wear- must be a glue issue. Not too big of deal but he older ones lasted for years without this problem. Overall I still love them and wear them everyday.

Bought these for house slippers to help with arch problem. Very supportive and no longer have arch problem. A bit stiff to start with, but will probably loosen with time.

Run large and a bit wide. I wear a women's 9/9.5 and the 40's where too big, especially with no socks.went with the giesswein true to size and snugger fit.

I love these shoes and will eventually buy another pair in another color. They are well made and feel wonderful. I think the shoe runs large. I ordered the smallest size but it is a bit too large. I wear the shoes with two pairs of socks and that does the trick.

I had high hopes for these as house shoes, but could not get the fit right. I wear an 8.5 in most shoes, sometimes a 9 in a running shoe, so I ordered the 39 (size 8). They were huge. Zappos quickly sent me a 38. Too short for my 2nd toe. I guess these are not made for long-toed girls. Bummer.

I am replacing an 10 yr old pair of Halfinger clogs, same style and in size 38. I am a US size 8. The sizing info says that a US size 8 should get the 39 so I got the 39. Unfortunately, it was way too big (even with thick socks I had a huge toe box and had a half of inch in the back) and had to get to the UPS store to return. I don't have narrow feet, either. But the design of these is a big improvement on my ancient pair I was replacing- the textured sole is a big improvement.

The Haflinger slippers seem to be well made they are comfortable my only complaint is that the band around the top is tight. My feet swell at times. I think as I wear the slippers more the cork will compress and give me more room. So far I am pleased with them.

I bought these about a year or two ago. I love them, they're wonderful, don't get me wrong. I have "bad" feet and can't really walk around the house barefoot as a result. I bought a 40 (am a size 9 normally) and although I don't remember how they fit at first (I might have stretched them out by wearing socks with them in winter) but now they're huge. I want to order another pair because these are now (that it's summer and too hot to wear them with socks - they're so warm already) too big, but don't know if I should go down a size. If anyone has thoughts, I'd be most appreciative.

Excellent quality. The soles are solid, not cushy, perhaps like a Birkenstock. These are a great shoe/slipper solution.
