I am in love. I have ogled the boots that girls with thin legs have been sporting for the past, what, 10 years? I am a stylish gal, but I have got some chunky legs (I get them from my grandmother, thanks so much). I was hesitant to purchase these at the price, but I somehow miraculously found a pair of boots from one of them big box places a few years ago that I wore completely through. I figured, if I could wear these as much as I wore those, my cost per use would be worth the upfront cost. So I took the plunge and my oh my, I feel like I can take on the world. They are still a little tight if I was to wear jeans tucked into them, but with leggings or tights, no problem. Ladies, if you have not had boots that fit before, these are your solution. Give them a try, you will not regret it. The first day I wore them, I walked to a party that was a mile away. Bad idea on my part as Fryes always have a bit of a break in period, but since those initial blisters have healed up, they have just been a delight.

Gorgeous and fits my 17.5" calf. The leather is thinner than boots like the engineer or harness, but that didn't bother me seeing how perfect they are in every other way. Low heel still looks hot. Brown is a nice color, muted with slight distress but still classy. More colors, please.

I just received these in the mail today. I LOVE these boots! Ladies, if you are struggling to find tall boots that fit athletic calves, look no further. I ordered the cognac in the regular width, and found that while I could get them on, there was no slouch. I returned them the next day and ordered the wide calf in the dark brown. The boots are a gorgeous dark brown with some slight variations in color, adding to their rich look. My only wish is that there were other colors to choose from in the wide calf style besides brown and black. I find they run very true to size. I wear a size 7 in all shoes and boots, and a 7 1/2 in athletic shoes. I ordered these in a 7 and very glad I did not go up a half size. If the cost is deterring you, get over it. These boots are well worth the money and the quality is readily apparent.

I am in love! I have never owned a pair of Tall Frye boots. These are perfect - so happy! Dare I splurge to have them in black too?

To my dismay these boots actually did fit my 17" calf. Incredible because I have returned about 6 pairs of other brands that didn't fit at all. These are gorgeous boots. Even though the leather is soft I think they are well made and will last with minor upkeep. The foot bed is very comfortable. It's a versatile look, highly recommended. I came right back for the other color! I hope Frye widens their line of wide calf boots. Gorgeous!

Finally! A boot that fits my calves properly! These boots are wonderful. The leather is so soft, I just want to keep touching it. These definitely live up to their name, the quality is worth every penny. I was worried about these fitting, as I have about a 17.5" calf. These fit with room to spare. I've been wearing them with tights, but I think even a pair of skinny jeans would fit with no problem. Keep in mind as others have said that the bigger your shoe size the bigger the calf circumference will be, I wear a size 11 so I'm sure the calf size of my boot is bigger than a smaller footed lady. I usually don't spend over $100 for shoes, but I am so glad I bought my Veronicas, no buyer's remorse here.

Just got these boots today so can't speak to durability, but they are beautiful and I already love them! I'm a size 9 (occasionally 8.5 in flats) with 17" calves so finding quality boots that fit has been a nightmare. I've been dreaming of Frye boots for years but given the price I was never willing to take the risk. The reviews for the Veronica slouch wide calf finally gave me hope, so I pulled the trigger. So glad I did! Bought these in my usual 9 and they fit perfectly in foot and calf. I was a little worried they would be too short, and they aren't really knee high, but I'm only 5'4" so this is not a problem. Planning to love them for years to come.

I have 16.5 inch calves and have been looking for tall boots that fit around them for years. These are great -- I can even fit jeans inside them. I am typically a 9.5 and a pretty wide foot, and although I have a size 10 in the Frye Harness boot, these have a wider toe box and the 9.5 fits perfectly. Very comfortable!

I ordered the wide calf veronica slouch in 7 and a 7.5. the shaft was plenty wide for my 16.5" calves but the toe box was not wide enough for my 6.5 EE foot. Sadly they went back. they truly are a fantastic boot with exceptional quality. Hopefully Frye will come out with a true wide footbed and wide calf.

Love this boot! You can just feel the quality when you pull it out of the box! So nice to be able to find a boot with an extended calf! I wish more boot styles would allow for a larger calf. For once I can wear all the fall styles I love but haven't been able to wear due to boots that don't fit! Did extensive walking in them last weekend and only had minor rubbing on one part of the back of my leg. My fault though, I was only wearing ankle socks. Had I worn a longer sock there would have been no problem. Go with your true shoe size, anything else will either be too big or small. Thank you Frye for making these great boots!

Love is in the air, every time I look down! These are everything everyone said they were! Shockingly expensive for me, but worth it. Had to get a half size smaller. The 9 was top big in the heel. Fit my chubby calves and don't look weird!

Absolutely love! I used to be a ballet dancer & soccer player so my calf muscles are a little larger and most boots don't fit right...these, however, are great! Comfortable too!

Got the boot's and I love them. I have muscular calves they measure between 16 to 17". Finally I have found a pair of Frye boot's that actually fit like they said they would. will be able to tuck leggings, jeans in without a problem. Color is awesome will look even better when they've been beat up a bit.

These boots are great! I got these for the slouch look and they are awesome. I own them in both black and brown, and I think it was a great investment. I do wish they were maybe an inch taller but I love them too much to keep worrying about that! If you are thinking about buying these, just do it! You won't regret it!

I absolutely love these boots. I have always had a problem with boots fitting over my calfs, these fit perfectly with room to spare! If anyone is doubting if the boots fit the more athletic calf, they will! I also bought them in brown, and I cannot wait for fall!

This boot is a rarity - it's both high quality and actually fit around my wide calves! I had to return the first pair because they ran large, but now that I've got the smaller pair I'm set. Not the most feminine style, but they're definitely a classic style and I'll be wearing them for a long time to come.

My first pair of Frye boots, and I'm not disappointed! I always have trouble with boot shafts, but these work wonderfully for athletic calves. I haven't yet worn them for a considerable period of time (it's still summer!), so I can't attest to how they'll feel or hold up over time. Visually, they're gorgeous. The color is very rich and as pictured, and the slouchiness is exactly what I was looking for. I have tried them on with both leggings and skinny jeans, and am loving what I'm seeing so far. In terms of sizing, I usually wear an 8.5/9, but tend to go for 9 in boots because I have a wider foot. The extra half size was a good call for these. If you're like me, I think you'll appreciate the larger size. In conclusion, BUY THESE BOOTS!

Yes, these are true to size like most buyers rated but the toe box is stiff which made my feet hurt and impossible to wear thin socks. I went up a half size for comfort and now, whew, they feel really good (with light socks). These boots, although slouchy, also make my wide 16 inch calves look narrower. BTW, THANK YOU FRYE for making a wide calf boot. Us poor ladies stuck by birth with wide calves have too much trouble finding tall boots that fit (and look cool). I really love Frye and will always go to Zappos for the incredible service they provide.

They're Frye so obviously they are extremely well made but it's really the versatility and comfort of these boots that shine. Comfort: For starts, the leather on the calf is buttery soft, ultra comfortable and makes them a breeze to get on and off. This is really important to me since I have plenty of boots, (Hunters, other pairs of Frye even), that give me a serious workout every time I try to pull them off. Versatility: These boots tuck under or pull over jeans equally well. I've never had a pair I could say that about. Ordered 9.5 since I usually wear a 9 and like to have a little room for thicker socks with boots and this worked well. Would buy again in a heartbeat.
