I bought this jacket as my warm layer to stash in my pack on cold touring days...but I like it so much that it is rarely stashed...It's my new "go to" jacket. It is the perfect weight for staying cozy, yet very light so easy to bring everywehere, and stylish enough to wear anywhere.

I bought this jacket for walking around town in Montana where it's very cold in the winter. It ended up being my go to jacket for almost everything. It packs up super small so I use it to warm up when stopping while back-country skiing as it works great with my layering system. The hood makes all the difference in staying warm. I love the double seams on the inner pockets. Mine are always stuffed with hat and glove. I also use this jacket for curling when the ice arena is super cold. As far as improvements go I suggest easier to use zipper pull (for use with gloves).

I have owned this jacket for 4 years and it is still my go-to down jacket. I have climbed against granite and put this jacket through the ringer and it only has 1 small hole. I would recommend this jacket for anyone who is looking for a warm, lightweight, and durable down jacket.

This is now my "go to" jacket for cool weather. Warm and compact, it is a good one to hike with. It doesn't take up much room in my backpack and is easy to compact. I am small- boned, 5' 2" and weigh 120 lbs. The size small fits me well, except I would prefer a little more room at the hips when it is zipped. My hips are 37" and it is snug but not tight. However, with winter layers, it may be too snug.

I've had this jacket in black for about a month and found that it is perfect for temps between about 25-45 degrees F. It's the perfect extra layer to throw in the pack for long backcountry ski days, or for hanging around camp during cool-weather backpacking or paddling trips. The Aria also has an exceptionally flattering and functional cut for athletic women. I'm 5'7", 135# with a relatively small upper frame, and size Medium is perfect - a tad roomy, with just enough room to throw this on over a fleece.

Super light, perfect for layering, backpacking, belaying, and everything else. AWESOME warranty. When I had an issue with mine, the return and replacement was super easy. Easy to wear over or under other things, and great on it's own.

I got this jacket in the Apple Green and I just love it. It keeps me very warm on dawn patrol dog walks (thank you hand warmer pockets!), backcountry ski jaunts, en route to work. I get a lot of compliments from all sorts of people too, from steazy skiers to old school loggers. It's really bright and cheery, which is great on grey gloomy days. It's a well-thought out, lightweight, warm jacket that transitions well from work to play.

I have been super impressed with this jacket. I bought it last year, one of my first OR winter wear purchases, and I love it. Down has stayed puffy, the color is great, it's warm but packable, nice details. Hood is really nice and the balance b/t performance and style is really perfect. Can't recommend highly enough. I am 5'9, 130, and the M is a great fit.

I wore this jacket on many adventures but during Raid the North Extreme my team had to sleep up on a ledge of a mountain in BC at about 10,000+feet and between my jacket, my teammate, and my bivy I stayed warm throughout the night. I also wore this jacket on a recent 100 mile endurance run -The Bear 100 Endurance Run - in Logan, Utah. Temps in the night dropped down to 23 degrees and this jacket kept me warm throughout the wind, snow and ice and a top ten female finish. I love it and highly recommend it.

This jacket made its way to my closet last year. Since then I have had it winter hiking, a snowshoeing, skiing, as well as bitter cold walks on the beach and around town. I have found the two large pockets inside the jacket ideal for water and the inner zipping pocket for keys, cellphone, iPod or GPS pretty handy. I have also had many compliments on this jacket. I think the only improvement I would make is to add another inner pocket for things you dont need all of the time, but that is a minor thing for the best jacket my closet has seen.

This jacket is so warm & comfortable, I have two of them. I have one specifically for sporting activities and one for casual outings. I live in this jacket. I have the vest, too and absolutely love it.

One of my top choices in the Outdoor Research women's line. It is the most versatile insulation layer that I own. It is small and light enough to stuff and clip onto my harness when ice climbing, warm enough to belay in when I can't afford to bring any more bulk, and light enough to wear over or under my climbing shell on really cold days. The fit is athletically superb: wide in the shoulders and upper back area, tapering perfectly at the waist.

Living in Canmore, I see just about every woman walking around with one of these jackets on. They are a versatile and good looking lightweight hoody that is perfect for getting around town. With a ton of pockets, great variety of colors, and a comfy fit, I find myself wearing mine daily. I have also used it a ton as an emergency layer in the summer on rock multipitches and in the alpine because it is so lightweight. Despite all my packing, shoving and squishing, the jacket is really holding up. I think due to the copius stitching however, occasional feathers flee the jacket:)

I bought this jacket for my ever-hip, ever-picky wife, and she loves it. The jacket is always in our pack and car on almost every outing. It is lightweight and packs down and the best thing she was stoked on is that the jacket does not have that overly-puffy look.

I wore this back country skiing in -20 and couldn't imagine doing it again without this piece of kids. It was warm and repelled light snow with no issues.
There are no issues with leaking feathers.
I loved that OR sent me info on how to look after my new down jacket.
My only wish is that all the zippers had zipper pulls. It's tough to get into the pockets with gloves on.

Very lightweight, this jacket comes with me on nearly every missions. I only leave it at home when I go for winter camping or cold Canadian winter day when I need extra warmth. Perfect for town stroll, hiking, skiing, rock and ice climbing I'd be keen to try the Sonata for a more trim fit but my Aria is still holding on after 3 years of extensive use and only one little patched puncture.

a light down jacket that aclimatizes year 'round for our high altitude cool summer nights, stuffs well for backpacking and hiking, suits crisp autumn weather, full-on winter excursions and damp spring chill.

This coat is perfect if you want a light weight coat that is packable and really warm. I wear this coat every single day at my job. I work at a school and do outdoor adventures with kids. I love the hood and will never buy another down coat without one. The con is that it tears easily. I have many puncture wounds from picking up wood, brushing up against a tree or nail. The fabric is very delicate. This is also not for rain at all. It is ok in a light drizzlel but will be soaked very shortly. I am looking to buy this same coat again!

My wife uses this coat more than any other, and she owns alot of coats. Her only gripe is that the zippers don't come with big enough pull tabs. For a coat designed to be used in cold weather, it should be more glove compatible. The OR lotus flower has rubbed off, but that is of no real consequence. This would get a 5 star rating if the zippers were upgraded. In true OR Fashion, an otherwise great buy.

This is a great fitting and great looking jacket, but it's been incredibly annoying that it constantly looses feathers. My jacket has thinned out and always leaves whatever I'm wearing underneath it covered in feathers. If the quality of the material was a little better and this coat didn't "leak," I'd probably give it 5 stars.

A great warm layer to throw on during a cold day rock climbing, or during a rest break in the alpine. I also bring it along for ski tours, nice to have a light weight warm jacket to take wherever your adventure take you.

I love the fit and look of the jacket. However, the jacket is constantly losing feathers....very annoying. I wear the jacket everyday for a number of activities. (x-crountry skiing, snowboarding, hiking & skating) This is my second year using my jacket and I know it won't last much longer....:(((
