The good: these boots are super cute and light, plus they run a bit narrower than the other Sorels I tried this year, which is a good thing for my very narrow feet. The not-so-good: the fur at the top is matted-looking and cheap. I compared it to the Joan of Arctics and this fur is horrible in comparison. The boots have very little support in the footbed and I'm concerned that they would not be very warm. The insulation seems very thin and they just seem like the cheaper, thinner cousin to the Joan of Arctic and the Cate the Great... not nearly as heavy-duty, and made more for looks than for snow and cold. The deal-breaker was that when I walked in them, they creased at my Achilles tendon and were painful very quickly. They had to go back.

After almost a decade in Minnesota, I finally decided to invest in a pair of proper snow boots. I ordered both the Tofino and Joan of Arctic to compare styles. The Tofino won by a landslide. I have no doubt that the Joan is warm, but the Tofino is so much more practical for daily use. It is literally half as wide, and rather than clonk around, it is much easier to walk in. For me, these boots will primarily be used to walk to and from bus stops/home/downtown office, and so far, in the few opportunities I've had this warm winter to wear them, they have been stellar. I am a 7.5 - 8; ordered the 8 which is not too big, but will fit thick socks.

I've been searching for a couple months for a boot that was a little taller, less bulk in the foot, waterproof, and warm. This boot is it! I tried them on with a thick pair of ski socks and my feet were so hot I had to take them off after about 10 minutes! It's not cold or snowy yet but based on that I'm sure they will be warm and hoping for waterproof, too! They look nice and I was able to tuck my jeans in them. Easy to get on/off. I will agree with others to order a half size larger in this boot. I did and they fit perfectly! Very comfortable, no break-in and no "hot spots" of discomfort. Can't wait to try them in the snow!

Firstly I want to say I love Sorel boots. I think the quality is excellent. My first pair were the Caribou but as my feet grew post having kids, the 6 did not fit me anymore. Last year I tried to get the Joan of Arctic and the 7 were huge (duck feet looking too) and the 6 too small. I was therefore so excited to find the Tofino came in half sizes so ordered the 6.5. Just received them and I'm afraid to say they are too small. They are more narrow than the Joan of Artic so I don't think going up a half size will make them look to huge on my feet. They are probably true to size but I feel with winter socks I needed more wiggle room for my toes. Love the boots otherwise so I'm quickly getting the bigger size before the weather gets colder and they run out!

Size up! This style runs very narrow for Sorel and works for my narrow flat feet. I recommend sizing up at least .5 size. I sized up a whole size (10-11) to make room for super feet arches and winter socks. The insole of these boots is hard and flat within a few wears, so I added the super feet right on top. The shaft is shorter than the Cate the Great, and the style isn't as interesting, but the fit is comfy, low bulk, lightweight and warm. (I'm 5'2 at 120 lbs, typical size 10.) Giving 4 stars because without the insert the footbed has zero cushion and zero support.

Got the Chili Red & they are so gorgeous. Love the color scheme. I'm excited to wear these this winter. Very comfortable and fits well on my wide calf.

Thankfully I ordered these just in time for a freak October snowstorm in NYC. While splashing through snow and slush my feet stayed warm and dry. In addition to being lightweight the tread on the bottom makes for easy walking. Other than the faux fur shedding a little bit I am very happy with my purchase.

The Sorel Tofino is a great quality boot! Very happy with the look, fit and materials. However, get a 1/2 size bigger than your usual, they run small with this particular style. With a thicker sock you need the extra room.

I absolutely love these boots. I did order a 1/2 size up, after reading other reviews, and am glad I did. I usually never have to do this. The shaft is closer fitting than most winter boots but they look great. Also I find them very comfortable and no problem with the arch support and I have problem feet. I saw reviews commenting on how uncomfortable they were and I was a bit worried. I saw that I could have saved some money afterwards at another site but Zappos got them to me so quickly (I ordered Friday or Saturday and got them Monday) for no cost that I don't even care about the discount. These are really fun and warm. Chili pepper red is a deeper red and not as orangy as they look in some images.

Once again, Zappos is the bomb! Although most of the reviews read "true to size", it was a mixed bag in the actual summary, where most indicated to order a half size up. So, I ordered my usual size (7.5), and as soon as I got them, I called customer service and zappos sent me out the size 8 to compare. Well, I have to say they are true to size, even with thick socks. The half size up were just too big, and my foot moved around, and they bunched up. I have plenty of room in the 7.5, and they feel simply ah-maze! I teetered between the black and the red, but the red seemed more limiting with my wardrobe. Love the black. And, now that Rachel Zoe has picked the Sorel Tofino as a fave, I am sure they will be hard to get. Looking forward to a lot of snow with these boots. Bring it, Mother Nature.

I just received these in the mail a few days ago and I'm so excited! I got the red ones, and as someone mentioned in another comment, the red isn't so bright as it is deep. If you look at the Torfino on Sorel's website the color is more true to what it looks like in person. In regards to size, I usually were an 8-9 in women's, depending on the style. I ordered an 9.5 in these and they fit great! I have flat, wide feet, and they fit snug against the sides in a very comfortable way, and there's about 3/4 of an inch in front of my toes for wiggle room when the weather gets really snowy and chilly. I tried them today for the first time walking around and they're super comfortable and very warm. Also, surprisingly lightweight! A great, great winter boot!

Love! The black ones are really cute too but couldn't justify two pair. I'm a true 6.5 and the 7 fit perfect. A little lighter and less bulky than some others.

I love these boots. They are a replacement for a pair of Sorel boots I bought 20 years ago. These boots are great for both city and country use. I buy them a full size larger so I can wear them in the coldest weather with both silk liners and heavy socks. I have totally flat feet, so I add my own orthotics. These boots accommodate them well.

I have a normal width foot and I found these boots to be way too narrow - the cut in on the outside of both feet. Just standing with my foot next to the boot, I could tell that my foot was wider than the boot itself. Because of the material, this boot will not stretch out. I wear a 9.5 and ordered a 10. The length was fine. Also the back of the boot cut into the back of my ankle area immediately. My calf is kind of big so I think my big calf made the boot crease under the calf, above my heel. This also made the boot a no-go for me. Also, no arch support at all - it is a very flat boot and the toes curl up a little.

These boots will keep your feet warm! When it is icy I slide all over the place in these although I thought the massive tread would help somewhat. I love the top of the boot but the foot part looks like too much of a sneaker for me. I read the reviews and ordered a size up (which is the size 12) and I look like I'm wearing clown shoes. My feet are almost to the end of the size 12 and I usually wear a 10 1/2-11 so these do run small. Overall a good shoe just not really my style I guess.

Best pair of boots! Comfy, warm and cute. I used these hiking in Western New York and they worked out great!

These boots are well worth the money! Living in Chicago, it can get pretty cold and these boots keep my feet nice and toasty -- plus they have a great traction on the bottom for when it gets icy. I am a size 8.5 and that is what I purchased and they fit me perfectly. Definitely recommend these cute boots!

This is a great boot. Warm, comfortable, and has been made with quality. The style is phenomenal! What a gorgeous looking pair of winter boots! However, if you're looking to purchase these, go a half size up. And if you have wide feet, these aren't for you. The foot is narrow, but works out for me since mine are not wide. Overall I would recommend this boot!

Love this boot! I've gotten many compliments--and from men, who are not always interested in footwear. I purchased the Chili Pepper and I could not be more pleased. It's a beautiful red and the black laces contrast nicely. There isn't any doubt that these are highly quality boots, everything is done in great detail. I will definitely buy this boot and the brand in the future.

Best boots ever. I got the chili pepper/black combination, and they are beautiful, stylish boots! These boots are amazingly warm and light weight with a cushioned footbed and water-proof exterior. I absolutely love them. I've only worn them three times, and have gotten multiple compliments each time. I usually wear a 7.5 or 8, and I purchased these in an 8 and they're perfect.

Lightweight and comfortable, I ordered a half size up to accommodate slightly thicker socks.

These boots look great and haven't had a chance to test them in the snow yet, but they fit perfectly and, importantly, are super light. I have to do a lot of walking in my commute, and I'm looking forward to using these light boots all winter.

Best boot purchase I've ever made. Most comfortable shoes I've ever walked in. I wear them from 8-4pm all day walking class to class. Never gotten any blisters from them!

These boots are very comfortable, warm and adorable, so many people get interested in these boots. My daughter eagerly await a snowy day. I bought a Tofino black,size 5½. It is same with photo and the size fits well (Korean size is 230). These boots will keep my daughter warm and I am very happy with my purchase.
