This is the best coat ever! This was way more than I would normally spend but I could not be happier that I did buy it. It is not bulky or hard to move around in and will keep you warm.

This is the best long down coat ever! I'm a guy and really love down coats, but there just ain't good long ones around - so I purchased this - it's looks great on (I've had loads of compliments), it's super warm - just fantastic.

Love this jacket! So comfy and warm! Perfect length to wear over long sweaters or tunics, even short dresses with tights and boots. Love the fleece lined pockets and interior (only the torso portion, as noted on another review). My only semi-complaint is that it is close to being too warm, but trust me, I'm not complaining! I live in Texas so I'm not accustomed to the cold and do not like it, so this coat came in very handy in Paris in November! Marmot did not disappoint!

I wanted to like this, but alas, I felt like I was wearing a sleeping bag. There wasn't enough shape to it - I'm 5'5", and it came down to my knees with no waist definition. I think it would have helped to have a belt.

I love this coat...but I did not buy it. The outer fabric is very soft; it feels like silk. I loved the color and especially loved the micro fleece lining - very soft and warm. Pockets, zipper, hood were all fine. (Yes, as others have said, the faux fur trim on the hood is a bit cheap looking; but no worse than anyone else's faux fur, in my opinion.) But the coat was too small for me in the hip and bust area. I ordered a Large (not my usual size, I'm really a medium) thinking it would fit, but I am short waisted, so the waist (which nips in on this coat) hit me in my hip area, where I need more room. The diagonal quilting makes it more stylish than other coats, but I think the fit is more for a taller, less curvy figure. Anyway, my curves zigged where the coat zagged. Thus, no sale. I tried about 10 or more coats, from North Face, Patagonia, Mountain Hardwear, and LL Bean. I feel this was the best by far - for quality and price; the fit just didn't work for me. Very disappointed.

Patagonia "Down With IT Parka"; maybe North Face

I thought the coat was made great. I liked the lining that came down over your wrists to keep them warm. I ordered this with two or three other coats to try. This coat ran small on me, so I kept the North Face but I will definitely keep an eye on the brand.

Arms are very long and wide. Torso was fine. Light weight. Didn't keep it because the arms made me look extra large compared to the down coats by North Face.

This jacket does not run small! I am 5'4" and 115. The xs was not even close to snug on me. The cut of the jacket is not bad for a petite person if you are not looking for something with a tailored cut. On me, the jacket hits just below the knee, which I like because it doesn't make me look too short. My two beefs with this item are that it is only 650 fill and I would have liked it in 750. (I'm not sure why, but it seems impossible to find a longer down coat in anything over 650.) I get cold! That's why I'm looking for a longer jacket! The other issue is that I would like a more fitted cut, which I think would work to keep me warmer. I just got this one in the mail today, so I'm not sure if I'm going to keep it yet.

I ordered this coat in black, size large. I'm 5'6, 150 pounds, and normally wear a size 10. I put this jacket on over a lightweight blouse and size 10 business suit and it was quite form-fitting, like a snug sleeping bag wrapped around me. It showed every bulge, and would have been too snug over jeans and a sweater. I liked the styling fairly well, but the fabric seemed a little flimsy so since I had to return it for an XL anyway, I had second thoughts and ended up with the North Face Arctic Parka instead. The Marmot is a nice coat, but the North Face has a slightly more substantial fabric while still having a nice drape and some feminine shaping.

In looking for a coat appropriate for hiking and being outside in the cold (40s+) I tried this coat in extra small, steel color. It was warm, sufficiently long and fit (I am 5'9", 112 pounds). But I am not in love and am continuing my search.

I ordered two of these (xs and s) and at 5'6" and 112lbs the xs is perfect. However the coat (s) are going back for two reasons. The marmot logo on the front of the black coat is stitched in grey and sticks out like a sore thumb. The coat would look much nicer if the logo was on the back of the neck. I hate advertising for companies. Secondly, I've had the coat for three weeks and already my clothing is covered in bits of down and feathers! While I expect this from a Target purchase, I don't expect it from this much from purchase, at least not in the first year. There are good things about this coat. The fleece lining, location of the pockets, the interior lining pocket and it feels warm, probably not -25* warm, but good enough to get me through the average winter in Cleveland Ohio.

When I opened the box I loved the look and feel of this coat. It was beautiful! But it ran so small. I am typically a size 18 which would be a 1X so I ordered the 2XL. (XL is usually a size 16) I was so disappointed. I returned the coat. The North Face Metropolis Parka 2XL fits so much better as it runs true to size.
