So I just received my Veronica Short boots in the mail this afternoon. I had, in a previous order bought this weather proof spray. When I applied it to my boots, as directed so on the bottle, it did very much so darken my boots only time will tell if as the boots "dry" the color will then again lighten or if the leather is ruined. Even though the bottle warns that "it may darken light leather", I have dark brown leather boots, that now look black. I have an e-mail in to the Frye company asking for answers or a new pair of boots if you do apply this spray to your Frye leather boots, I would recommend spraying a cloth FIRST and then applying the cloth to the leather boot. Applying the spray directly onto the boot is not something I recommend because it DOES NOT distribute evenly, it comes out a straight stream.

When I received my order, the top for the bottle was completely smashed in spite of the many layers of large bubble wrap. I emailed Frye and I have yet to get a reply.

HORRIBLE! It may darken light-colored leather. No...It will! Darken light color leather but 10 shades. It completely ruined my boots and am calling customer service and complaing. I'm in tears! I saved up forever to buy these boots.
