I love these boots! I have a bad back and I can wear them all day long. I can wear them dressed up or dress down. One of the best purchases on Zappos!

These boots are so beautiful but they just didn't work for me. They are super stiff and they seemed a little gappy at the ankle. I wanted them to fit because they are a really cool boot. The search continues.

These boots are great! They fit true to size. The color is really nice and unique. I had to get them stretched out just a little to fit around my calves. The more I wear them, the more comfortable they are. Love!

I have debated whether or not I should return these for a week now and think I will be returning them. They are exceptionally well-made, but there are some problems. The leather is stiff at the top and hits right below my knee (5'3 ). This causes any pants I try tucking in to bunch up and is also kind of uncomfortable (imagine something digging in right below your knee). I'm aware that with time the leather will get softer and will stretch causing this issue to fade, but I don't feel like wearing only tights with these boots till that time. Also, the color is NOT "antique black," it is most definitely a dark gray with a hint of black. The color was the most disappointing factor for me. As others have mentioned, my boots arrived with a thick chalk-like dust covering them. My first instinct was to immediately send them back, but after way too much elbow grease for the price of these pair of boots I was able to rub off most of this strange finish. Still, they are not black, don't look right with jeans/pants tucked in (yet), and are insanely difficult to get off. I have other Fryes, but these are way harder to get off. They are truly beautiful and if you like grayish-black then go for it!

Beware!. Circumference is 14 inches not 15 inches. The boot top does not fold over as the description says, and the shaft is very tall. The boot is beautifully made for very skinny calves on tall people. I am 5'3 but my calf is a 15 inches and these do not fit well.

Super cute boots. I have received lots o' compliments. Leather is a bit stiff and it is taking time to break in. Little tight in the toe box. Ouch. Love the distressed color. Super beautiful leather. Nice comfortable heel height. Will wear these forever and ever.

Love these boots! I struggle to find boots that don't swim around my thin calves (under 14") and these do the trick - still a little room with my skinnies on but not swimming. I was concerned about putting them on/taking them off based on my experience with the Frye Harness boot (my hubby has to pull them off so can't wear them if he's not going to be around that night). I was very pleasantly surprised at how very easy it was to put them on/take them off - slipped right on/off. The color is not as black as I was hoping for but they will still go with a ton of stuff. A keeper!

These boots are absolutely gorgeous. They are worth the money. The only bad things about them is that they are a tiny bit stiff and difficult to get on. Otherwise, they're great.

I just had to write a review for these boots... they are really incredible! I was looking for the perfect pair of flat black boots for the season (I think I tried about 8 different pairs) and these fit the bill perfectly. Not too casual, not to dressy, and very comfortable. They are taller than a lot of other boots - I am 5'3" and they hit just below my knee. I just love everything about them... and Zappos too! Great customer service, as always.

I bought these boots for my daughter and she LOVED them. She is 5’6” and the height of the shaft was perfect for her calves. She is able to tuck her jeans inside or wear them under her boot cut jeans. The picture doesn't even begin to showcase how beautiful these boots are. I am so in love that I may have to buy a pair for myself. They are breathtaking.

I just got my boots delivered. My first Frye boots ever. Fantastic! The weathered light brown color is fantastic. Love em!!!!

Frye boots are wonderful, and these were a great addition to my wardrobe. The sizing for me was a bit smaller than my other Frye's; I had to go up a 1/2 size, but then they were perfect. The fit is comfortable. The distressed, vintage leather is exactly what I was hoping for. They have a beautiful, high-quality look and feel. Originally I ordered both colors that were available to compare, and honestly they were indistinguishable from each other, and I kept the Cognac because it seemed a little darker.

These are my most favorite boots in the world. I have other Fryes and I love the quality. I saw the Paige Talls and intended on getting them. But then I saw these. I snatched them immediately and I am so thankful I did because there are only teensy sizes left. I wear a 9 but get my Fryes in 9½ so I can wear my thicker wool socks. These boots, in particular, are exceptionally comfortable. The sole is not cushioned but is remarkably easy wearing for hours of walking. I am a runner and was concerned about the snugness around my calves but these boots hug them. My skinny jeans slide right into the shaft and do not get hung up when I sit/stand. I just love them. I got the Vintage Cognac, which is a gorgeous tobacco color. There was bloom all over the boots when I got them and I have since buffed it off and the color is rich and perfect for fall. I highly recommend these boots.

Lovely boot - but, absolutely impossible to get on! I have kind of high arches and could not get my foot in the boot! They need a side zip for easier entry. Leather and style is great but, I have to send them back (and I do not think even a larger size would work either).

I own a pair of Frye boots (Melissa Button) in a very dark rich brown. Most comfortable flat boot I have ever owned. I recently ordered these in Tan Antique (On sale for a great price... um hello!). Grabbed these in the size 6 that worked perfectly before. These were much tighter and stiffer than my Melissa Buttons were. I run about 2.5-3 miles 5-7 days a week, so I have more athletic calf muscles, but I am also 5.1" 104 pounds (Very petite. Nowhere near overweight). I really, really liked this boot, so I squeezed into them and started walking around my carpeted area to see if they would possibly give me a little stretch. I have worn them for about 1hr a day for 2 days and they are becoming a little more giving, but I can tell this wearing in process will take a while. Keep in mind this is only for the calf of the boot. The toe box and arch are perfect. If the boot is too small for your actual foot, I would not recommend trying this. Get a larger size instead. I finally reached my decision. I am going to keep them and continue wearing them in. If I cannot wear them in enough, I will simply have them stretched at a shoe cobbler. Overall, these boots are beautiful. The finish is beyond my expectations! I wanted a little worn look on my boot purchase, but not too worn. These were perfect! Lucky they were on sale too! If all else fails, just go ahead and get them! Zappos return policy is amazing! Just be sure to only walk on carpeted surfaces and be gentle!

Love, love, love! I have these in Cognac - the colour is fabulously rich and deep. Also bought the Antique black, but returned because the colour is more like faded black and doesn't look good if paired with black clothing. I'm 5'8, calf 14.5, size 8.5 (8.5 fits true to size, same as all my other Frye boots). As a point of comparison, I also have the Paige Tall boots in Grey. These fit perfectly around the calf and they hit right below my knee. The overall fit is snug (calf, ankle and narrower foot) compared to the Paige's and they're ~1 inch taller. Need the pull tabs to get on, whereas I can just slide into the Paige's. Super comfortable all around, no breaking in required. I wear these with a variety of black dresses and hoodies - easy uniform. As always, Zappos makes the shopping experience ridiculously enjoyable. Oh, and the compliments I get aren't hard to receive either. Yay all around!

Just got these today...great service as always Zappos. I recently returned the Melissa Zip Backs which didn't work as the shaft of the boot was very narrow. My calves were like sausages in casing (14.5" calves). I didn't was to give on the Melissa style so I gave these a try. I was intrigued by the olive color, which looked brown with a tint of green on the computer, but are definitely green in person. The leather is very structured, unlike the Zip Backs which was thin and flimsy. I really wanted a pair of flat boots, but due to my highly arched feet, it's hard to find any that work. First of all, it is really hard to slide my foot into these. Boots with a small heel work better. These are really loose around the ankle. They don't seem to be the slouchy type since the leather is so sturdy. Great boots, just not what I'm looking for.

I love these! They are the perfect shade of brown, great casual yet classy, riding boots. I'm 5'3 and it does go all the way to the knee but slit in back makes it comfy. Ankles are fitted so your feet aren't sliding around. The circumference around the foot is narrow than any boot I've ever owned but hoping it'll stretch the more I wear them.

These boots are fantastic. They hit me right below the knee, which looks awesome with skirts and heigh waisted jeans. The color is unique, a sort of rich red that has a lot of depth. I got four complements on these boots (two from men!) when I wore them on the first days. Frye is awesome, they are not cheap but the quality and styling is superb.

I love these boots so much. I purchased these on sale in the Antique Olive color. I love them. I think the color is really interesting and goes with everything. They look well made and expensive. I love the look of them. I usually wear between a 7 and a 7½ - I went with the 7½ and that was a good choice. Now I can layer tights and knee socks and it is super cute. They are really tall though - these are the tallest boots that I can comfortably wear (I'm 5'4"). They do hit the inside of my knees when I climb stairs sometimes, but I am sure they will soften up. I actually like that they are stiff as they will hold up and look new for a long time. They are super beautiful, super comfortable, a completely worth it purchase. I know that I will wear them forever.
