This shoe is amazing. I honestly don't understand why it only has 3/5 stars. I've read reviews where people complain by saying the shoes are half a size off, the arches are too high, and the width is off. Allow me to blast through all that! I wear a 9.5, and after reading other reviews I almost got 10's, but I decided to go with my gut and got a 9.5. No other shoe have fit me so perfectly. My foot is of average width, and the shoe still fits fine. The arch isn't uncomfortable at all. These shoes are racing shoes, they're suppose to feel snug! Now, I don't use this for XC, so I don't know about the usefulness of these shoes for XC, but I do use these shoes for sprinting and triple/long jumping in indoor track. Trust me when I say you will not be disappointed in the performance of these shoes for indoor track sprinting and jumping.

This is a great lightweight shoe made for speed. I run an average of ten (10) miles every other day with this pair and feel great. This shoe is made for the narrow foot and medium to high arch!

I bought these not for racing, but to use as minimalist running shoes. So far so good! They gave me some nasty blisters at first because they were very stiff but they've softened a lot as I've broken them in over a few weeks. They are a bit too narrow for my liking though.

I wish that I had read the reviews before I purchased mine! They were too tight, especially in the toes, and the arch in one foot was uncomfortably high, though oddly enough, just in one foot. In sum, they felt terrible on my feet.

Way to screw up the Waffle Racer Nike. I waited months for these to come out because I loved the previous waffle racer. It had a nice, firm, durable sold, light weight, and no intrusive arch "support." Here, Nike has decreased the weight by removing what I loved about the previous waffle racer sole, and added in cushion that digs into my arches (which are not flat, by the way). The arch, combined with the new upper, box in and restrict my feet and it feels awful. Very disappointed. But props to Zappos for getting them to me so quickly. Great service.

First impressions are wow! This is my 1st intro to a XC shoe. Very light weight with awesome traction. My first steps in this shoe were a short 3 mile run. They were great. Can't wait to air them out again. Needed a full size larger than than what I normally wear in Nike.

I bought a pair of the first Zoom Waffle shoes back in 2000 and I wore them, no kidding, off and on for 7 years, changing the orthotics multiple times. The construction of the shoe has changed a good bit, mainly in quality of materials. What was once actual material with stitching now appears to be a very thin applique, and the sole seems thinner. With that in mind, though, the tread pattern of these shoes from toe to heel is unmatched....no better traction in inclement weather in any other shoe I know of. Very light and definitely narrow...I would guess with average to above average width feet you should order at least a half if not whole size larger than normal. I run primarily trails and grass, right now about 8-10 miles a week. Very comfortable in the woods with roots and such ( I run with no socks)...more than a barefoot shoe but still such that you can feel the terrain, which is what I love. This is petty, but the laces are paper thin, you may want to change those. All in all a fantastic shoe...they make your feet feel like they have claws. And a great price.

They are light as air, but they run about a 1/2 size smaller than stated.

The look, feel and price of these shoes is crazy great. The durability, not so much. The sole is coming unglued after 3 weeks.

I too read the reviews and felt I should have gotten a larger shoe. I sure wish I did. They are about a half size small and I have flat feet so I kind of knew better. Totally my fault. Great looking shoe but a little too tight. Honestly they do stretch a small bit but all in all I recommend buying a half size larger

I am so disappointed in these flats. They hurt my feet wearing them just walking around the house for about 10 minutes. I was really loving the look of this shoe too. They look great, but felt way too narrow and I definitely do not have a wide foot.

My son wore these 3 times running and it is ripping by the shoestrings. Not happy with them.

Way too narrow for me and not enough room in the toebox. The exterior was a bit too plastic-y for me, but for a narrow foot, one might like its very low weight.

Totally disappointed! We received these shoes December 29th and they already started falling apart one week later. The front sole is coming undone on both shoes and the side logo is peeling off. Unheard of with Nike shoes, but at this price for kids' shoes I would expect way more quality.

Bought these for our 7 year old son who is participating in Jr. Olympic Track and Field this summer. Ran one race at the end of May, and he loved the feather-light shoes. He will wear them for the state Jr. Olympic meet this weekend and I'm sure will enjoy quicker race times than when wearing his normal running shoes.

Very light shoes with excellent traction. They have a minimal feel. So far, they've been great and I'm looking forward to using them in upcoming obstacle races.

Great shoe. Fits very snug, but well worth the price. No metal spikes on the bottom, but definitely lighter than some of my pairs of racing spikes.

The shoes look nice, but my biggest problem with the shoes is its about half size smaller. If your size is usually 9, the size 9 of Waffle Racer will be unlikely to fit.

The pair I got are more narrower than I thought, felt like they ran a little small, and the plastic design began to peel after three uses.

Pretty nice shoe. I ordered mine in Treasure blue. Very stylish, I've had many compliments on them so far. My only gripe with the design is the laces are more of a neon yellow, the yellow accents on the rest of the shoe aren't quite as bright. I may throw some black laces on instead. The high arches on the shoes feel a bit uncomfortable at first so a gradual break in helps. The shoe definitely runs a bit small and narrow. My Shox (and just about every other Nike) are size 11.5. For these 12.5 were an appropriate fit. Good choice for an affordable, light, minimalist running shoe.

I bought these for my 7th grader for gym shoes. He loves them. He said they were really comfortable and we both loved the color. Fast and speedy delivery as always.

Apart from mostly cosmetic changes this shoe has been unchanged in more than 30 years. Great for XC (no spikes), minimalists, glove like fit. Fits narrow feet well.

I bought these shoes to be my track meet shoes and I wore them for a total of 5 meets, running the 1600 and 400, they held up great and I dropped 20 seconds in my mile. Also all the other track kids were jealous of these shoes. Since the track season is over I now wear these shoes like regular sneakers, and again they work great. Great shoe at a great price from a great company.
