I was excited when I got these that they really kept my feet dry. Perfect for walking in the PNW. However, the Gore-Tex waterproof feature lasted just shy of 1 year with relatively light use. Maybe 200 miles over 7 months (November-June) mostly worn for my exercise walking and not out and about. When I busted them out for this fall to wear on the damp soccer fields while watching my son's game my feet were totally wet -- like when you wear regular running shoes. Wrote to Brooks and they said they would be expected to last 300-500 miles or 4-6 months. Seems like an expensive annual habit; but will get another pair because they do keep your feet dry while walking for exercise for the time I needed them to work. I just expected them to last longer.

I love the color and style but the toe zone was short and angled. My big toe ended up getting smushed. I paid so much for these that I tried to wear them anyway. Regretfully I ended up having to go to a podiatrist for toe problems. Not blaming that completely on the shoe but it did exacerbate swelling my toe. Other trail Brooks in the past fit great and I loved them. These I did not.

I like the look of these shoes, but they are too short, and the toenail of my big toe pushes against the top of the shoe while I am sitting down so I am not even going to try to break them in. Additionally, I did not find any support in the soles. I add my own, but I was surprised to find so little forefoot and arch support in running shoes.
