These are really warm and snug on the inside: nicely padded. They take a few days to break in, and the footbed has a drop off toward the toe end, but I kinda like it. It's warm, waterproof, well made, and I would buy these again.

Have been a North Face fan for eons. This is my first time trying their footwear. When it comes to winter boots, style is generally not on the top of the list, but I think these are one of the best looking boots on the market and very well constructed. A lot of attention to detail. The fit side of the equation is a little trickier. I normally wear an 11 1/2 in most everything and elected to order them the same. Not happening. Way too tight and narrow in the forefoot area. I opted to send them back for a 12 since there are no half sizes beyond 12. Well, they fit much better (using a normal mid-weight sock. Don't think it would cut it with heavy weight wool socks though). These boots are relatively light, and easy to walk in. I cannot attest to the warmth factor yet, but I doubt that will be any problem. One last nit; the triangular hooks for the last two laces look nice, but it's really difficult to get laces through them, obviously no big deal if you just lace them three quarters like I probably will. Bottom line: great style and construction, a firm, snug fit. Another quality product from TNF.

I wear size 12 and have very high arches. These were extremely tight with a strange upward curve in the front 1/2 of the shoe. Very uncomfortable for me. Overall shoe construction and materials are excellent though.

Although i did order 1 size up, I wear a size 8 but ordered a 9. I'm glad I did, the fit is great and this is a awesome boot, my first time today temp was -4 below with 3 foot of snow and lots of ice, this boot is a furnace. And kept me warm and dry. There light weight as well. I love this boot! Order 1 size up and you will love it as well.

Read all the reviews, ordered 1/2 size larger. When boot arrived, fit snug, very snug, was going to return but after wearing around the house for an hour, fit was just right. Almost like ski boots. Have worn it outside in -17 degree weather in snow, regular socks and feet stayed warm. If you don't like snug fit, order full size larger.

Purchased these for my husband and he absolutely loves them! They are exactly what he was looking in a snow boot. They are super warm, comfortable, supportive and great looking. Great quality too...worth every penny.

Great warm boot. Decided on these after retiring a pair of 30 year old Sorels and doing hours of research. I wanted a pair of warm waterproof snow boots. I know there are better, warmer, more expensive boots out there, but I am not working all day in the arctic. I use these primarily for sledding with the kids, walking, and snow removal. I am someone who always does a ton of research before I buy, so if you have the same requirements as mine, save yourself the time and buy these boots. Be aware that you will need to buy at least a full size up. I typically wear a 10.5-11 and I ended up with a 12 after returning the 11.5's I bought first. I wanted enough room to wear liner socks and a pair of smart wool socks, so I figured I should go big. I wore the 12's around the house for a few hours with both socks and although it seemed pretty snug at first, it seemed to break in a bit as they warmed up. As luck would have it, we had a cold snap here in Michigan and I was able to try them out. I spent at least an hour outside snow blowing in -5 degrees with a -25 degree wind chill, and not even a hint of cold. I could not believe how warm my feet were. I was even more surprised when I came inside and took them off. It was then that I realized that I had never put on my smart wool socks, I was only wearing the liners. Even more impressed!

These boots are great! I've had them for a little over two weeks. They keep my feet warm and they are stylish. I take public transportation so while out and about I need warm shoes in the winter. You may need to get a size bigger because there is so much padding that it seems a bit smaller. I normally wear a 9 1/2 but I got a 10 and after breaking them in they feel just right.

In my opinion only, these are the best winter boots that I have ever owned and as far as I am concerned, the best looking. Which is why I am scared that North Face will somehow change them. I have worn these boots in the mountains, high elevation and down in the central mid-west cutting down trees and working in deep snow. My feet have never gotten cold. If I had these boots when I was younger on my family's farm, my days would have turned into night as my feet simply are comfortable and never get cold. They are the best boots that I have ever owned.

Returned twice and ended up a size-and-a-half bigger than what I normally wear. Great boot, hiked an hour in eight inches of snow and 28 degrees recently and my feet were warm and dry.

First, buy one size bigger than normal! I'm an 11 in every shoe under the sun. Bought 10.5, 11,11.5 and finally 12. Way off on size. For kicks, went to REI and found the same issue. If you're looking for a comfy, feel good, shoveling or after ski, general snow boot, this isn't it. It's and active boot. Snow shoeing, hiking in snow, etc. Additionally, takes some breaking in. Went on a three hour snow shoe trek one week after buying. Great support. Warm. Great construction. Feet felt great after. No issues. Bottom line, active boot. Fits my uses.

These boots are really nice, for running about, and working out in the elements. I use them for construction, but I have to say. Standing on a ladder when temperatures drop below 20, your feet still feel like they are frozen solid. Even if the price tag is quite high.

At least 1 size too small, and toe area relative to earlier Baltoro 400 models I own is way too narrow. Unfortunately it was out of stock for size 11. So maybe I'll try again next winter! Love my original Baltoro 400's for winter hiking with snow shoes, microspikes and crampons in our NH White Mtns. What a shame this newer version was not made the same way!

shoe is great when it is new. The rubber eventually dries out and crumbles. I learned the hard way when I wore them for the first time this winter to walk the dog in deep snow. Upon getting back to the house I heard a cracking and slapping sound. I looked down and the shoes had completely seperated and the rubber was breaking off with every step.

What a horrible product! It runs 5 sizes small and has way too much padding. It is also ridiculously heavy. I do not recommend the boot.
