For the money, this helmet is the best value that I have found. I purchased this to protect my son's head when he is on rollerskate, skateboards and bicycles. The helmet is much higher quality than the cheaper 'cartoon character' ones that you would find. It also seems to have more head coverage. Overall, I would highly recommend this product.

I have been skating most of my life and the only company for a truly comfortable helmet is Triple 8. My head doesn't get all sweaty because of the sweat saver thing and every other helmet I have tried just annoys me when I m skating. If you re trying to buy a helmet you should defiantly go with Triple 8.

Medium fits my 6 year old perfectly. Nice helmet and it must be comfortable because he doesn't complain about wearing it.

I really like my Triple 8 helmet. It is super light, the sweat saver really works, and the helmet looks good. My coworkers like to throw things at my helmet as I am leaving to skate for lunch hour; it works!

This helmet's replacing my old Protec skate helmet. Huge difference between the two. The padding on this helmet is much better. It's firmer than the Protec, but despite that it's far more comfortable. The Protec's foam padding always felt itchy to me and it didn't take long for it to take on a funk of its own. The terry cloth material sucks up the sweat like a champ. Even after wearing it for 2+ hours straight in 92F weather, I didn't have a single drop of sweat run down my face, due to the helmet's padding completely encircling my head. It's the first time I've worn a helmet and didn't mind it. If anything, I almost forgot I had it on.

Not really sure about what the most common head injuries are by bike versus skating, but apparently, there are different concerns since the helmets for each activity have different padding inside. I was looking for a helmet for rollerblading. I went with one from Triple 8 that's also qualified for biking just because I liked the padding better. This one seems alright for front/back/side impacts but not really great for impacts to the top of the head. Getting hit on the top of the head may not be common, but I still feel better with the bike helmet. The thing about the bike helmet is that it is bigger than this helmet because of the different padding. And it may make you feel like Darth Helmet.

I love my helmet. The sweatsaver liner is a great addition and helps keep sweat out of my eyes while I'm doing roller derby! Love it!

This is a lightweight helmet. The sweat liner creates a comfortable fit. The appearance and styling are great in comparison to others and it's sold at an appropriate price.

We live in the south where it is very hot in the summers. I am looking forward to seeing if this helmet's sweatsaver liner really works! My son loves the style and fit.

I bought this helmet for my son. This is the second "Triple Eight Brainsaver" helmet he has had and he loves them! Make sure you get the one with the Sweatsaver Liner. Zappos had the best price and the helmet was received very fast. Would definitely recommend the helmet and getting it from Zappos!

I have not actually tested it with impact, but this is a great helmet so far. Fit is tighter than suggested, I had to move from an L to XL.

This Triple Eight Brainsaver helmet is the first skate helmet I've owned, having worn bicycle helmets all my life. What an improvement! It feels much more secure with better coverage. My head measures at the top of size medium scale, and the snug fit is perfect. It's lightweight, comfortable, and cool enough for a Texas summer. The slim profile looks really awesome without that weird mushroom look you get with bulky helmets. Putting on this helmet instills confidence, and makes me feel a whole lot safer knowing if an accident does happen, my most important asset is well protected. This Tiriple Eight Brainsaver is a great investment. Make sure you get the newer version with the sweat wicking (sweatsaver) liner, or you could always upgrade and purchase the liner separately later. I chose the multi-impact design instead of the CPSC for long-term resiliency instead of crumple foam padding.

Keeps the noggin safe. Comfortable for long sessions. And keeps the noggin safe. Can't go wrong here.

Got the smaller one first - but turned out my 6 year old's head is MD size. So, just be aware they run a little small. But overall great, sturdy, and nice design - especially for fashion conscious kids.

Awesome helmet. My kids will not wear anything else. This helmet looks great and the fit is very comfortable for them. The seat saver liner works great especially during the hot summers!

This is a great helmet for toddlers. My two year old loves having a helmet that looks like his older brother's. The fit is great and the padding is great. The sweat liner is awesome.

After a constant battle with my 15 year old son to wear a helmet when skateboarding, he finally agreed when he saw this one on-line. The helmet arrived on a Thursday and on Saturday he was boarding with a group of friends. He unfortunately, fell hard going down a hill. He broke his ankle and his wrist, had cuts that required stitches, but his head was fine! He had hit the back of his head first where there are lots of scratches on the helmet, but it didn't crack and thankfully, neither did his head. Best purchase I've made in a long time!!

This is the first skate helmet that I felt like I didn't look like I was wearing a donkey helmet with. It's very comfortable and has a nice design.

Came in completely fine and quickly, feels a little awkward on the ears though (I blame my large dome).

I ordered an XS and a S for my 4.5 year old son. The XS seemed a little too tight on his head, the S fit better but was bending his ears down from the cusions being too deep. We then found out that the cushions inside the helmet are velcro'd in and you can adjust them to have them sit a little higher in the helmet to shallow it out. It fits him great now, he loves it and it looks money. We also like that he has some room to grow in it as the cushions can be adjusted back down. Good buy, would recommend.

Zappos had the helmet in the correct size and color I wanted. Price was fair. Shipped and received immediately and in excellent condition.

100 mile report. I spent way too long comparing skull bumpers. I think Forrest Gump's mom said, "Perseveration equals Perserverance." This nugget protector fits as described. I purchased this for bike riding. As a wearer of countless fitted hats, it is critical that the hat fits or you won't wear it. If it doesn't feel good, you'll find a reason to forget it - bounce your melon off the macadam and the thing didn't do its job. Road Ride could equal Humpty Dumpty nursery rhyme minus the putting back together part. I was between Medium and Large and went with Medium. Mine fit perfect, a little snug, but true to size range. Foam breaks down or get your wig busted. It will fit. Same goes for looks, but to a lesser extent. Unless your commute is to Starbucks to troll for dates. I guarantee this helmet will give you helmet head, so avoid if you are biking and Tinder-ing. On second thought, if you are Hell bent on that multi-tasking activity, no helmet will save you. The flat = less flashy, which is good. My only complaint is that the sweat band is a little scratchy. Fabric softener. Chip Strap is comfy, quality is high. Breathability is better than you'd think. Aerodynamics, lower profile, but still is a helmet. I would trust this in batting practice. Nerd factor: 5/10.
