Anyone who knows about Allen Edmonds knows they make one of the best shoes around. They last a long time, look better as they age, and can be recrafted to last even longer. The Lasalles are particularly nice because from the outside they look like your typical AE shoe. However, it is one of the few AE that has a padded insole that gives you out-of-the-box comfort. Whereas most AEs have a hard leather sole with cork backing that molds to your foot over time, these Lasalles are more plush. The insole is still leather, but there isn't a months-long break-in period. The uppers and outsole are a little stiff out of the box, but everyone knows that they break in and will ultimately be much stronger than a leather that's suppler from the beginning. One note about cosmetics: while I love the chili color, I could do without the burnished toe...it's subtle, but I don't think AE should be chasing trends too much on shoes that are meant to last a lifetime.

I am well satisfied with these shoes. The color and the fit are perfect. I enjoy ordering shoes from Zappos because of the wide selection of good looking shoes in my size. I also congratulate you for your excellent service.

This is a nice shoe. I used to wear Allen Edmonds- Brentwood in 1985. I would like to know if you still stock it. I am staying in Pretoria, South Africa. How do I receive shipment and how much will it cost me?

Stiffest, most rigid ill-fitting shoes ever ordered! Large last - would need two thick orthotics to "fill" this shoe. Very disappointed in Allen-Edmonds, although I own two other pairs of A-E shoes, both excellent. This model is just poorly made from low quality, hardened leather.

These shoes are wonderful. I buy these because I keep my shoes a long time. The opportunity to have these recrafted down the road makes them even more appealing. I wear them with the blue super feet insoles. Marvelous!

All around great shoe. Soft, comfortable leather takes practically no time to break-in. Not to mention great looking as well.

Leather is durable but will crease quickly as it breaks in. Great construction. Fairly light weight. A little tight around my pinky toe but no worries unless I am on my feet all day. Looks great casual but I think it's better suited dressed up. Great low and long look without looking excessively euro. These shoes really hit a good timeless middle ground.

My first pair of Allen Edmonds. Will not be the last. Great fit and very comfortable. Allen Edmond is my shoe source from now on.

These are outstanding shoes. Extremely high quality, superb construction, and great look. In addition, Allen-Edmonds has added a padded insole to this model; it doesn't go soft or flat. My first pair was in black and I loved them so much I bought another pair in brown.

I have these in brown and black. I give a 4 to the black and 2 to the brown. The brown is not a great color. I am meticulous about polishing my shoes and these don't even look great right after a shine. It just isn't a good color and they do not like like they look above. Further, my brown shoes appear more like factory seconds than firsts. The "seam" around them heel is crooked and this leads the inner part of the shoe bulging out and catching on everything,m which doesn't help the appearance. Unfortunately, I only noticed this defect past a year, so I'm stuck. The black pair is basically perfect. The Norwegian style is kind of old fashioned, but that works when you want that. I mark 1 down for style because of this, but you know what they look like already. The black holds a shine perfectly. Despite being exactly the same shoe, but for color, my attitude is very different. Black is the color to get. Yes, these shoes take some break in, and it can hurt a bit if you're not used to "real shoes." However, once they are broken in, they will extremely comfortable dress shoes.
