Love the style of the shoe but they hurt my right big toe. Not sure why, but I cannot wear these shoes for long. I have been trying ti "break" them in but to no avail. Not good on my toes.

I thought they ran a little small.

Love these sneakers.. super trendy. The only thing is the shoes are so narrow for people with feet.

I really wanted to keep these shoes (love the reto look), but they did not feel comfortable to wear. They ran about 1/2 size big for me. The other issue was the soles were not glued down flat and they were a little bunched up, making the shoe very uncomfortable to wear. Even if I could get them to lay flat, I still don't think they would be that comfortable for every day wearing. I will look elsewhere for the retro styling and find a more comfortable shoe.

When Zappos said they were "ol skool" I had no freaking idea it was a gang thing. Ain't nobody got time for that in NYC. Famous gangster shoes or not, they are not sized like any Nike's. Tight as hell and worst purchase on here ever. Order at least 1/2 size bigger and buy a Glock if you want to wear there.
I'd also recommend:

Runs very small. Exchanging these for probably two sizes bigger. Love the look, so will have to get another size and hope they fit. I wear a women's 10 in tennis shoes so I ordered Men's 8 - they feel like a women's 8.

Super tight toe area. I ordered the wider option too. Maybe it’s just how this style fits. Usually I rock the Nike skate shoes

Not exactly how I remember the original. Was disappointed they were too snug.

I wanted these to work because I loved the retro look but unfortunately they were one of the most uncomfortable sneakers I have ever put on.

This is not the original Cortez from Nike. There is one less set of lace holes making the shoe wider around the ankle than the original shoe. The sole is also cut in more so there is less surface area on the sole than the original design had. I'm not sure what other shoe to look for now. I definitely will not be buying this shoe type again. Nike was the last manufacturer of sport shoes who considered people with small ankles when designing their shoes. Boo hiss to the idiot designers and corporate people at Nike who are ruining an excellent line of athletic shoes!
There is another problem here. This is marketed as a man's shoe. I have a narrow foot and the width is almost tight on my (woman's) foot! I would definitely not buy this shoe if you are a man. It will be way too narrow for you. I opted to keep one pair as I desperately need a pair of shoes, but I don't have much good to say about them.
Zappo's service, on the other hand, was excellent and quicker than I thought. Kudos to you Zappos!

I think Nike has shrunk it's sneakers. I'm usually a size 9.5, and I order at 10.5. My toes are rubbing against the top of the sneaker. That's ridiculous.

Husband has been a fan of Nike since the 80's but these shoes are nothing like what he wore back then. Much like I am finding in women's athletic shoes is that the shoes are getting a little more narrow every year. We know our bodies change over time but this is a trend I we have heard and read about for a while now. It surely has to do with brands trying to make things cheaper yet charge the same or more. Also, hubby said that these shoes felt cheap and that the leather did not feel real like his old pairs back in the day. Even after buying multiple sizes of this shoe he is looking for a different brand and returning these and the other sizes.
