Had mixed feelings about these boots. I normally wear an 8 but these were only available in a 71/2 so I took a chance and with crossed fingers, I opened the package this morning. They fit perfectly. Beautiful chocolate brown color. Incredible leather and much nicer looking than any picture I've seen of them. They are really so much better than I expected. Did not find them to have any drawbacks for my very average foot and no pressure points, loose heels etc. Having to completely lace them is unusual today but does allow you to customize the fit to work with thin or thick socks, leggings and heavier jeans. If you are considering this boot, I'd say go for it! They are wonderful in every way.

I've been stalking these boots online for some time. I finally got lucky and the black ones went on sale in my size. Just received them. The leather is unbelievable soft out of the box no breaking in. I usually wear a 8.5 or 9 and got the 8.5 and glad I did...the 9 would have been too long. They are narrow but I can tell the leather will warp to my feet pretty quickly. Super cute military style boot that should last as long as my Fryes do.

Love these boots! Comfortable, made in the USA, fine with skirts, jeans, etc. Am saving money to buy the brown pair. Yes, they are expensive, but I am sure that I will be wearing them for a long time, plus, I think they will age beautifully!

I love, love, love these boots. I have them in brown. The leather is buttery smooth--so comfortable! The pictures really don't do these boots justice because they look so awesome on. I get many compliments with these ones. These are not your run-of-the-mill military boot. They are the real deal. I really like the fact that they are actual replicas of the WWII paratrooper boots; you can't get more classic than that. Yes, it might be a little cumbersome to have to loosen the laces rather than unzip your feet out of the boots, but it is soooo worth it. These are by far the most versatile boots I have in my closet. I wear them with skinny jeans, mini-skirts, and above the knee dresses. My favorite way to wear these is with over-the-knee socks and a mini-skirt. I am very happy with this purchase; if you are worried about the price...get them anyway, you won't regret it.

Beautiful and comfortable. They feel like they will last for a long time. Note: I have a long, narrow foot and these were perfect on me.

I couldn't be happier with my purchase of these boots. I'm in love with the style, quality and comfort of the Molly. I have somewhat of a love/hate relationship with the Vintage Shoe Company brand because I love their designs, but I hate that their fits and finishes vary so much style to style and even within the same style. This variation makes it hard to know what size to order and what the pair you receive will actually look like compared to the stock photo. I assume that this wide variation can be attributed to their products being individually handcrafted and not assembled on a high-speed manufacturing line. This pair of boots actually came with a note saying "variations among our shoes are possible as each shoe is considered to be unique and original", which is a good thing to be aware of when ordering any Vintage shoes online. My two boots definitely don't look identical, but they are both beautifully crafted out of the most soft and supple leather I have ever put on my feet. With Zappos' fantastic customer service, you shouldn't hesitate in buying these boots, just be prepared for possible frustration in finding your desired look and fit.

I really love these boots! Like "OMG, I can walk all day in these" kind of thing. I have gotten many compliments and/or threats to take the boots. The shipping was speedy and even though the boots were a bit high in price I felt like they would be worth the money. And, so far, they are.

These are really beautiful boots. And the leather comes right out of the box butter-soft. I was surprised how narrow they feel initially, but after a couple days of wearing they fit my feet well. I did try to break them in with a 3 mile walk, but ended up with blisters. I would definitely wear them around the house a few days before I took them for any long-distance treks.

Beautiful boot and I own a lot of boots. My foot is on the wide side but I don't find the width a problem. The toe box is nice and roomy. Love the fact these are made in the USA. Great quality.

Beautiful boots. I've had my eye on these since the Spring when I saw them at a going out of business sale. The leather is just gorgeous, and the whole boot seems really well made. I normally wear a 7.5 but after reading other reviews ordered both the 7 and a 7.5 so I could compare. The 7.5 fit perfectly. A little room in the toe and not too tight across the ball, which I was worried about because even though I have narrow feet for the most part, I am a bit wide at the ball of my foot. (Keens are my favorite shoe for this reason.) I've never spent this much on one pair of shoes, but I'm glad I did. I expect these to last a very long time. And Zappos customer service was spectacular as always!

Best boots ever! I love these with skirts! and jeans! The leather is so very soft! The quality is beyond excellent. I would say these are true to size. I'm an 8.5 in most all shoes. Got an 8.5 and they are perfect with socks. Cute laced up all the way or left loose...a beautiful boot. Worth the price 100%.

Overall, I really like these boots, with some qualifications and warnings (I got them for a very good price, so in the end I think they are worth it). The good: They have nice leather-firm on the bottom yet flexible, and butter-soft around the ankle and calf, so no breaking in needed; leather laces. They are a lovely style, I like the toe box detail (and lots of room around toes inside) and narrow fit that I can make tight around the ankle (I have thin calves and ankles and a small heel, so I like the adjustability). The tongue is sewn quite high up the insides, which is great, avoids it creeping over to the side under the laces and exposing sock and letting in cold. They look durable, nice thick sole with traction. Very comfortable by the second day (I only just got them). The bad: Sizing runs small, and narrow! I had tried another VSC boot in a store, so luckily I got a bigger size (I normally wear 8, sometimes 7½). The size 8½ fits well around my small heel/back of foot, but at the ball of my foot it is tight with socks on (I anticipate wearing these all winter, with thick socks, and the leather seems so nice that I hope they ll stretch). But they are very long, so it is definitely the clown look, what with the tight shank and the big toebox, and there is easily half and inch of space in front of my toes. With the narrow fit and the sewn tongue (and thick leather laces, which are harder to handle than regular laces), the boots are difficult to get on and off, even though I do not have super wide feet. There is no shortcut-zipper, you really have to undo all the laces! I do not mind this aspect, as they are so comfortable and I could wear them all day, but, given black scuffs (see below) I need to take them off inside, and that s a pain. The sole leaves black scuffs everywhere on the floor! The marks rub off quite easily, but it is really annoying, in this day and age I would think it would be possible to make a good, durable rubber sole that is Non-marking! I do not recommend wearing these inside the house.

Really high-quality boots, but I preferred the shape of Vintage Shoe Company's other women's boots (namely, the Neve and the Kimberly). I felt like this had a strangely rounded toe. They are definitely wider than the other styles, but I've got a narrow enough foot that I didn't have a problem with the others.

Exactly what I've been looking for-- combat boots minus an inner side zipper. Leather is fantastic, but don't expect them to have identical finishes. I ordered a half size smaller based on lots of reviews-- so glad I did. Still have wiggle room. By the second day they felt almost completely broken in. Love!

Okay, full disclosure: I'm still wearing these in my house, trying to decide whether to keep these or not. I'm a 7.5 Narrow, and even though many say "narrower than usual" this shoe is still too wide for me. (I have very narrow heels.) And a tad too long. Also: these only lace-up, there is no side zipper. (I know the pictures show that, but I thought there was a side zipper -- looked at too many pairs of boots on shopping day.) Very difficult to get on and off -- I have to un-lace the top 4 or 5 eyelets to make the middle part loose enough to get on and off. Also note the laces are leather, not fabric, so they're a bit tricky to handle. I wouldn't say "moderate" arch support - more like "so-so arch support." I do love how they look, and they are comfortable. I would like to try a 7, but I don't relish putting an additional $300 on my credit card. I'll likely try this brand again, but a shorter boot with easier laces.

From the pictures on the site I expected a richly textured leather and a really unique piece of footwear. What I received was mostly bland. Thick uniform leather. For that price, one would expect a bit of punch to the shoe! I wear orthotics. The foot bed was low, i.e. my foot was squished once the orthotics inserted. Otherwise quite comfortable.

Loved these, but the leather scratches extremely easily (and arrived with quite a few scratches already) and the wood (on the bottom of the boot) arrived cracked and chipped. I thought maybe it was a default boot, so I ordered another pair... alas, the same thing came on the second pair. No thanks; if I'm paying this much money for a pair of boots, I want the pair to arrive in tip-top shape.
