These are great shoes! This is my second pair in five years. They are really comfortable and hold up very well.

Most comfortable shoe I have ever owned. Light for a hiking shoe with a perfect fit. I ordered my size and was worried I would need to go a size larger from what other reviewers were saying, but they arrived and felt great from day one and without having to break them in. Every time I put them on I look forward to it. Ive had them for about a month now and I am currently buying another pair or two. Very happy with these shoes.

Shoe felt fine when I wore them in the house. The first and only time I walked in them I noticed the size and width was too small. Since I used them outside I am unable to return them. Maybe return policy on hiking shoes should be different.

I found the Exit 2 Aero to be true to size, well made, and comfortable. Salomon's seem to be one of the very few brands that accommodate a person with a narrow heel. With most other brands, my heel slips upward as I walk but with the Salomon's Exit 2 Aero they stay comfortably snug.

They are hiking shoes but I bought them for exercise walking and they are excellent for that. I bought the same shoe for my wife and she feels the same way.

Great shoes! Tried others but could not commit. Had earlier version of Aero, finally wore out after heavy use for about 2 years. Zappos had great selection and price. Delivered quickly!

Great pair of shoes. Very comfortable. I have owned a few pairs of Salomon shoes and boots. They are very good quality and I highly recommend.

These are great walking shoes. They fit well right out of the box. They were delivered quickly and they were sold at a good price.

Tried several hiking shoes and this was the winner. It was light and comfortable and stable. No hot spots even from day one. The medium width was wide enough to not put pressure on my bunion like many other shoes can. Only negative was I noticed that my foot slid forward a little when walking downhill. After I securely tied the laces in the top eyelet, this mostly went away. The tongue is heavily padded. Kudos to Zappos for a great web site and making this shoe purchase a pleasant experience!

This is my first pair of Salomon shoes and I'm impressed. They're one of the few that actually have heel and arch support. Also it's rare to see the Salomon brand in local stores so hat tip to Zappos.

I wore my Exit Aeros into the ground, but had to put arch supports in. Thought the Exit 2 would improve on arch support and lace security. It appears to, during a try-on, but look at the tread. The original Exit Aero for women had a horizontal tread, and this version has a swoop. Doesn't look like something I would want to wear on a desert slope.
I'd also recommend:

I am a big fan of the Salomon Exit Aero. I bought my first pair in 2009 and they lasted a year. The exterior of that pair is still intact, but the interior liner is torn. Not bad for a two year old pair of shoes! The second pair was equally impressive. I purchased a pair of Exit 2 Aeros in mid May. Within two weeks, a seam split near the left big toe. I returned them, thank you Zappos, and ordered another pair. I was confident that the problem was an anomaly. I have had the second for six weeks, and the seam split near the left big toe. I am disappointed in Salomon. They should go back to the original Exit Aero.

This is a great shoe out of the box ready to go. I only wish they had a gusset tongue.

With my orthotics, these are a great hiker. My feet overpronate, and this one of the few pairs of shoes I've found that combine comfort (with an orthotic insert), style and function. Great traction and I can actually feel my feet operating correctly when I wear them. Heel cup is a bit loose, but I'll make that trade off. This may become less of an issue as the uppers break in. I actually look forward to putting them on.

Very comfortable good looking shoe, I have had several compliments. One major complaint, the shoe is terribly slippery on wet concrete walkways where I do the majority of my walking and for that I would never buy this shoe again.

This Salomon Exit 2 Aero is a step back comparing to the model which I bought 4 years ago. It feels comfortable everywhere, except tongue. The tongue is stitched as a separate part in front and its large part, about half of inch, continues inside and push on fingers. This makes Exit 2 Aero unusable. Salomon should return to previous model, which was excellent.

Bought mine at Gander Mountain about 2 years ago. Wear them everyday for nearly everything I do. Long distance recumbent cycling, heavy duty yard work, and of course, just walking about. Used and abused. Occasionally machine washed. Strangely, no significant signs of wear.
I rarely untie my shoes. Just slip on/slip off. These shoes work just fine that way as the rear top of the shoe is pretty stiff.
A very tough, comfortable shoe that is reasonably priced.

Owning 2 pairs of Salomon hiking boots I've come to feel they are one of the best and my favourites on the market. Very comfortable fit however while they are usually spot on with the size however these shoes run a bit small with the tip of my toe touching the end.

I have fairly large and slightly narrow feet (Men's 11) and was looking for suggested brands that might fit better than what I was able to find locally. The brands that kept coming up were Salomon, Scarpa, and Asolo. I have two pairs of Asolo boots that fit great, but they offer a pretty limited supply of shoes, so I decided to try and compare the Salomon Exit 2 Aero, the Scarpa Zen, and the Asolo Mantra. Of the three the Salomon were by far the least comfortable, had the least arch support, and my heels would lift out of the cup (though this could easily change with some break-in). They also seemed to run half a size small. Both the Scarpas and the Asolos fit great. I would have been happy with either, and ended up with the Scarpas because I liked their looks better. Too bad, the Salomons would have saved me a little money over either of the others and probably would have been a little cooler due to the mesh.
