After much research and comparison shopping I ordered the Cuisinart GR-4N Griddler. I love it! Works great. Easy to clean. Easy to use. I read somewhere about placing a wet paper towel on the grill and closing the lid on it after you are done cooking to aid in clean up. I have done this also and clean up is fast and easy. I use it so often that it has gained a permanent place on my counter top. Very happy with this grill.

I've had this unit for a couple of years now and I love it. I open it flat to use as a griddle to make homemade english muffins. I also use the slotted plates to make panini's all the time. With the "floating" top plate I don't squish my sandwiches into wedges. It cooks evenly and quickly. Only bad things...no waffle plates (boo) and a slight amount of smoke when preheating closed.

I recently replaced the previous model GR-4 with this model. This one works even better than the old one. They redesigned the drip tray to fit underneath the griddler. They also redesigned the grill plates so that the top and bottom are interchangeable. It heats evenly and cooks all types of food well. I just wish they made it in an even bigger size!

It's nice. Before I saw the ad we already had 1 in the house. It's pretty good!

This griddler is super awesome. We practically use it for breakfast, lunch and dinner! For Sunday brunches, we pull it out to make large volume of pancakes and eggs quickly on the double griddle. For lunch, we use it as a panini press. For dinner, we quickly grill up salmon steaks/chicken and steak! And it's crazy easy to clean! For the win!

I purchased the Griddler as a gift for my son-in-law, who used it while we were visiting (to grill steaks) and loved it.

Excellent product. Easy to use and clean. Food cooks evenly and comes out perfect with just a little bit of practice. I used to hate to make bacon on the stove because of the mess. If you use dual griddle plates and keep the lid closed in panini mode, bacon comes out nice and crisp with no grease splatter. Can use it to make a full course meal or just toast. Extremely satisfied with product and service from Zappos. One side note, product will become very hot when in use as I expected. So just use the cool touch handle or use an oven mitt when needed.

We've had the Cuisinart Griddler for over two years. We've enjoyed it -- have used it a lot. The huge downside for us, which is the reason we'll go to another brand, is that the top section never stays 'hooked' to the handle -- it keeps swinging back getting grease and whatever all over the countertop. That has been a real disappointment for us.

This review is from: Cuisinart GR-4N 5-in-1 Griddler (Kitchen) My wife and I were excited to finally get this item when it went on sale. We first started out truing to make pancakes and couldn't believe how long they took to turn golden which they never really did. We're both good cooks, we allowed it 10 minutes to warm up to 375 degrees. After going through 2 batches of batter and still not with an edible pancake, I decided to do some testing. I got out my infrared thermometer and found the problem. When the temperature selector was set to 375, the temperature of the cooking plates cycled from a low of 250 to a hich of 310 or so. This cycle kept repeating. Turning the selector up to 425, the plates cycled between 328 and 386 degrees. Using the panini selector and set to the highest temperature available, sear, the plates cycled between 352 and 414. I am so glad I did not risk destroying a steak on this POS. I'm sure this thing would work fine for a sandwich but it's also advertised as a griddle and a griddle it ain't. It's already back in the box and will be returned to Macy's tomorrow.

Used it twice and it was terrific. Third time it shut off by itself and will not turn back on. Sturdy and nice looking but for this amount of money it should perform as well. This is the third Cuisinart appliance that I have purchased that has died while still new in the last six months. Their quality is not what it used to be. I say pass on this one.

This is just about the best appliance I have ever bought. It does everything and does it so well. Cooks evenly, quickly and clean up is so easy. I bought the waffle grids also and they turn out perfect. I could never make good waffles before. A real pleasure to use.

This is amazing! I use it every day. It's beyond easy to use and even easier to clean. In the past, I had opted for quicker and less than healthy dinner choices because I didn't want put in the time or deal with the mess, but the convenience of this Griddler has made staying on a healthier diet a breeze.

This one is much better than George's. Love the removable grill plates, hinged top to accommodate thicker items like sandwiches. Have to watch it closely the first few times you use it to get a sense of how fast it cooks, but when you can't use an outdoor grill this is the next best thing.

I am extremely disappointed in my Griddler. Both the top and bottom plates warped to such a degree that the fat didn't drain out the intended slot but accumulated and spilled into the heating element area. I felt that this was a fire hazard and won't use it for very fatty items. Replacement plates cost more than the Griddler and I obviously won't buy a new Griddler just to replace the plates.
