I got these as an exchange for a pair I returned that was defective - I didn't have many choices based on my size (most were sold out), but these are kind of cute. They are really clunky, though, and I feel like I am clomping around when I wear them. I bought some insoles for them, since I walk 1 mile to/from work. For short walks, they're fine without an insole. As for size, they seem true to size - maybe a tad big, but not a problem. As long as they don't spring a leak like my last pair, I'm happy!

Nice style and quality and felt comfortable while on, but almost impossible to pull off. My calves are thick so maybe that's why, but I wouldn't want that struggle every time I wore them. The laces are for looks only, wish they were real to give a bit of relief in the tension.

These boots would've been perfect for my large, muscular calves if only the toe box had been wider. I have a normal width foot but they felt too tight widthwise, especially on the outsides of both feet. The other thing is that they weigh 2 pounds each. That is pretty heavy. I felt like I'd be clumping all around town in them and it was hard to walk.

I'm a big fan of Tretorn and own an old pair of their wedge-heeled rain boots, but this style let me down. I wasn't looking for anything fancy -- just a comfortable walking boot, so that I could chase after my kids in the rain/mud. These were just too clunky -- heavy, large for their size, and awkward to walk in. The sole was so stiff that I was exhausted after wearing them around the house for a few minutes. Too bad, because they manage to look cute for a big rain boot. Sending them back for a lighter weight, more fitted boot from Kamik.

I bought these for my daughter, and those nasty Texas Thunderstorms. She totally loves them! Good fit, perfect shaft height!

The other reviews are right to size down. This is a great boot. Good traction at the sole and very sturdy. Cute too!

The boots were lovely. Nice grey color and they fit my muscular calves! I ended up not keeping them because my left foot is just enough too small that it slid around in the boot and hurt my foot-at no fault of the boots though. Really good quality

I am usually a 7.5 and ordered a 7 which is still too large so definitely order a size down. Has very good support and feels like more of a shoe than rubber boots I have had before. They will also be good for slush/light snow since they have better soles than other rain boots.

If you have a high arch this is not for you. I could get them on but not off. My husband now has the boots, nice but not for me.

I love Tretorns. I had a pair when I was little, and my mom has a pair that, while she is not using them anymore, lasted her the better part of three decades. The only problem this one has is that like with all rain boots, you slide around a bit in them if they are big enough to get your feet into. I do not know about the wide calf - it felt about average to me. I have thin calves, but the problem is getting your feet in there. Anyway these are lovely boots, especially when everyone is wearing Hunters everywhere.

I wanted a pair of wellies that my jeans would easily fit down into. These work!

These Tretorns are my first pair of non-cheapo rainboots and I'm very happy with them. The black goes with everything, but the laces at the top add some visual interest and style. In terms of comfort, I've been very impressed. After reading other reviews, I ordered a half size down, and was very happy with the fit. There is still room for me to wear medium thickness socks, but not so much that my foot slides around uncontrollably. Arch support and insulation is good. I walk about 2 miles a day and my feet stay comfy, warm and dry. The one improvement I would make to these boots would be to add maybe just a half inch more to the calf circumference. I have wider calves and am able to fit them in these boots when wearing tights or skinny jeans, but there isn't enough room for me to comfortably tuck in boot cut jeans.

Have a high instep and trouble getting my size 11 foot into a boot. Same problem with these. Finally got them on and then couldn't get them off! Not a lot of room in the foot bed. The 'wide calf' didn't seem any wider than the Tretorn Langta Rubber Rain Boot I ended up keeping-much cuter and better fitting. The Sofiero isn't very stylish. The look like what a farmer wears to feed the pigs. They are going back.

Holy moly, I love these boots. Am super super picky about this type of boot - usually hate the look on me of my pants tucked into boots (but I dig the look on everyone else!). These are so fabulously adorable on. Comfy so far. I'm going plant hunting by streams this weekend - it will be interesting to see how they hold up to a real outdoor test. I have bought Hunter boots before but always found the shaft too high - it chafed and inhibited my movement - these are perfect. Not too high, not too short. I would have paid double for these, easily.

These boots are fabulous. Super comfy and cute. I have to return them though because I was hoping to replace a pair of Tretorn rain boots that I already own that the calf is just not quite big enough. I was hoping these boots would be looser in the calf than my old boots but they aren't. I can't justify keeping them even though they are much more comfy to wear. I only use rain boots to wash my dogs and work around the house. Living in socal it just doesn't rain enough to warrant these. If it did I would have for sure kept them.

These are the most comfortable rubber boots I have ever worn. I actually just ordered another pair because good boots are hard to find if you have wide feet like I do. So far I have no complaints. I just hope they hold up to the rugged lifestyle that I lead.

Living on a farm rain boots are essential. My intentions for the boots were for casual walks around the farm and functional wear to and from work in town. My main priorities for a rain boot is keeping dry and keeping mud off work clothes. It is tough to range your size when options are only whole sizes. These were too big for me. My shoes size is typically an average 8.5. I ordered the EU 40 = US 9. Sadly, when I went to exchange to a size down they were out of stock. These boots were comfortable. My feet don't require special foot and/or arch support. At times, some shoes are too narrow for me but not the case with these boots. As for style, I really liked them. They are plain. For me, I'd rather have functionality than style. But I feel it is a cute boot. You could wear a colored shoelace of your liking if you don't like the color offered. As far as the color, I ordered the Grey which comes with grey shoelaces. The color is a dusty like grey but very cool. Wish I could have exchanged them! They would of been the perfect rain boot for me. My suggestion when contemplating an order is to always glance at the item information. It usually states the full description and what measurements were used when making the shoe. Really helpful when deciding a size. If you like these, you may want to view Tretorn Staika. It is a very similar rain boot with slight differences.

I have bigger calves that don't fit in regular rainboots. These left enough room to tuck jeans in. They are sturdy and I love the lace in the front! I'm usually an 8.5-9; I got the 9 and it's a little bigger than I thought. But I don't mind because I need room for socks!

I was so excited to get these because they were advertised as wide calf. I had been looking all over and nothing would fit around my calves. I was a bit disappointed, because these are snug. Thin skinny jeans barely fit with my calves in these. I've tried on way too many boots, and technically, they fit, so I won't be returning these. I'm 5'8 and my calves are about 15.5 around at the widest part. Overall, they aren't bad looking, but it sucks that cuter styles and prints don't come in wide calf. The lacing and bow are a nice touch on these.

This boot turned out to be greater than expected. I have athletic, 16" calves but ankles on the small side so most of the "wide calf" rain boots fit my calf but look frumpy and big down near my ankle. This boot tapers nicely but leaves enough room to tuck in my straight leg jeans. I wanted the hunter green color but Zappos was out so I bought the black with gray laces. I'm happy with the black. The footbed is nice and sturdy and is a great boot to do outdoor chores in as sole gives good traction and is nice and thick. It may not be the best choice if you are looking for a lightweight rain boot for running around town or for mostly an aesthetic reason. It can feel heavy after wearing for a few hours. They do seem to run big. FYI, I wear an 8 - 8.5 in regular shoes and am 5'6". I bought a size 7 and it fits great with even just a little room if I want to add a thick pair of ankle socks. They come up just over mid-calf for me.

I'm a curvier girl on the bottom (10/12) so I bought these boots thinking the wide calf option would be better to fit jeans and tights into. While the boot itself was very well made, very cute and incredibly comfortable (squishy! arch support!) the wide calf option did not do it for me. I tried them on with leggings and the bottom of the boot would buckle when I walked because the top could not move around my leg. I was super disappointed to have to send them back as they were a great price and were so cute. The calf was indeed wider that most boots but the top band of the boot still was way too snug on my leg, even with just leggings on. My verdict: Definitely a great boot but if you are curvy on the bottom, make sure to read the measurements because these still might be too snug. (Also! I was tricked by these laces, they don't actually make the top of the boot looser, they're just for decoration.)

Nice boots, well made, great for rain. However, I have wide calves and they did not fit me in that area. Definitely order a size smaller, they run very big! If you are a 1/2 size like me, order down 1 and 1/2 sizes, you may still need a smaller size than that! Not particularly warm, but perfect for rain!

I bought and returned these a little while back. I have rather thick calves and was really excited to find some great rain boots that claim to accommodate someone like me. Well, they do not. I squeezed my leg in there, bare, with no chance of ever getting in there should I wear tights, or God forbid, actual pants. No go for me. They are really cute if you are gifted with slimmer calves.

I purchased these boots as a replacement to a pair that had started leaking. I have very athletic calves and bought these for the "wide calf" descriptor. They will work, but I wish they were a bit wider. The size 10 is just wide enough to fit a pair of skinny jeans or leggings, but nothing more. The laces on the front are purely decorative, so don't count on them to give you more room in the calf area. They are very well cushioned and comfortable though!

Ordered a size 7 & my calves are 16.5 in circumference. They fit very snug in the calf and were tough to pull up (not a 17" circumference in the calves) can not wear jeans with them, maybe tights. The actual foot area was larger than my foot. Got a 7 and it feels like a 7.5-8 maybe. Would definitely need to wear thick socks.
