I was looking for oxford shoes that had style and did not look like your dad's wingtips (no offense, dads). I was reading the reviews and found it extremely helpful when ordering a size. I wear 11½-12, depending on the manufacture. I ordered size 11 and they fit perfectly. I am a little unsure about the soles of these shoes, not much there for such expensive shoes. Time will tell on how they hold up.

While the british tan was tempting me, I purchased the brown leather Brattle and I've found it to be a nice compromise between dress and casual. I feel like the brown color works in a variety of situations and the light leather accent really makes it stand out. However, there are a few things to be aware of.
As most others have mentioned, you'll want to order at least half a size smaller than your normal. I actually ordered both the half size smaller and the full size smaller and kept the best fit. Thanks Zappos for such a great return policy. Out of the box, the leather is pretty supple but you'll still want to apply some leather creme first thing. I've had some issue with the shoe harshly rubbing on the sides of my ankles, and I wish there was a hint more padding. The Brattle is nice, but I would favor my old TImberland's if I really needed to do more walking.

Great shoe, but the shoe felt a full size larger than marked. Although the color was said to be burgundy, it had more of a brown hue to me.

Very nice shoe. A little roomy, though. Would prefer a tighter fit. But good shoe nonetheless. Purchased primarily for the sole. Anxious to see if it holds up better to Minnesota winters than traditional leather sole.

These are great shoes. They're comfortable and they look really nice. But, they run really large. I normally wear an 8.5 and the 7.5 still has some wiggle room for me. I'd recommend ordering a half size and a full size smaller and keeping the one that looks best.

British tan has an orange hue to it...a little brown shoe polish tunes it down to a more classic tan. Great looking shoe overall. Relatively lightweight for a dress shoe and comfortable.

Wore these out in 6 months. Heel has broken down and now white plastic can be seen, sole near the toe is coming apart, and the upper is detaching from the sole near the toe. Maybe I am harder on shoes than most but I expect shoes at this price to last a bit longer. Loved the style and fit. Hated the durability.

I reviewed these shoes in November and felt they required an update. It has been only four months and I am having the same issues as Adam and Charlie, where the lighter colored appearance to the heel is rubbing off to show the bright white rubber underneath. Now I am not surprised that these shoes do not have real leather heels, but one would hope that the appearance would hold up for longer than four months. I have a desk job and do not wear these shoes every day, so it is not like I am putting them under a lot of wear and tear. I am giving these a two overall due to a lack of durability.

I normally wear a size 9-9.5 so I got this shoe in a 9 and a 9.5. The 9.5 is a half size too big so I'll be sending them back. "True to size" is a meaningless notion. Nobody really knows what that means.

Had these shoes in black and size 10.5 fit like a glove. Got the brown pair, same size, and they are considerably larger, and look slightly floppy. The forefoot of the sole wore out and split, allowing water to get through to my socks. The heel also is separating from the base of the shoe, causing the wood to break apart. They also cause considerable pain in my arch. The black ones I have held up much better and are much more comfortable, but for some reason the dark brown was a major disappointment in terms of quality.
