I have now owned 3 pairs of these sunglasses. I love them. They are VERY lite and comfortable. Unfortunately, eventually all 3 pair the lenses cracked where attached to the nose bridge. To let you know how well I take care of sunglass, I still have my first pair or Ray-Ban Aviators I bought back in 1984. Regardless of how well I like them, if they don't hold up any better than a 10.00 pair of drugstore sunglasses they are getting a bad rating.

I bought 2 pair and my boyfriend bought 4 pair--all developed cracks where the frame is atrached to the lenses. My current pair developed cracks in first couple of months.

Even with impeccable care, the coating at the top and bottom of the lenses will rub/scratch off. This makes them look horrible and distorts your view. I already sent them back once due to this problem and it just happens again, even from keeping them in the case or bag they came with. I was told that the lenses have to be plastic and must also have the coating to accommodate the prescription. As if this was not enough, one of the lenses is now coming out and will not pop back in (some type of frame distortion???). A very expensive pair of sunglasses and even more with the prescription added and they did not last long. I would personally not feel good about selling a product like this. Back to Ray Bans.

I purchased my first pair of stingray sunglasses in May 2013. They were great for three months until I dropped them (no more than 3 feet onto engineered hardwood floor) and the lense spider cracked. Luckily, insurance bought me a second pair in August 2013. Again, 4 months later, I was wearing them on my head and they dropped onto outdoor carpet floor and spidered the lense. Both times the lenses broke in the exact same place (the top of the left lense). Unlike the rat chasing the cheese, I tried my luck a third time. This time I was wearing the glasses at the lake. It was a very hot day so we decided to go jetskiing. The jet ski tipped over and into the water I went with my sunglasses. I was wearing a strap so I didn't lose the glasses. However, they cracked again not because I hit something but because the lenses were to hot when I hit the cold water. That was the last pair of Stingray's and possibly maui jims I will purchase. When you spend over $220 on a pair of sunglasses, you should expect them to be fairly durable. I have a pair of prescription burberry glasses that have never broken, cracked, etc for the past 4 years and they have been through far more than these sunglasses.

I want to like these glasses, but the lenses crack by the nose piece where they are attached to the frame. I am sending them back for repair. This will be a total of $60 in repairs on top of the $170 for the glasses. Bought the MJ Lighthouse and they are having the same issue. Very DISAPPOINTED.
