This is a well made shoe with one exception, the tongue of the shoe has no cushioning whatsoever and as a result, it rubs the top of the ankle. I found it too uncomfortable to keep on my feet after a few hours and had to take the shoes off and pack them up for return. The sole of the shoe is excellent and it has great support. I found the shoe wide, wider than most, but I was willing to deal with it because it is a solid shoe. The very cheap tongue pushed me over the top. Also, the shape of the shoe is more for a wide shaped oval foot. I can not wear a wide but these shoes would have been passable if not for the tongue issue. My foot is wide toe and narrow heel. As I stated, I would have kept the shoe in spite of it not being shaped for my foot because it is so extremely difficult to find a good shoe with excellent support and suited for PF. New Balance needs to redesign the shoe with a cushioned tongue. I'll stick with Saucony Integrity Walker 3.

Despite the Q&A that confirmed twice that removing the insole would accommodate orthotics, the answer was a little off. It did accommodat the orthotic, but then wouldn't accommodate my foot--I couldn't even get the shoe on.

I ordered a 12 S which fits but looks like a medium width at the least. These shoes are clunky; the sole protrudes from the shoes especially on the sides. Makes one prone to tripping over one's own feet or stumbling on steps. Perhaps this is true only of the narrow sizes? It seems the size of the soles do not match the size of the shoe lasts used in the process of making them. Perhaps the same sole is used for narrow shoes as for wider widths? Wish New Balance still made a 12 SS as it used to with a sole that fit the rest of the shoe.

The shoe was not comfortable at all. Not enough padding in the shoe, felt flat. Also was a half size too short. I ordered 10.5 W. My toes were to the very end of shoe.

I had originally ordered the sneakers in white, but they squeaked so I returned them but you only had them in black to replace. Now the black ones squeak. What is wrong with this particular style? Is that why they were on sale

So disappointed in these shoes, the PRODUCT INFORMATION STATES: "Premium leather upper for natural comfort, durability and breathability." If there ANY premium leather on them, it's a TINY strip. Returning ASAP.

I love these shoes, but won’t buy them again because I can’t wash them. With two different pairs, washing them made them smell horrible. I can’t have this type of shoe if it can’t be washed.

These are the ugliest sneakers that I have ever had on my feet. I would only wear that at a nursing home, either as a patient or an employee. Returning them today.

The shoe was not nice looking and far too wide. I sent it back. My old New Balance sneakers were nice looking - they didn't look like fat boxes. My foot is VERY narrow, and most of the newer New Balance sneakers look so wide. This is not smart.

Well, I wasted my money on these shoes. I was looking for something to accommodate wide feet (bunions) and my arch support inserts. I should have kept looking. The area of the sole under the front of the foot is inadequately cushioned, so after walking in these just a mile, I get sharp pains in my toe joints and no shock absorption to ameliorate my chronic knee problems. I spent all Summer avoiding these shoes (wore sandals instead for everything) and now am stuck having to buy something else, now that cold weather is coming. Plus, these are ugly and make my feet sweat, 'cause there is not enough ventilation. Big mistake buying these. I should have returned them, instead of trying to break them in. Wish I could get my money back.

I've been wearing these shoes to work every day for 3 months without issue. As of yesterday, I can no longer wear them without severe foot pain. $70 should last more than 3 months. Shoes have gone to heck. I am so frustrated.

I wanted a good walking shoe for walking on my lunch break at work. I love NB so I thought these would do the trick. There is no arch support. The bottom is very hard and stiff, very uncomfortable when going up the stairs. I always fit 9 1/2 wide but these were a little too short so my toes kept rubbing. I guess these will be going to the donation box. I don't recommend these shoes.

Smooth material. This is a professional look style. I love the look. A young was admiring the shoe and he said you just this new shoe? I said yes. This shoe attracts onlookers.

New Balance 577 in 9.5 W is perfect for my feet. Love that they have a leather upper. They took some time to break in and get comfortable, but they provide great support. Love the round toe and generous toe box. Very happy with these shoes and may order another pair as I anticipate wearing these out!
