Very comfortable shoes. I walk 4 miles as often as I can. These shoes are lightweight and comfy and make me feel as though I am walking on air.

Love these shoes! I recently started buying wide shoes and Brooks are the best. I wear these with orthotic inserts for plantar fasciitis and they work well.

I really like this neutral shoe. I have work the Defyance 2 and 3 and tried other shoes and always come back to this one. I ordered these and actually ran a couple times in them and then ran the NY Marathon (which I know you're not supposed to do!). I had absolutely no problems, no blistering etc. A really great, comfy shoe.

I can see why this is a popular shoe. I ordered it, along with the Ghost 4, to replace my Ghost 2. I decided to keep both since I'm always looking for new running shoes. This shoe is a bit more snug than the Ghost, especially in the toe box, but there is still plenty of room (I have a wide toe box and this works fine). The whole shoe seems to hug the foot well, and it's very light. I haven't tried it on the road yet, just jogging around the house. The one gripe is that it's super ugly. The crosshatch design looks very 80's to me, and the McDonald-land color scheme--well, it's not a fashion sneaker, but what were they thinking? The Ghost 4 is much more attractive.

I love this shoe! I usually buy this type or another from Brooks. Never have been disappointed.

I am running my first half-marathon this year and needed a good pair of running shoes. So after being fitted for these in one of those running stores I purchased them from Zappos. I love them! I really have noticed a difference in running. My left hip and foot were causing me problems with my old shoes, but ever since I started running with these I have not felt that pain. These shoes are super comfortable and pretty lightweight. I would definitely recommend them. I plan on buying more pairs in the future.

I had the Brooks Defyance 3 before buying these. These are very similar to the Defyance 3, but it feels like the heel slips just a little. I have very narrow heels, and often have trouble with slipping.

This shoe felt really light and skimpy and I was not impressed by the construction of this shoe. My foot also rolled slightly when I walked in it. I sent this shoe back.

I walk 12-14 miles per week and have painful arches. These shoes are the bomb! No pain, very comfortable. I bought 1/2 size bigger than my actual size. Fits nicely. Looks just like picture.

I love this shoe; it is a fabulous neutral runner. I also loved that my heel does not slip with this shoe. Comfortable, secure fit. I always order Brooks a half size up, and I did with this shoe as well and it is a great fit.

I wear a 10 3A or 4A shoe so you can imagine how hard it is to find a sneaker that fits. This is it. I took them out of the box, put them on, and went for a run and then to a zumba class. Perfect. No break-in period. No blisters. Light but supportive.

These shoes run very very small! I wear an 8 in a running shoe (7½ in a normal dress shoe), and had to get a 9! But I really love these shoes. My feet tend to roll outward slightly and these keep me stable. Try them!

These shoes are so amazingly comfortable. I had a pair of Brooks before that I loved, and I forgot to take them on vacation with me. Knowing Zappo's usually upgrades to quicker shipping, I ordered them online and they showed up two days later (free upgraded shipping) and I was able to go running the rest of my vacation. They have great support and stability, but are also incredibly comfortable with the right amount of springy cushion. I would reccommend them to anyone.

Nice lightweight, low profile shoe. Seems to have a little less structure than my previous Brooks (Glycerin) but well cushioned. Tongues seem to twist a bit but not a problem so far. I'm a walker who needs a lot of cushion, not a runner. Great styling and color for a running shoe.

Nice, lightweight supportive shoes. I needed narrow heels and ordered an N and these are great. I normally wear an 11, but needed to add not only my orthotics but heel cups, so I got a 12 and they're perfect.

Wonderful support and cushioning. Gives you good forward motion. Well padded forefoot and holds heel snug. Feels really stable. Only problem is it runs at least 1 size small. Order up! I have a narrow foot and the 2A width was great!

I bought these shoes for my daughter, she has extremely flat feet and her feet hurt constantly. She loves these shoes, she says they are very comfortable and it has a very good arch support.

Fabulous running shoes for those who don't need correction for over or under pronation. Comfortable but run a bit small. I wear 6.5 dress shoes and in these shoes I wear a size 8 to allow room in the toe bed.

These are the next generation of the Defyance 3. I was very happy in the Defyance 3. While the Defyance 4 works well enough in terms of a neutral shoe, it has a little more cushion and my heel slips so I have to wear socks that come up above the shoe line or my socks become bunched up under my feet. That said, I will continue to buy this and the Defyance line as my regular running shoe.

This is a very comfortable, well made shoe. I found it to be a little tight across the instep, but that may stretch out in time.

I liked the look. I could really feel the arch in one of the shoes, probably just my feet. Also they seemed a little on the narrow side. So sending back to continue the search. I normally wear New Balance.

Hate it! Hate it! Hate it! This shoe is very uncomfortable. It is extremely tight and hard at the ball of the foot. I thought it would get better after breaking it in but it did not. Try to lace it different ways but not. It is hard and tight. Very painful.

This seems like a great cushioned shoe, but is a little higher in elevation than I had hoped. In addition, I ordered a half-size up after reading the other reviews. Although the reviews are usually on target, I did not find it to be true this time. The arch hits me in the wrong place and the additional length causes me to trip. If width is the issue in sizing up, I recommend loosening the shoestrings toward the forefoot.
