I ordered the size S/M of the beanie, knowing that size M usually fits me. The cap fits me well - snug and form fitting. However, the length of the beanie is so short that i have full it down tight to fully cover my ears. Upon sideways movement of the head, the beanie rides up, leaving my ears partially exposed. I am not too surprised that the product looks better than it functions - one can figure from multiple outdoor forums that The North Face is nowadays more of a 'fashion' brand than a serious outdoor gear maker!

Way too small and skimpy

I own a couple of these hats back from when you still offered one size fits all. The OSFA seemed large for my head but are quite comfortable and I would recommend them highly if they still existed. Alas, NF seems to have discontinued that sizing. I ordered the largest size and it fit tight on my head, which I could live with, however, whenever I moved my head the least little bit, the hat slides up and exposes the lobes of my ears. Returned, will not purchase this item again unless they start making larger sizes.

I LOVE the old one size fits all version of this hat. I have two of them and wanted another color so I ordered the L/XL version hoping it would be the same as the old one size fits all. It is smaller/tighter and I am really disappointed because I want the old version so bad. If you have a smaller head buy this but doesn't work for me.

For an XL it is very small. I got one a few years back and they use to be one size fits all and fit great, this new model compared to my old one is too small. Gave it to the wife.

Not sure why this hat has such negative reviews. Granted it's not the cutest hat ever. But I have like 20 winter hats and other than ones with ear flaps this one is the warmest.

Just like the other reviews: the new sizing is terrible. I needed bigger hats for my kids this year and they are too short. I wanted to replace my old Denali which was perfect for wearing over my ponytail or bun and still covering my head. The new sizing is short and doesn't even cover my hair. So disappointed. Please bring back the old sizing.

I have purchased this hat for everyone in my family in the past. This year, all were returned. The change in sizing resulted in hats that were way too short and didn't cover ears. My girls and I all have small heads, but long hair. If we are wearing a ponytail the hat doesn't even reach our hairline. I ordered a kids M hat for my 3 year old and had to return it for being too short! The adult sizes are more appropriate for children. Not sure what happened, but very disappointed. Please bring back the old sizing!

In past years these Denali beanies were long enough to completely cover your ears and not ride up when you walked. Now they are pretty useless to protect your ears from the cold. Very disappointing!

This used to be my favorite hat. I bought several of them each year for myself and my husband; seriously, I have them in at least 10 colors. I purchased some for my mother when she lost her hair from chemo. I live in Minnesota and wear them 5 months out of the years. But this year's model is not the same! They made the hat much smaller. I have no idea why they did this but the product is now ruined for me. Please bring back the previous style of Denali hat, North Face!

Yes, it's true, North Face has shrunk the sizing on this hat, and it no longer fits comfortably. I should have paid attention to the other reviews.

I ordered this hate back in November when it got only positive reviews! So glad to see people have noticed that North Face changed it. I am a woman with a slightly large head. Last years hat, my favorite. This year's Large didn't cover my ears. Yep, went back. It was also lighter and less warm, even if it had fit correctly. Oh but the new colors were nice...oh well!

The Vanadis Grey hat looks nothing like the picture. The hat is a lot darker than the picture and looks almost blue. Im not happy with the hat at all.
