They're comfortable and breathe well. So far I've really enjoyed them. The leather wears nicely and quickly if you wear them outdoors at all. In the evenings I take my dog to a wooded park about 5 blocks from my apartment and the day-to-day scuffs look nice. I walk to work (~3 miles each way) so I tend to burn through soles pretty quickly. I haven't worn them every day but have probably worn them for around 20 trips to date and the wear on the soles is relatively low. Walking on sidewalk, the hard rubber outsoles definitely click -- though not as loud as a true leather sole. So if noisy shoes bother you, you might want to consider a different pair. Overall, an excellent boot.

These boots are my favorite pair of boots. I highly recommend these boots to anyone who's searching for a awesome looking, comfortable, durable boots.

These boots are great. I mainly bought them for the look, rather than any other factor, and I've been pretty pleased with them. They're not the most comfortable boot in the world but once you break them in you can wear them & walk in them for a long time without any sort of issue. The soles give me very good traction on slick ice, which is good as I live up north. When I first got them I was concerned they were a bit small, as my left boot pressed down on my toe, but it turned out to be alright. I'd consider getting a half-size higher if you are planning on wearing some heavy-duty socks underneath. I wear a liner sock and a smartwool over that, but wouldn't be able to get anything more in there.

A very good looking boot. I bought for my son-in-law and he loved, but had to exchange for a half size smaller. So it runs big if you are between sizes.

My boyfriend loved these boots. They fit true to size and, so far, hold up really well! He works 9 hours a day, standing, and they are not comfortable under those conditions, but as far as an everyday shoe, they're great.

Right out of the box, I have to say, I'm liking these boots very much. Their construction feels very solid. I wear a size 8, and they feel true to size. They're very comfortable, stylish, and you can't beat the price! Now Caterpillar's got me looking at their other boots. Haha. Gonna need a pair in black! :)

Shoe is stylish and will look nice with pants. I do not recommend if purchasing a work boot. They are not comfortable to be in all day and the heel is very hard. For the money expected more.

Really like these boots. I’m pleasantly surprised at the quality for the price. I have previously purchased a pair of Chippewa Service Boots and a pair of Bed Stu. Both were returned for different reasons. The fit of these Catepillar boots is perfect for my foot. I will be getting a pair of insoles, as I have high arches and there is minimal arch support in these boots. The style is versatile, and I already work them with dark wash jeans and a sport coat, as well as with olive chinos at my office. They are a recent purchase, so I have no idea about durability or long term quality yet. Initial impression is very positive. I will update this review later if my opinion changes.

The pair I received already appear to be slightly broken in, they are quite comfortable. There are screws on the sole which can be heard occasionally but its not a big deal. They are true to size with very mild arch support. Look great with dress pants and a button-up. Would recommend to anyone and receive complements all the time!

I've had these boots for about two years now and I absolutely love them. I prefer to wear boots as opposed to other shoes: I like the support, the feel, and the style. When I bought these I was looking for a pair of boots that had a WW2 feel to them. The style alone set them apart and I knew I needed these boots. 2 years later I'm still happy with them. They are a bit stiff when you get them out of the box but once you start wearing them regularly they should loosen up a bit. Ninja shoes these are not; expect to be noticed because walking in these can be pretty loud with those heels. All in all if you have a fancy date in the city and want to impress, buy these, you won't be disappointed.

Wow, these boots rock. First of all like a fool I ordered a pair from another online store 1 month before my European trip...only to find out 2 days before my flight they were sold out, Stinkers! So Zappos to the rescue, they arrived next day. Thus I had no chance to break them in. However, they were so comfortable that wearing them daily for 10 days was a breeze. Stylish, and with good support they not only handled the London fog and puddles no problem, but sat well for afternoon Tea. Well made as Caterpillar always is, these were true to size and get 2 thumbs up from me.

Solid, comfortable, and good looking. Decided to branch out from my usual boot in an effort to find something that balanced looks, durability, and (most importantly) comfort--Caterpillar's Abe TX nailed it! I found the break-in period to only last about a day and before I knew it these boots were a perfect fit. The wood-sole adds a bit of noise when walking, but nothing out of the ordinary for a boot of this size/weight. All in all, I've received countless compliments on these boots as well as enjoyed wearing them in the workshop everyday....Money well spent!

Beautiful boots, you need these. I will say, as a former boot salesman, size down a little. Even though they'e lace-ups, if you break the leather in patiently they will fit you like no other.

I found the tow box of these boots to be narrower than others of a similar style that I own and wear frequently. This is disappointing since they are not available in a wider width.

I would have loved these if they didn’t fall apart with very moderate wear. I have worn them in very light weather, 1-3 days a week max and have only had them about 5 months and the heel and sole are separating from the shoe. Very disappointed.

Fit true to size, great styling, good build quality, but very uncomfortable. There is no padding in the foot bed. Just slightly more comfortable than walking barefoot.

These were my favorite boots that I ever had. I love the style so much. However, I have them for about a year and only wear them occasionally and the sole is falling apart. I am convinced that either you have to spend big money to get quality or workmanship in this society has tanked so bad that this is the norm no matter how much you spend. Sorry for the negative review but I am being completely honest.

These boots have a great look, no doubt. However, I ordered a 9 at first, as I wear a size 9 when it comes to tennis-shoes and a 9D for cowboy boots. They were large by a half size so I exchanged for an 8.5. The 8.5 fit. I noticed, after looking closely, that the canvas seemed to be painted/dyed and it was flaking off at the edges. Also, the seam (inward) next to the eyelets was "busted out" and basically not a seam for that 1" or so. The seam at the inside of the tongue, above the arch of the foot, also kind of hurt the tops of my feet. I may have just received a pair from a bad batch. I'll just say that I am extremely picky when it comes to boots, and these didn't give me the same feeling I'd anticipated when I purchased them. If you aren't so concerned about these little things, these boots definitely have a great look and a quality leather. If you are feeling unsure about ordering these boots after considering doing so, I'm sorry. I am merely giving feedback based on the one pair I had that did fit. If you would like a good Caterpillar boot fairly similar in style though, the Caterpillar Morrison is something I would recommend.

Horrible idea for a shoe bottom - there are screws that stick out from the heels and scratch wood floors.
