I am super disappointed with these pants. I have a Kuhl skirt that I absolutely love, so I had high hopes for these. Sadly, these pants are not made for women with the smaller waist/larger hips body type. I have a 28" waist and 39" hips, and tried the size 8. The pants were snug in the hips and rear, and huge in the waist. There was an about 2" gap between my lower back and the waistband. Not even a belt could take care of that. The size 10 would be too big, to be sure, and the size 6 would not be roomy enough for my hips/rear. I wish Kuhl would make pants for curvy women. For now I'll have to be happy with their skirts.

The pants themselves are great, great color, great fabric, lots of pockets, exactly the style I was looking for for hiking...the problem is they are not sized for women. If you have any kind of hips or butt you will need to size up. I'm a 2, I ordered a 2 and a 4 and I have to send them back. I'll probably exchange them for a 6 and have a tailor take in the huge gap in the back if I don't find anything better. Narrow hipped girls: enjoy!

I agree with the previous poster who liked the design, features and fabric of the pants. I also was looking for good hiking pants with a small percentage of spandex/lycra to allow for easy movement. And I also thought the pants were designed for a woman with no hips/curves. I could have easily had 2-3 inches taken in at the back seam and waistband. If I can find a pair on sale, I might buy and alter, but for hiking pants I wouldn't pay full price and then more for alterations.

Great pants. I have narrow hips though, so those with curves may find these tight. Otherwise, small hip ladies will love these. Lightweight, lots of useful pockets, and length adjustable. Love the carbon color. Oh, and the back pockets have flaps - good for us ladies that need a little lift in the back area (aka flat bottom).

They are the most comfortable pants I've ever purchased. Love all the pockets. They fit perfectly around my hips. I am small framed. Wish they came in short lengths.

Love these pants! I bought them for hiking but they go very easily from active to casual wear, just throw on a denim jacket. The roll up is easy to use and make these pants even more versatile. The fabric is a bit stretchy and a nice medium weight. I ordered an 8 and a 10 and kept the 10, the hips are a bit narrow as others have said.

I wanted to love these and had been eying them for several weeks before ordering, but alas I have to send them back. They are very well made with nice fabric, good stitching, and deep pockets, and I like the brown color. However, the rise fit strangely and (pardon my frankness) dug into my butt-crack, making for a not-so-flattering rear-view. I have other low-rise pants that don't have this problem. I normally wear a 0 or 2 and ordered the 2 and 4. Both had the same problem with the rise. Aside from this issue, the 2 fit well (I'm 5'4, 115 lbs, 26 in. waist). They were a tad long on me, and the bottom hem was stitched in a way that would make them difficult to alter.

The material is just thick enough to feel durable but is not heavy, it breathes and stretches. I ordered a 2 and the hips were kind of snug on me (26 waist, 35 hips), but like I said, the fabric stretches and it was not noticeable after sitting in them a few minutes. I am 5'0" and the length was a bit long, but luckily, my hiking shoes give me about 1½" of height so it i doable. I had to give them an extra roll when snapped up to avoid the dreaded "Hobbit pants" look. Overall, these are excellent pants, but I returned them in favor of the Prana Monarch Convertible Pants that were more flattering on me and fit better.

I purchased these pants to wear canoeing, and I was very pleased with the style and fit. I am curvy, 5'5, 145 lbs., and usually wear size 8 or 10. I ordered the 10 and it was a perfect fit. The bottom of the pant legs got quite wet, but dried very quickly. I rolled them up later, and the button cuff looks great. I highly recommend these pants.

These far exceeded my expectations as well made yet stylish travel pants. They are highly recommend!

Really love these pants! The first pair shipped to me / the zipper was not sewn correctly - Bummer! But in true Zappos fashion, they were really great about sending out another pair immediately! Kuhl is a great brand.

Kuhl makes great products, but the comfort of their different fabrics varies. These pants' fabric is great: stretchy, soft, sturdy. The flaw is the same flaw Kuhl seems to have in other women's pants: the waist is too big for me, though the rest of the pant fits like a glove. I didn't want to try to take in the waistband myself (as I often do), so I have taken them to an alterationist, who agreed that they are exceptionally well made and it's best to have them professionally altered. So my net cost is more, but I'm still glad I got them. They promise to be a great, durable hiking pant.

Completely agree with the reviews about fit. I purchased this brand because my husband owns a bunch of their pants and tops. He looks great in them and the quality is fantastic. Of course since I'm a fan I wanted some of my own. Huge bummer alert. While the fabric and quality gets great marks, the cut and fit may fit a woman, but only if she's 5'11, 105 pounds, and never had a baby. I am 5'2 114 pounds and normally wear a petite size 2 or a 4. Because the images of the pants looked a bit on the fitted size, I ordered up and got a size 6. I squeeezed into them - terrible fit: the butt was too tight, the waist too big, the crotch cut too long and all over too slim of a cut. If you have narrow hips and long legs, still plan on ordering 2-3 sizes up.

I really like these pants. So much this is the fourth color I've purchased. They don't stretch too much throughout the day as I work in them, which I really like. Easy to move in yet not too loose. Recommend them anyday. I'm 5'6" 115lbs, athletic build and I ordered a size 2

Finally the travel pants of my dreams! They fit beautifully (high enough in back and no annoying gap of excess in the waistband), the fabric is a quick-drying kind but feels soft, the workmanship is top notch (I sew and notice that sort of thing), and they're very stylish, especially the booty-enhancing flaps on the back pockets. Thank you Kuhl and thank you Zappos! A couple more colors would be great (I'm thinking stone and navy)!

These are my "go to" pants throughout the year. During warm weather I roll them up, when it's cool I wear them long (although, at 5'4" I've had to shorten them about 2 inches, wish they'd make a "short" version of these.) Still, I've had one pair for a year now, and always feel good about the quality of the fabric and the VERY USEFUL cargo pockets, which free me up from carrying a bag. These are probably the most functional casual pants on the market.

I am 5'2" and 120lbs. The size 4 fit perfectly but is a touch too long. I was worried that my panty lines would show up in the rear but strangely they did not show. This pant is very comfortable, and the snap pockets fit my iPhone 5 great!

These are such cute pants! My boyfriend says they are sexy without trying to be sexy. They are cut a little higher in the back and a little lower in the front which I think is very flattering. Super good quality! I love the fabric and they don't stretch out after a day of wear. I picked my exact size and they fit perfectly. Worth every penny. I bought the red ones too and that color is great too.

These pants are awesome for traveling and just hanging out. Fabric is durable but still light and quick-drying. Comfortable fit, button cargo pockets good for carrying things like passports and boarding passes, easily convert from long pants to capri-length. Maintain good look/shape/fit even after a few wears. I'm 5'9", 150 pounds and size 8 fits just fine.

Super comfy - slight stretch and very lightweight made it comfortable to be on a bus for hours or hiking through Vietnam when it was 95 degrees and 90% humidity. It monsooned - I was soaked and by the time we finished breakfast in a restaurant my pants were completely dry. Highly recommend. Plus they are hiking/travel pants but they're not so dorky compared to other travel pants on the market.

I purchased these Kuhl Splash Roll-Up pants in 2 different colors. I love them both. These have become my everyday hang out around the house, go for walks, run errands pants. Very comfortable and versatile with the capri option. I'm 5'6 and generally wear a size 6 and these fit perfectly!

I can't agree with reviewer who complained that these pants don't work for women with broader hips. I'm a big-hipped, curvy lady, and these pants fit great. I like them so much I bought 2 pairs. The fabric is light and breathable, with a little give so they don't bind when you sit or climb. The styling is nice enough that I can wear them to work like chinos. I see there are a couple of new colors available now, so I may have to purchase a third pair.

Nice (have 4 pairs) a bit inconsistent but always too big in the waist, so need tailoring. Still, worth the extra effort for pants I live in when traveling to remote sites.
