This is a great layering item from Patagonia. It's got a really nice cut and the quality is what you'd expect from them. I bought this for a family member who wears an xl or xxl depending on the item. He definitely needed an xxl with this item because of the slimmer cut. Would definitely recommend!

The best vest you will find! I have the Patagonia Better Sweater 1/4 Zip, which keeps me so warm I sometimes even get hot - I'm so cold natured so that is major warmth; I ordered this vest for my dad because he is typically on the warm side and he loved it! Having the chest-pocket is an added bonus also. My dad is usually between an XL-XXL so I ordered the size bigger since he'd be wearing at least another shirt underneath. Fit perfectly - a little loose too for extra movement.

Great quality and feel. The fit is roomy in the shoulders and chest but trimmer in the abdominal area. I just received my second vest on Christmas day in black. I am very pleased with my new vests (I much prefer these to my previous Columbia and Vineyard Vines).

This vest is so much nicer than the usual fleece vests, both in fabric and in style. It fits my husband's contours rather than looking bulky like fleece vests. He loves it and has hardly taken it off since he got it.

Awesome vest. Not too light, not too heavy. Very comfortable and well made. I am 6'0, 230 lbs and the XL fits perfectly.

I was looking for a lightweight vest that didn't look cheap (like some fleece vests) or tacky (like some puffer vests)and this vest fit the bill. Looks great and the material is very soft. It has modern cut-not too slim, not baggy or bulky. I'm 6'00" 180 lbs. and the size large fit perfectly. Excellent service from Zappos once again as I received my order even faster than I anticipated.

Just buy it! I love this vest. 6'1", 180lbs and size large fits perfectly. Not too big like many vests are. I wish it came in more colors.

Bought this vest for my father's 84th birthday, everyone and their brothers wear North Face here in the Bay Area so I knew Patagonia was a great company and made wonderful products. To make a long story short, he loved the way this vest looked. It isn't the usual black fleece, it had a nicer fabric. And to my surprise, Dad knew of Patagonia products already. Thanks Zappos.

Love this vest. It fits true to size and washes very well. I thought the black might fade but it has kept its color and been washed several times. Kind of pricey but very stylish!

This was a beautiful vest but too large. I ordered a L and kept it. The finish is nice. It is more of a sweater than a fleece finish. It is long and straight and not for wide hips. There is full shoulder coverage. The quality is beautiful.

It's a very comfortable vest, stylish, not too tight or too loose. Can be warm alone on 40 or 50 degrees days and as a layer on colder days. Very versatile style wise as well.

It is too bad that Patagonia has gone to regular sizes for this vest. Regular is too tight. If you used to order large you should hold out for relaxed. This is a stupid policy.

Best fleece vest I own. I am very happy with the purchase and wear it all the time (too much probably). I got an XL and the size was accurate. The only negative I would add (and it is not a big negative) is that it does pill a little bit like a normal fleece. When you get it, it does not look like it would pill since it is so smooth, but it does. Not really badly, just a little bit. So don't be surprised. Then again, I have worn my vest a ton under another jacket, so perhaps that is why.

My husband always says "Oh, I don't really need anything," when I suggest some item of clothing. I liked my Better Sweater Vest so much that just ordered him one without even asking and he absolutely loves it. Since early December has worn it almost every day and will readily admit that it was a great find and purchase. He is 6'4", 185-190# and the Large fits perfectly, even in length.

I own two of these and two of the Better Sweaters. Great quality and durability. They definitely keep you nice and warm when it's 40 degrees outside. Patagonia as usual outdoing itself.

Awesome vest, classic, very stylish, works with almost anything. Super warm, pockets are great, the perfect vest for southern damp chilly weather when you don't want a bulky jacket, but works great under hard shells without all the bulk, love this vest, color is perfect.

LOVE this better sweater vest. I own the better sweater. I love it so much that I got the vest. It is comfortable, easily laundered and looks great after many washings. The vest is nice because it's sort of "hands-free."

Bought this for my husband and the quality is nice. It looks like a knit sweater on the outside, and is fleecy soft on the inside. Patagonia always makes great products, and this one is awesome!

Bought one vest for each of my two college age sons for holiday gifts. The vests are the perfect weight with the right amount of styling. The boys wear them constantly.

Fit my husband just right. He is 6'4" weighs about 190 lbs. waist 34. I was worried it would look to wide on him but length and width is just right with a shirt underneath. The color is great more of a dark royal blue. The weight of product is good not a flimsy vest.
