I really wanted to like these shoes! I ordered them from Zappos in a 7 (I wear a 7 or sometimes a 7.5), and they are exquisite! But, they are very stiff (I am sure they will soften over time) and the side of the shoe was too tall and rubbed against my ankle bone. Maybe I have weird feet, because it didn't seem like any other reviewers mentioned this. In fact, I have this problem a lot with shoes. I love Frye shoes! I wish these fit!

I so wanted to love this shoe, but it was HUGE. Frye's tend to run large anyway, but it was ridiculous this time. I normally wear a 6.5, but I almost always wear a size 6 in Frye's. So I ordered a 6 in these oxfords. It was HUGE. I think even a 5.5 would be too big. So sad, though I have to say I wasn't thrilled with the Slate color (I was hoping it would be more grey & less green), so perhaps it's for the best. Gorgeous shoe, though!

I absolutely love the look of these shoes and they are very supportive and solidly made. They are very stiff and I haven't broken them in too much. I wore them for a 40 minute walk around my neighborhood and I ended up with some blisters on my pinky toes. Ouch! However, I think once I do break them in they will be great.

These are beautiful, fashionable shoes, and much more lightweight than I imagined they'd be...but unfortunately, even the 5.5 was too big for me! I normally wear a 6 in shoes and a 5.5 in Frye; but these 5.5s were inches too long in the foot and way too wide through the back of the shoe even with the laces pulled as tight as possible and thick tights on. Oh well. For ladies with bigger feet, it definitely seems worth giving these a go!

I don't know if it's the pair that I got, but they totally slip in the heel. Order down one size? Also they are a little clunkier than I expected. One of the things I like about Frye is that they somehow, miraculously make my sz 9 feet look small. Not sure these will even if I order down one size.

I bought these in the tan. I love the color, style and quality; however, they are stiff! That, combined with the slightly narrow footbed, is why I find them to be uncomfortable. Maybe a different color would be a softer leather(?).

Love these. I get so many comments. I wish they had more arch support though.

These looked more like an Oxford cowboy boot than I expected so I'm sending them back as they won't work with my office wardrobe. They also ran large and you'd definitely need to get something put on the bottoms as they are slick. That said they are well made and looked great with jeans.

Okay, obviously these are awesome shoes. They're extremely well made. They're even kind of beautiful if this style is your thing (it's mine). The construction is amazing. The color I ordered (antique brown) is unique and goes with anything. But there was a huge, glaring problem. The heel design on these doesn't hold my foot in and I could feel my feet sliding up and down. This was a design flaw. The only way I could stop this was to do the goose-step. Which I'm not going to do. Also, these slide around on carpet. There's no grip at all on the leather soles. This could be a safety issue. So, regretfully I'm sending these back for a refund. I could almost cry, because I really thought they'd be perfect. Darn it.

They require quite a bit of break in time. I almost returned them because they were so stiff, but the more I wear them they are loosening up. Everyone loved them so much that I thought I would keep trying them. I am wearing them once a week because they feel like you are wearing wooden shoes. I hope they will keep getting better, because I love the way they look and they go with so many outfits. So the jury is still out. I will keep wearing them and report back. Oh I also had to get half a size smaller than I normally wear.

I like this shoe very much but it definitely runs large. Unfortunately, and inexplicably, there is no half size between the 10 and 11 so I will have to wear these with thick socks. Since I live in the desert that isn't optimal but since I walked in them I have to keep them. I wish Frye would not cut off their half sizes at 9 1/2!

They definitely run narrow, but loosening the laces helps. Also, initially they are super stiff and I can feel the outline of the heel all the way under my foot. I'm hoping based on all these great reviews that they'll soften up. If not this was one expensive purchase for nothing.

Great looking shoe, but too narrow at the toes. I had bought a pair of Frye's incredibly perfect Carson oxfords and hoped these would fit the same.

Very cute shoes and I'm always a fan of Frye quality. These ran too small. I'm usually a size 9 in Frye and I could barely squeeze my feet into these. Order a size up.

This is a gorgeous shoe. However, the leather is insanely hard and takes a while to stretch enough so that my little toe is not painfully squished in the toe box. In contrast, the heel was too big and my heels slipped out with every step. Yup, blisters! I took care of this with heel pads. Even though I love the look of this shoe, I would not buy another pair again. For the price, I hoped to receive a better product.
