I have been searching for the "perfect sandal" for many years and finally found it in this shoe. The arch support is amazing as is the overall comfort. It offers me stability and style that even clunky looking sandals don't give. This is my second pair and would have more if they were available in different colors of the Helen Plus. Also, while I usually wear a medium width, the Plus fits perfectly.

I have the regular width and felt that I needed more width in the toe bed, however, the extra width everywhere else was too much so I am returning.

Love this sandal! I have bought them in black and brown and they go with everything! Great for work or casual wear or even going out if dressing casually. I searched for YEARS to find a sandal this comfortable! I hope eventually they make the Helen Plus in more colors because I will get them if they do!

A little tight around my big toe but after a week they fit perfect. I normally buy an 8 but for some reason I need a 9 in this type of sandal. I really wish they made 1/2 sizes. I could walk miles and miles in these shoes.

This new pair replaced a pair I had for over 8 years that finally wore out. They are, by far, the most comfortable shoes I own. I have these Helen's in 5 different colors. I will say it takes a couple of weeks of wearing them a few hours each day to break them in but once the soften up and mold to your feet they are so comfortable and give me the the arch support I need for my arthritic feet. I can wear them all day and my feet do not hurt, even on all day shopping trips.

I am so excited that you are offering Mephistos in the Plus (wide) size. Having a wide foot (inherited them) has always made it so hard to get cute stylish shoes. I have worn Birkenstocks for years but always wished I could get the more stylish looks that Mephistos offer. Until now I have not found them in wide. Thank you so much for making this size available.

I have tried 3 different sizes in this sandal and even tho I never wear wide shoes this is what finally worked for me with the Mephisto Helen. This sandal runs narrow while the length is true to size. I read other reviews where buyers complained about the tightness of the toe strap and while I found this to be true when I initially tried on the sandal, the leather stretched to a comfortable degree upon my first all day wearing. The Helen has great arch support and is totally comfortable.

I love my Mephisto’s and have quite a few pairs. These latest ones were to replace an old, exactly the same pair but .. I’m finding the leather this time to be very hard and am ‘wearing them in’ which I’ve never had to do before. I will persevere because I love the brand so much.

These are my second pair of Helen Plus (black waxy). I do find them slightly more comfortable than Birkenstocks. I have really high arches, for a fashionable sandal these are great I think my first pair of Helen plus were a little bit wider than these by by just a few mm. I didn't need much break in time as I thought because the toe area looked a little tighter than my original pair, but upon walking around I realize there was no rub. If a half size go up to next full. I recommend these.

I have 3 other pairs of this style, Helen, and wanted another causal pair, liking the looks of the 'grey twist' for it's gun metal shine and the weave texture! However the material they are made of is very sharp, the toe slot was super snug, (no problems with my other 3 pairs) and the strap going from the toe to the cross strap, really cut into my big toe flexing zone :( Sadly I'm returning them. I wear a size EU 39 or an average 8 to 8 1/2 US size.

I’ve worn this style for years. This is my 3rd pair. These were too narrow, had to return.

The pair I received had a very thick and sharp area that went between my toes. Other than that, they are stunning and my purchase and return experience was very professional. I’ll be back for more Mephistos, just not this style unfortunately.

I have had this kind of Mephisto sandal for 10 years and am still wearing them. Their sizing has gotten narrower and consequently I was unable to wear this sandal even though I ordered the wide one. I love Mephisto shoes and own several other versions. I was disappointed in this sandal which I loved.

I didn't have the toe tightness some reviewers stated. I did get true to size whereas the regular Helen's, I had to go up a size. Also, in recent purchases, the regular Helen's have been getting narrower. The plus Helen's are great. My only complaint is that they only come in 2 colors.

I tried the 38's first, seemed really long but I really wanted them so I returned then tried the 37's and they were too short with my toes pushing the edges out. The box says your feet should be 6mm from the edge. I'm usually a 38 or a 7.5. Really nice shoes, but the sizing is driving me crazy. All the rest of Memphistos are much too narrow and I can't wear any of them. The extra bit of width was great for me.

I love these sandals but have owned them for just a year (and only wore them for one summer) and the cork is breaking down where my big toe joint is. This is extremely disappointing. The bottom sole is not worn at all. I refuse to pay this much to get them fixed when it seems like there is some kind of defect.

Unlike the other reviewers I did not think the toe was too tight at all. In fact I found it too loose. I think as the shoe gets broken in over time I think it will adjust. I actually am an 11W and can at times still wear an 11M so I wouldn't say my foot is overly wide. I ordered up a size based on what other reviewers said and the shoe fits like a glove. However, it is still not quite wide enough which surprised me. I am still going to keep them because I think they will adjust over time. They are very comfortable even though I haven't worn them anywhere. I like the strap over the top that will keep the shoe closer to the foot providing more support which is what I want. They also look stylish enough for me to keep.

I have both a regular Helen sandal and a plus one. Unlike other reviewers, I did not notice a difference in the space for the big toe between the two of them. However, it was strange that the plus is supposed to be wider, but the same size is 1 cm longer. If someone needs it longer, they could just order a size up, but wider needs a wider shoe. So the shoe looks somewhat awkward and clunky because the "extra" shoe extends beyond the ends of the toes. I've ordered the smallest size they sell. The shoe is about 1 cm wider at the very end of the shoe. However, it is the same width (maybe 1/8 inch wider) at the "bunion area" of the foot, which is where extra width is needed. So even though it is a plus, the sides of the foot still extend over the width of the shoe around the bunion area, so it is a bit uncomfortable, as the foot bed has a lip. Overall the shoe has an excellent foot bed, the leather was attractive and soft enough to wear immediately, and the shoe is sturdy and well made. If your foot is shaped like the shoe, it would be great, but for bunions on wide, short feet, it looks like flippers and the bunions extend over the foot bed.

These sandal would be more comfortable if the footbed didn't cup your foot so much in front. They are well made and adjustable but not very comfortable. I am disappointed and would recommend trying them out on carpeting for a good long time.

I got these after my B-width foot proved too wide for the regular Helen. They are about the same width as my regular width Birkenstocks. Overall I'm pretty happy with them but am disappointed that the suede in the footbed is not as soft as in the regular ones, and they seem to have less padding. I can see what other reviewers mean about the fit of the toe strap but fortunately it's just right for me. I hope Mephisto will make more styles and color options in the Plus version in the future!

The shoe feels wider than normal. The toe separator is unflexible and stiff. Causes pain between both toes.

This shoe overall runs small. If you get a size that fits, the comfort would be over the moon.

These would be great if they were made with more room at the front and back. You must size up with these...except I am a size 12 and so there was no 13 available. Had to send them back.
