I'm 5'2 and I found that the adult Hunter boots were overwhelming. I didn't mind the reflectors so I went ahead and bought a pair in the youth size! As a woman's size 6, I kept on debating between Youth 4 or Youth 5. I ended up choosing Youth 5 and I am quite pleased with it. They are loose with bare feet and shorts, but with jeans tucked in they fit more snug in the calf. They are still looser with thinner socks, and with thick socks they are perfect. My advice for ladies with size 6 feet: If you tend to go down in shoe size (5.5), choose Youth 4. If you tend to go up a size in shoes (7.5) or a TRUE size 6 that cannot fit into 5.5, choose Youth 5. You will want to wear thick socks with these in the winter and Youth 4 would be too snug.

I wear a size 5.5 woman's and Youth size 4 fits great. I also bought the fleece socks youth size 4-6. The boot fits tighter w/ the socks but not uncomfortable. Because they are youth size, they do come 1-2 inches below the knee. The adults ones are taller. Since I am 5 ft tall, they look fine. Love my Hunters!

Finally boots that fit in the calf! I have purchased and returned 3-4 different rainboots (Huntress, Tretorn etc). All have been too tall and too tight in the calf. These Youth Hunters are the best! I am 5'2" and have a 15" calf. I wear a 6.5 shoe and the US 5 Youth size fit great. No bunching. Not a ton of room in the calf, but I can tuck jeans in and no "muffin top". If you buy the youth size in lieu of the adult, note that they come with two reflective markers on the back of the boot (looks fine to me). Give these boots a try if you've had issues with calf fit and boot height. Boot makers need to realize that the boot shaft comes up higher (close to the knee) on shorter women and that area is at a wider part of the calf. Bootmakers - either make a "petite" height boot or allow for a larger calf circumference.

Made in China. Buyer beware. If you think (as I did) that you were buying boots made in Scotland, you had better make sure. Because the box these boots came in clearly states Made in China. Admittedly, I might be over reacting as most everything is made in China. But, the first pair of Hunters I bought for my daughter were made in Scotland. I liked the idea that my money was supporting an independent company steeped in tradition. Now that goes out the window with the Made in China tag. I won't be sending these back as they were a gift for my daughter, but I won't be buying another pair either.

These kids boots were perfect for me; I am 5 feet tall. The size 5 youth were a perfect fit for my size 6 1/2-7 shoe size. I ordered the size 5 and 6 and sent back the 6. Zappos return policy is wonderful.

I'm a size 8, and the Youth size 6 fits perfectly. It's actually a little big, but just the right size to wear it with thick, fleece socks. The calf is a little too tight, but overall these boots are very comfortable. I love them.

It's true! If you wear a size 7 and your short, you may want to buy the kids size! The adult size makes your knees rub and can cause chaffing! Plus you save yourself money! I'm 5 and wear a women's 7, they work perfectly! The kids size do have the reflectors on the back, but I like them!

I bought the Hunter boots to avoid ruining my paddock boots with all the mud we've had this winter (what winter). I wear a 5 or 5.5 normally and the youth size 4 is perfect with one exception. The calf thunks around a bit when I walk. My calf is 30cm circumference, which may or may not be smaller than average I don't know. I am wearing them with breeches not jeans so that may account for the extra room as well. Other than that tiny detail they are wonderful.

I am a big fan of Hunter boots but the women's sizes are so tall. I ordered a children's size 4, and I am a woman's 6. They fit pretty well, but are a bit wide in the foot. With the welly socks and a thick pair of socks they are fine though. Super functional and cute.

These rain boots are great! Very useful for those rainy cold days. You have to be sure what size you are because it can be very difficult to figure out your proper size. Another thing is that they run very narrow which is not a problem to me but was for my sister who order them too. Because its a kid size you have to be careful with the width of the calf because it can be a bit slim.

My kids, 5 and 9 year old boys, go on hikes including tromping through the creek with these! It's fun.

I'm an adult woman who wears kid's sized shoes; it comes with the territory when you are only 4'11". I found the sizing to be a little complicated (I ordered a 3, needed a 2), but when I had to exchange my first pair for a smaller size, the incredibly helpful online staff at Zappos quickly and painlessly arranged for a new pair to be shipped and emailed me a shipping label for my return. The boots are durable, comfortable and will obviously be able to handle all the puddles I plan on jumping in!

I have been waiting to buy a pair of wellies for a long time. Since I have small feet, size 6, I decided to get the kids Size 4 and they fit perfect! I am very pleased with the quality and sizing of the boot. I am looking forward to buying other colors in the future and the welly socks!

Perfect fit and really nice, wore them today as it just so happened to be raining in LA. Size is about true maybe runs a tiny, tiny bit big like 1/2 a size but fit well for me the youth size. Thanks Zappos you have made me happy again!

We love these boots. Z (8 years old) told me he likes those boots and that he looks professional in them. He was so cute saying that. I do not know where that came from. We tried a couple of other rain boots before that.

I am 5' 3" with short legs and size 6 feet. I felt the women's Hunter Originals would be too tall on me so, after reading all the great Zappos reviews, I decided to try Hunters in the youth sizes. I am pretty much right on a perfect size 6. I decided to order a size 4 in the kids. The size 4 in kids just fits and I am happy. I wouldn't want them any smaller though. I can still wear a decently thick pair of socks with them. These are great boots and just the right height on my short legs. There is also just enough space around the calves that I am able to tuck in skinny jeans and leggings. They are a good, solid, well made boot. I find them comfortable to walk in. Be warned, they do have reflective patches on the back of the boot. They don't really bother me at all, and I plan to get some of those cute Hunter welly socks, which will cover the top reflector anyway. Very happy with my purchase of the kids Hunters. It was a substantial savings over the women's. I feel like these boots will keep me happy for a good long time. I bought them in Navy, which I am very happy with. The only question is, which color to buy next!

I bought these boots in a kid's size 5. I have a very narrow foot and normally wear a 7 or 7½ in shoes. Definitely buy the kid's size to save money! I love these boots. I wear them when walking the campus. They are perfect for protection for the rain and mud, but are also light and comfortable.

Perfect boot for cold, rainy days. I bought a size 1, my son has skinny narrow foot, ankle, and calf. Fits perfect, but with the fleece liner in it is a bit tight and I could've gone a size up.

I ordered these boots for my grandchildren, the old fashioned way. I called! The person on the end of the line could not have been nicer and more informative. I am a small young woman (5'1"), so I decided to get these kids boots because they're cheaper. They look just like they do here and are comfortable. Only I thought these didn't have those little reflectors on the back, but they do. So just be aware. Everything else is perfect.
