My favorite hiking sneaker. Lightweight and cool. Wore these up to half dome and many more miles, not one blister. They do wear the toes on steep descents, but I strongly endorse. I'm size 10 1/2 regular and fit true.

Nice shoe, and comfortable. I like the laces, no need to double knot and stay tied. I would recommend this sneaker for all purpose workouts and play.

Excellent shoe, good cushioning, great traction control. Fits good right out of the box. Does well on day hikes with light pack. Toe box not good for high alpine trails, but sufficient for most terrain where hikers\/runners go.

The Asics Gel-Nimbus 11s have been my go to running shoe the past couple years, but this winter I thought I'd do a little more trail running so bought these Asics Gel-Trabuco 12 WRs to save my Nimbus 11s for road work. I've been a little disappointed with the Trabuco's starting out as these shoes have been the first running shoes that I needed to break in before running any distance in them. After running a couple times in them starting out, I noticed the area just under my ankles got very sore and tender. The padding around the ankle collar are more minimal in this shoe compared to what I was used to. As a work around I would not lace them very tight at all and that has helped. I now have 50 miles on the shoe putting in a 12 miler this morning and my ankles seemed to have adapted to them. So other than some extra break in time for me, the shoes now are working well for the fairly smooth type of trails that I have used them on. If I was running on rocky trails though, I would certainly want more padding around the ankle collars and a longer more padded tongue would be nice, too.
