I've been in the market for a light weight backpack to make my 6 mile walking commute a bit easier on my back. I had been previously carrying TNF's Recon backpack, and while it's a great backpack, the bag itself is weighty and really weighed me down. The Flyweight has been a great solution. The pack arrives closed up within it's own inner pocket, about the size of a change purse. I needed to hang the bag up with a blanket stuffed inside for a few days to get rid of the wrinkling that happened in transit from being closed up. It smoothed out just fine, so don't be put off by initial impression upon fully opening the bag. The material is very thin, but not in a cheap way. It's got some stretch to it and it doesn't feel dry and weak like it would tear. The straps are also elastic and can be adjusted easily. The inside of the backpack is spacious enough for my daily needs (including lunch) and includes a smaller zippered pocked which is perfect to separate my phone and iPod. There are 2 water bottle pouches on either side of the bag, which I was concerned wouldn't fully support a heavy bottle, but it does beautifully. Bottles will not fall out. My only complaint is the outer pouch is not zippered. It has some sort of latched clip that does not fully close the outer pouch, so I do not put anything valuable in there. I got the lantern green/gray combo for visibility purposes and love it. Not too bright. Overall, this is WELL worth the price. It's light, comfortable, and easy to wear.

I bought this backpack as a stow away pack for trips. I have a larger pack that I use when travelling, but that one is too big for a quick trip. This pack is perfect. You can put several small, light things in it and not be weighed down by a more cumbersome pack. If you put anything too hard or big in it, it will poke you because it is definitely lightweight.

I used this backpack to pack my clothes for 4-day business trip. I wanted something light, easy to stow on the overhead compartment of planes and not a bulky backpack. I packed two pairs of pants, 4 tops and some toiletries in a ziplock in this. I did not want to put my laptop, did not know if it could handle a bit of weight and stretching. Overall this would be a good backpack for walking around in a city where you have your light essentials with you. It does not have a zipper compartment and would have been nice if the small compartment in front of it was zippered for security. Also it does not keep a preformed shape like normal backpacks or what is pictured here. Depending on what you pack in it, if you pack hard items, it might hurt your back because you will feel all the contours, corners etc. Essentially it feels like a strong nylon bag in a backpack shape.

My husband loves the light weight design and practicality. Holds everything you need for a day hike and for leisure travels to the park or beach. Only real con is it sacrifices storage space for its light weight design.

I just got this pack in the mail today. Fast shipping as always from Zappos. I think it's perfect. I bought it for my upcoming trip to Jamaica to use for the beach and excursions. It's exactly what I thought it would be. Very lightweight but plenty of room inside, although small. I'm a petite person, so it fits me perfect. People who said bad things about it must have been hoping for a more intense hiking pack. That's not what this is. When I bought it only red and yellow were left, and I chose the yellow and I'm glad I did; it's not as intense yellow as the pictures. I can't wait to use it!

Can't say much more than what has already been pointed out, although I expected it to be slightly larger. It's about the same size as the drawstring sack that I am replacing. Very light weight with a bunch of useful pockets. Serves it purpose if you travel light!

The best thing about this bag is that it is packable and is useful on vacation for when you need more storage or are having an active outdoorsy day. However the material is a bit thin and unattractive. I think it won't last too long before it develops holes.

This pack is very lightweight and would be great for travel however it wasn't right for me. The outer mesh lining is a little thin and I feel like the fabric could easily snag or tear if caught on a branch or something. Because they part that rests on your back has no structure to it I feel like certain items might feel uncomfortable to carry.

The material of this bag made it look cheap. I like that it can fold up so small when not in use, but it needs modified somewhat so it has a better look when in use. Material looked too wrinkled and out of shape

This used to have an outer zipped packet - VERY important - they now got rid of it - horribly not useful when it was so easy to keep the zipper - bad design

I bought this product for a gift and when I saw how it came I was too disappointed. The packaging was too small and the backpack is too wrung. I would like to return.

The outer pouch lasted exactly one use. It's made from such a thin mesh material that my dog's small rawhide ripped a hole right through it. The last NF light weight bag I bought had a much sturdier net that lasted for years even though I'd stuff it full of books and things when traveling.

It's literally a cheap, thin nylon that tore the first time i used it hiking. It got caught on a thin branch.
