I bought one for my wife's birthday nearly two years ago, and we've been on no less than 15 flights with it. It's held up admirably, except for one of the plastic zipper tabs that snapped last year. We took it to an authorized Rimowa repair shop in Vancouver, Canada, where they looked up the serial number to see if it was covered under warranty (it was) and had it fixed in literally 5 minutes. The suitcase is super light, and easy to pack since each half has it's own zippered mesh cover ensuring things stay in place. It does feel flimsy and flexes quite a bit, but has not had any issues aside from the broken zipper tab. They probably should have made the zipper tabs out of metal, but in an effort to make the Air as light as possible, I guess every gram counts. The white Salsa Air looks clean and slick, but does get scuffed up with black marks from all the conveyor belts it goes on. After our first few travels, I cleaned it up with some Goo Gone, and it cleaned up quite nicely. But we've kind of "let it go," and it looks just fine with all the black scuff marks, which add character and makes the bag look well-traveled. If you care about keeping the case pristine, you can order aftermarket plastic fitted sleeves off of eBay or Amazon, but we don't bother.

So far I have not traveled with it. Therefore, I cannot yet comment on its durability, etc. It is nice looking and light-weight. I bought it because it was light-weight compared to my fabric bags. I do wish that it came with straps to keep things in place, but maybe I need to check out packing cubes. I am not a seasoned international traveler, so I am still experimenting. The price was too high and the guarantee was only 5 years. I figured it should have a lifetime guarantee for the price.

The manufacturer of this suitcase has not given the airports the correct key to unlock it in the event TSA searches your bag. The first time TSA had to jimmy the lock to open it Zappos (bless them) replaced the suitcase on the assumption that the lock must have been defective. TSA, however, informed me that it was the lack of a proper key that resulted in the damage. Now, TSA has searched the new replacement bag and, once again, had to pry the lock open. My suggestion is buy another brand.

I love how light it is and how much it packs, however, after around 6 trips to Asia and Europe, it has got some pretty bad dents and deep scratches, hence the 1-star. I didn't expect it to be this way. It's an expensive suitcase and was an investment for me. Zappos service is really great in helping me process the return.
