This tote is very large and has several very handy inside and outside pockets. It may be pushing the size limit for take-on luggage. The background color is a dark chocolate brown, not black. I love it, but may not be able to keep it because when full, it may be too heavy for me with my arthritis. It's a fantastic looking bag and has a zipper at the top. Worth every penny!

Love this bag. Apparently I am an overpacker when it comes to a diaper bag, but this fits everything, while maintaining good looks. The bag itself is very lightweight and surprisingly light when filled. I would prefer a regular zipper to the break away zipper, as I find myself not zippering it most of the time because it's a little more difficult than a regular zipper. The interior pockets are nice, but I would like at least one interior zipper pocket. Overall, awesome bag for those of you who like to fit everything.

I love this bag! It is huge and has lots of pockets, both inside and out! I got this bag at my bridal shower. I went to Jamaica and used this bag as my carry on and it was perfect! It has a removable hard bottom so you can wash it if it gets dirty. It is a great bag!

This bag is amazing. As a student who works I carry a lot of stuff. Binder, laptop, change of clothing, change of shoes, kindle, travel cosmetic bag. A lot of stuff. And it all fits, in this one bag. It has tons of pockets and I get tons of compliments on it. The picture really doesn't give the size of this bag, it's very misleading that it's a normal size bag. My 3 year old cousin has been known to sit inside of it. It's huge. I couldn't live without it, it's gorgeous.

When I ordered this bag I thought it was going to be too big. I was wrong it is perfect for traveling. Of course Zappos like always delivered it quick! Love Zappos!

Like other reviews have stated, this bag is huge! It's a great bag for weekend trips or to use as carry-on for plane trips. I've even seen people use this style at the gym. The quality of materials and construction of the bag are excellent. I love that it has a full top zipper to secure the contents. I highly recommend this for someone looking for a large size of tote.

This bag is bigger than I thought, but it worked great as a carry-on on a recent trip. My purse fit inside so it counted as my "personal item" that fit under the seat in front of me. Great colors!

I recently returned from a European vacation. I took this tote as my carry on. It held a ton, fit easily in the overhead, and when zipped closed, held everything securely. It was has all the usual inside pockets, plus two outside pockets for an umbrella, water bottle, or other items. During the day, I could use this as a tote when going to the grocery store, since in many places in Europe charge for bags if you don't bring your own. It became a beach tote one day, and also held purchases on a rainy shopping day. Now that I am home, it will be my weekender when taking quick overnights. I am glad I bought this tote. So many uses!

It was a little bigger than I was expecting, but it's going to be my summer beach bag so a little extra room is okay. I love the color. What sold me on the bag was the fact that it was lined with pockets both inside and outside, plus the top zips closed and the straps are padded. I was told this would come in on Tuesday because I missed the time frame for next day shipping, yet it arrived today! Zappos is awesome and I cannot get over this bag.

This is a great bag for carrying on a plane. 4 external pockets and about 6-8 inside to keep things organized. I used this for a laptop, camera, jacket, kindle and purse to take on plane and it was perfect. It is also a great overnight bag for a short trip. I like that it can be washed as well.

I bought this for my daughter-in-law so that she could carry everything she needed with a full time job in Social Work and full time mom for three teenages and a 2 year old! She said it is perfect and almost as big as she is...LOL Great find!

I received this bag from my children for Christmas. It is my first Vera Bradley! Christmas night I left for 2 days to stay with a friend and could not wait to use it! It has so much room that I was able to stay organized, clothes can be folded and stay nice and it looks beautiful. I was able to fit everything in there that I need. It was the perfect gift and will be used so much!!

This bag is beautiful and well-made! If you're looking for a very, very large/wide travel bag or beach bag for the family, this is a great choice!

This is a wonderful bag...big but so full of pockets to put my cell in, glasses in another, things I need quick at hand but everything else will fit! So comfortable to carry too! I want more of the same!

I ordered the bag in the Suzani pattern. I wasn't sure about it until I received it, but I LOVE the pattern. The colors are brilliant. Also, the bag is nice and big--great for an overnight bag. The zipper takes a little getting used to, since you have to line it up (like a coat zipper). This feature actually allows you to stuff more in. Great bag!!

I absolutely ADORE the Carried Away tote and I have bought it in several different patterns over the years. It's my favorite go-to for traveling - both within the US and internationally - because you can cram so much stuff in it! The different interior and exterior pockets allow for the perfect compartmentalizing you need when you've got a lot of stuff with you. I wish the exterior pockets were lined with impermeable material like the interior ones are because it's the perfect place to stash a bottle of water, except of course that you don't really want to do that with a fabric tote. I ordered this purse in Olivia Pink and English Rose last week. Unfortunately, the English Rose one arrived damaged - the bottom cardboard was broken in half, and since it's sewn in you can't remove it. I honestly think someone must've damaged it and then returned the purse because I've traveled extensively with my favorite Carried Away tote and have never had this problem, it doesn't just "happen". I called Zappos to let them know why I'm returning that purse and, as usual, they were amazing in dealing with the issue. Not only did I receive an apology but the super awesome customer service rep even offered to locate a replacement elsewhere online since Zappos doesn't have another English Rose one!!! How awesome is that?? Bottom line: the purse will not disappoint you, and take it from someone who's been ordering accessories and shoes exclusively from Zappos for the last 7 years: they won't let you down and there's no online retailer I know that provides the same level of customer service.

I have about half a dozen of the GCA totes in various patterns. As a general rule, I absolutely love the design - roomy, tons of pockets, padded shoulder strap etc. However, I am dismayed by the fact that this - like all Vera Bradley items - have suffered from a continuous, steady decline in quality. The last one I purchased had remarkably uneven stitching with several loose threads, and even the batting is not as thick and sturdy as it used to be. I still love the style, which is the only reason I am giving this overall a two star rating instead of one - because, quite frankly, it just is not what it used to be.

So big I feel a soccer mom with babies...or a teen going on a sleepover. However, for all that bigness there aren't many enclosure features. Great pattern though.
