I settled, after reading many, many of the ratings on Zappos for men's walking shoes on 5 pairs. I ordered all of them, and tested them walking in my living room in anticipation of a month long tourist trip, unescorted, to China. I kept the first two pair, and returned the rest. The Skechers Work Shape-Ups XT-SR are a special case: comfortable but they feel strange. Then I read on page 15 of Consumer Reports, August 2011, that these might be causing injuries. The new Consumer Product Safety Commissions product complaint data base lists "36 people reported injuries associated with these shoes. That's more complaints than for any other single type of product in the database. Most of the injuries were minor...but 15 reported broken bones." That's how these feel: unstable, and while they might be better after I wore them a while, I don't see much reason to risk it. 1. Clarks Portland #116247. The best feeling, with a large toe box. 2. Asics Gel-Foundation Walker #7402962 is a close runner-up. 3. Avia A340M #7564348 are comfortable, but don't fit as well as the two above. 4. Saucony ProGrid Echelon LE are significantly more rigid than the others. Not as comfortable. 5. Skechers Shape-ups XT-SR #7682613 see above.

Excellent walking shoe, I am on my feet all day and work on a concrete floor. I have planters fasciitis and with this shoe I no longer need to use orthotics. Great shoe, also bought my mother in law the same shoe - she loves them.

After chatting with the awesome people at Zappos, I decided to purchase these shoes. They are working great, providing the arch support I need for my feet.

I received this shoe as a birthday gift from my daughters. I can only say that it exceeds any expectations of quality, fit, style and comfort that I could ever imagine -- and I am not given to faux compliments. As important, is the customer service at Zappos, which is beyond belief. These shoes, I was told were ordered on a Sunday. I received them within two business days! I would suggest that Zappos should really start a school for other companies to attend regarding customer service. I had heard that Zappos is in a class of one when it comes to customer service, and I heartily agree. I am now a customer for life!

The Saucony ProGrid Echelons I received were too small, and obviously were incorrectly sized.
They are supposedly American size 12, but the corresponding English and European sizes listed on the shoes are much smaller than they would be if the shoes were truly size 12.
My old Saucony Grid Omni Walkers, which fit fine, are also American size 12, but English size 11 and European size 46.5.
The new Saucony ProGrid Echelons are also nominally American size 12, but only English size 10 (compared to 11 for the older shoes) and European size 44.5 (compared to 46.5 for the older shoes).

I am a 6'3 and 240lbs and I work in a hospital. I was looking for shoes that would give me all day comfort standing on concrete and tile. Overall the shoes are very good, they do get a little warm, and the arch support seems to be a little soft(?). I may try some aftermarket insoles to add some stiffness in the arch, or I may try some other shoes/sneakers as well. They are one of the better shoes I have found for me, and the quality of the Saucony brand is very good. As far as shopping at Zappos...we all know why we shop here...just can't go wrong.

This a good quality, comfortable "walking" shoe that is dressy enough to wear out to dinner as well as for walking around anywhere you may find yourself as a tourist. As always, Zappos can't be beat for the quality and selection of products and their great return policy if things are not perfectly to your liking.

Saucony needs to make their shoes with a little lower cut. They rub the bone on the outside toward the ankle. Fred

These are some nice shoes. I was skeptical of online shoe ordering and this is the first pair I have ordered. They are quite comfortable and you just can't beat the price.

Excelent shoe body; I have long used the Grid Walker. this version has extra resilience in the heel. I thought that would be a plus, but found that I needed a firmer heel base on NYC sidewalks. My evaluation is stricktly to do with my needs. It is an excelelnt shoe.

I bought these for my dad--he loves them He has a bad back and he really praises the cushioning in the heel. He usually wears a 13n or med width and ordered the 14 m. It fits fine. I usually go up myself in a sneaker (half size) so I think that is just a given.

I bought the Saucony ProGrid Echelon LE shoes to replace another pair of walking shoes that I had been using for about a year on my walks of 3 miles, 3 times a week. The shoes fit very well and I was able to comfortably walk 3 miles the first time that I wore them. I have now worn them for several weeks and am still very pleased with their fit, comfort and performance.

Got these for my husband -- he usually wears a size 12 but has super wide feet so I got a 14 and he loves them. Has hardly taken them off since we got them the day after I ordered. Zappos is great for hard to fit sizes and my husband is amazed at their service. The reviews are also very helpful.

I purchased these based on other reviews and because I recently started a part-time job that requires my standing on concrete for several hours at a time. I have no back or leg pain, and I feel the shoes are a contributing factor.

These are comfortable, quality, work shoes. I am a delivery driver for 10-12 hours a day on concrete, asphalt, grass, dirt, metal grates. I have been wearing these for approximately seven weeks and they still offer plenty sole/heel support, and feel like sneakers. I wore the Saucony Grid Omni Walker before these for approximately eight months. Those were great shoes as well, but they really lasted six months. I am a heel striker; so I look for shoes with solid sole construction. Any shoes that can last more than four months, with my punishment, are winners.

Other than the silver trim these are awesome shoes. They are very comfortable for my wide high arched feet and have good cushioning. They seem well made and are replacements for my old stand by New Balance walkers. You need sunglasses to look at them but I would buy them again.

I bought these for my husband. We are on our feet between 10 and 16 hrs a day. We do a lot of walking and hike with our dogs. My husband was complaining that his feet are tired after a 6 hrs and this is not going to fly with me :) rest and you rust. So I have heard through others that Saucony is a great shoe, true fit and well worth the price. He is hard to fit as he is a wide. He complains no more and loves his shoes so we remain happy. Thank you Zappos.

Excellent shoe, comfortable, sturdy, built to last. I've been walking in this shoe 30 miles a week for 3 months... I would highly recommend this shoe for walking and everyday wear. Sorry Zappos I did a review on the grid Saucony shoe earlier, but this is the shoe I actually got.

I tried these because I could no longer get the Spira model in white I liked. Even in the wide width, these shoes were uncomfortable in the toe box. I have really liked Saucony running shoes in the past so I thought that I would like the Walker but they proved too uncomfortable to wear. I went back to a different model of the Spira.
