Oooh, I love these boots! I bought them in brown and then in black. Very comfortable. Extremely versatile cute with shorts, dresses, skinny jeans. I have skinny legs and they make me feel really cute. I own my own salon and stand on my feet 8 hours. I can not recommend these boots highly enough. Order a 1/2 size bigger. Very soft leather, especially the brown nubuck. You will love all the ways you can wear these boots. Zappos is the best if you have any problems but I know you will love these boots. I am surprised that someone said these boots run large. I went to try them on at a Steve Madden store. I have always been a 5 in women's shoes - a 3 in Mens. My feet are tiny and rather narrow. When I tried on a 5.5 they were extremely tight and I had to buy a 6 if I wanted to wear any socks with them. I've never bought a 6 in anything! I also tried on a 5 in the Harllem style (which looks exactly the same) and they were much softer and fit well, but cost more. So far I love them, but I am definitely hoping I made the right choice as it seems the Harllem style (in a true-to-size 5) was much comfier!

The shoe is absolutely beautiful! And so far, it's comfortable. The only downside is that the tongue is a little weird. You have to kind of play with it until it sits right on your shin. Other than that, the boot is so beautiful!

Had to initially send back the first pair - uneven color. But the second pair were fine. Love them, comfortable but not for long walks. Trendy, fun, great with skinny jeans tucked in. Such a good price, I also bought them in black.

Loved the boots! I was so excited to get them that I didn't notice that one of the zippers had come unstitched at the bottom until I wore them.

Had to send these back because they were too long and narrow. The color was also lighter than in the picture and the toe and heel pieces were of a darker leather making the shoe look two tone instead having a consistent aged look. Not the end of the world but since the fit was also weird.

I purchased these boots in a 5.5 because I have the other Steve Madden "Harllem boot" in that size; however, the size 5.5 in this model felt more like a 6.5. They were huge. I have narrow feet and wear between a 3 and a 3.5 in kids so a 5 or 5.5 always fits me perfect. In this boot it is not the case. If you have a wide foot, you may be fine in ordering your normal size as they do not run small and in my opinion run really big. I would need a size 5 and unfortunately the sizing stops at 5.5 so I had to return them. Also the material is another thing I want to address, all of the other Troopa boots which include the cognac and the black are a shiny leather, these are not shiny hard leather. They are more like a Timberland leather and are soft. If you are unfamiliar with nubuck material, I suggest looking at a pair of Timberlands to get an idea. Overall, the shiny leather is more appealing and if these were designed in that way, they would be much better design wise, and fit wise. Hope this helps!

These boots are awesome. The leather is luxurious, they are not bulky as some combat boots are, the zipper runs smoothly, and the leather smell is amazing. I purchased two pairs of these boots in the past month for my daughter and granddaughter and they both feel they run a half size larger than their other boots, although they both have very narrow feet. I purchased these boots for myself a year ago in my normal size and I can fit a heavy sock in the boot with no problem. Love these boots! You will not regret the purchase!

My daughter loves these shoes as a 13 year old girl. I have bought them 3 times as she outgrows them.

Great deal for these boots. Leather is thin and a bit stiff - but leather at this price is usually like that (if you can find leather at ALL). SUPER comfortable!!!! Felt like I’d always had them when i put them on!

Every season except summer, my 16-year-old daughter lives in these boots! This purchase was replacing a previous pair of the same style, which lasted after 2 years or so of lots of wear (we live in NYC, and she walks a lot). They're stylish, comfortable, and durable. Thumbs up!

I am usually a 9 and did a 91/2 and they are perfect. I have tons of Steve Madden shoes and would say to go up a 1/2 size on the Troopa. After the 3rd or 4th time of wearing they are much more comfortable. Super cute on.

The fit is excellent.

These are my favorite boots. I bought some a few years back and wore them until they fell apart. When it was time to replace them, I thought I could possibly find a cheaper replacement (when I had purchased them years ago they were more expensive)... why even bother? I can’t find any other boots that fit me as well as Steve Madden. These boots require no breaking in. They are stylish and comfortable. I often wear them to work (I’m a bartender, on my feet all night) they are great quality and last me a few years. Very happy with Steve Madden boots.

I love, love, love these boots. I initially bought these for a trip to the southwest and they've held up great through a variety of terrainsâ??dusty desert, muddy fields, city streets. They're fashionable, sturdy, versatile, and super comfortable. I found the Cognac color to be darker than pictured, but I like it all the same.

The quality is excellent. The color in Cognac is beautiful and goes with a lot of things that I have. It seems really versatile. I returned the Black color because for some reason I just didn't like it nearly as much in that color. The Cognac, though, is beautiful. It's super comfortable. Perfectly true to size. I'm a 10, I got a 10, and it's perfect. I have narrower lower calves, so I was worried it would be too wide up top, but it was fine because you can lace it tighter as well as use the zipper on the side. I have narrower feet, and the lacing also helped with that. A great shoe all around. Worth every penny.

I love these boots! They go with everything! They are extremely comfortable and felt like they were broken in from the moment that I started wearing them. I love Steve Madden and these boots outdid my previous experiences with his shoes. Obviously I own a few pairs of his already. You cannot go wrong with these boots. On top of it all, they make my feet look tiny! I could not be happier with them.

Hands down my favorite pair of boots, I worship Steve Madden because of them. You may want to order half a size up, but other than that they are perfect as is. The quality is great, too. Before I bought them I read a bunch of reviews and many people seemed to agree that the bottom of the shoe would fall apart within a few weeks of wear. I have had mine for 2 years and wear them often (even in the Florida heat), and I have not had any experience with a loose sole or otherwise. I'm planning on buying them in green leather and light brown as well! They actually feel much more durable than any other pair of boots I own - trust Madden, he knows what he's doing! I strongly recommend these, not only are they a must-have for concerts and festivals, but they are a great year-round shoe and belong in every woman's closet.

I bought these to replace some boots I got at Payless last year (which I think were actually an imitation of these!). When I first got them, I tried them on with some medium socks and couldn't even get them on my feet - I ordered an 8 and I am a narrow size 8. Remembering that leather stretches, I tried again.. this time armed with thinner socks and my roommate's shoe horn. Tight squeeze going over the heel, but that did the trick. They were extremely uncomfortable for the first hour or so, but I toughed through the day and took it easy on my feet. The next day I was able to pry them on without the shoe horn, and they got gradually more comfortable each day after that. Yesterday, I wore them for too long, thinking that they were close enough to broken in. Bad idea. I walked all around downtown, and by the time I was walking back to campus my toes and heels started aching. As soon as I got inside, I ripped the boots off to discover large blisters on my right heel and covering both of my pinky toes :( I'll have to take a few days off from the boots. In that time I plan to take some leather conditioner and elbow grease to them. I ordered the Cognac color - it looks more similar to the Brown Leather color in the pictures (and the laces are more like those on the Brown) but it's exactly what I wanted. They are great boots, just be sure you remember that leather boots take finessing!!

I love these boots! Had them for about three months in The Cognac Color! They look and feel great. Gotten so many compliments. And not one defect so far! Keeps me warm and comfortable all day!

I FEEL SORRY FOR ANYONE WHO DOES NOT OWN THESE BOOTS. They are fabulous. I just bought them online at Zappos and could not be happier with my purchase! (FAST DELIVERY TOO) I got them in the cognac color which is a great fall hue. I knew I wanted short brown boots and these are absolutely perfect. Good height, soft leather and comfortable. I'd go up half size from your normal size just to be on the safe side and since you'll most likely be wearing heavier socks with them. THESE BOOTS ARE A MUST GET!
