The fit is excellent.

These are my favorite boots. I bought some a few years back and wore them until they fell apart. When it was time to replace them, I thought I could possibly find a cheaper replacement (when I had purchased them years ago they were more expensive)... why even bother? I can’t find any other boots that fit me as well as Steve Madden. These boots require no breaking in. They are stylish and comfortable. I often wear them to work (I’m a bartender, on my feet all night) they are great quality and last me a few years. Very happy with Steve Madden boots.

I love, love, love these boots. I initially bought these for a trip to the southwest and they've held up great through a variety of terrainsâ??dusty desert, muddy fields, city streets. They're fashionable, sturdy, versatile, and super comfortable. I found the Cognac color to be darker than pictured, but I like it all the same.

The quality is excellent. The color in Cognac is beautiful and goes with a lot of things that I have. It seems really versatile. I returned the Black color because for some reason I just didn't like it nearly as much in that color. The Cognac, though, is beautiful. It's super comfortable. Perfectly true to size. I'm a 10, I got a 10, and it's perfect. I have narrower lower calves, so I was worried it would be too wide up top, but it was fine because you can lace it tighter as well as use the zipper on the side. I have narrower feet, and the lacing also helped with that. A great shoe all around. Worth every penny.

I love these boots! They go with everything! They are extremely comfortable and felt like they were broken in from the moment that I started wearing them. I love Steve Madden and these boots outdid my previous experiences with his shoes. Obviously I own a few pairs of his already. You cannot go wrong with these boots. On top of it all, they make my feet look tiny! I could not be happier with them.

Hands down my favorite pair of boots, I worship Steve Madden because of them. You may want to order half a size up, but other than that they are perfect as is. The quality is great, too. Before I bought them I read a bunch of reviews and many people seemed to agree that the bottom of the shoe would fall apart within a few weeks of wear. I have had mine for 2 years and wear them often (even in the Florida heat), and I have not had any experience with a loose sole or otherwise. I'm planning on buying them in green leather and light brown as well! They actually feel much more durable than any other pair of boots I own - trust Madden, he knows what he's doing! I strongly recommend these, not only are they a must-have for concerts and festivals, but they are a great year-round shoe and belong in every woman's closet.

I bought these to replace some boots I got at Payless last year (which I think were actually an imitation of these!). When I first got them, I tried them on with some medium socks and couldn't even get them on my feet - I ordered an 8 and I am a narrow size 8. Remembering that leather stretches, I tried again.. this time armed with thinner socks and my roommate's shoe horn. Tight squeeze going over the heel, but that did the trick. They were extremely uncomfortable for the first hour or so, but I toughed through the day and took it easy on my feet. The next day I was able to pry them on without the shoe horn, and they got gradually more comfortable each day after that. Yesterday, I wore them for too long, thinking that they were close enough to broken in. Bad idea. I walked all around downtown, and by the time I was walking back to campus my toes and heels started aching. As soon as I got inside, I ripped the boots off to discover large blisters on my right heel and covering both of my pinky toes :( I'll have to take a few days off from the boots. In that time I plan to take some leather conditioner and elbow grease to them. I ordered the Cognac color - it looks more similar to the Brown Leather color in the pictures (and the laces are more like those on the Brown) but it's exactly what I wanted. They are great boots, just be sure you remember that leather boots take finessing!!

I love these boots! Had them for about three months in The Cognac Color! They look and feel great. Gotten so many compliments. And not one defect so far! Keeps me warm and comfortable all day!

I FEEL SORRY FOR ANYONE WHO DOES NOT OWN THESE BOOTS. They are fabulous. I just bought them online at Zappos and could not be happier with my purchase! (FAST DELIVERY TOO) I got them in the cognac color which is a great fall hue. I knew I wanted short brown boots and these are absolutely perfect. Good height, soft leather and comfortable. I'd go up half size from your normal size just to be on the safe side and since you'll most likely be wearing heavier socks with them. THESE BOOTS ARE A MUST GET!

This is my second pair of these shoes. I bought the first pair 3 years ago and still wear them. I just needed a dressier, less worn pair for "stepping out." Love these stylin', slightly tough boots! Comfy from day one!

I got these boots for christmas in '10 when they first came out. THEY ARE AMAZING! When I wear them, its with my skinny jeans then on top a cute jacket with a scarf. I have even dressed them up for family pictures. They have done wonders for my wardrobe! Definitely worth the money! I never tie the shoes all the way up. I wear the strings four holes down and make a cute bow. When you do get them do try to break them in slowly, they will last longer. Something like once every two weeks. But when you receive them, DO ENJOY!

Definitely very cute and stylish. It is a little tight across the top of my foot, but I do have a very high instep. I'm sure this will get better as I break them in!

These are great boots. They are super comfortable nd the side zipper is super convenient! I am definitely getting my money's worth. I also wanted to say that Zappos' customer support is absolutely amazing! They are so nice and helpful!

I absolutely love these! I just got them & they look so good with skinny jeans or shorts. Gives such an edgy feel with the combat boot look but keeps it girlish enough to look stylish. You can lace it up so they're tight to your leg which looks great, or you can loosen it up so the tongue hangs a little and it looks great too. They're very comfortable as well. I'm obsessed. Fits true to size. People that say they're tight need to loosen up all the laces before slipping your foot in.

These are now my favorite boots. They are styling and fit very well. Great boots for kicking around and very comfortable.

Cutest boots ever! My sister and I call this pair of the boots the HUNGER GAMES boots! Goes with everything.

I love these boots! After the reading previous reviews when originally considering these boots, I was honestly discouraged because of some of the complaints others had. I've ordered plenty of other Steve Madden shoes so I decided to just buy them. I was surprised at how soft they were in comparison to another pair of Maddens that I have purchased! Quality is amazing and they are so comfortable. The first time I wore them for about 8 hours and my feet felt fine. I definitely recommend these boots! I am considering purchasing a second pair in the cognac color.

I just got these a month ago and I love them. They are super versatile and look great with dresses and skirts or pants. Other reviewers have mentioned these shoes wear out quickly but since I only just got them I can't speak to that yet.

I absolutely love these boots! I bought my first pair at Lenox Mall from the Madden Store. I initially bought them because I wanted a fashoinable alternative to heels,platforms and wedges. But since having them Ive worn them every single day! They are extremely comfortable and exceptionally trendy! I don't have to compromise my fashionista wardrobe!

These boots remind me of baby shoes that have been preserved. The fit is true to size and they look good with skinny jeans. I love them; I am just not a big fan of the color.

I love these boots! I got them for Christmas and have worn them almost every day since then. They are so trendy and can be worn with just about anything. They look adorable with tall socks tucked into skinny jeans or corduroys. They felt a little tight at first, but once I wore them a few times they loosened up. Overall, they were totally worth it and I can't wait to wear them even more!

These boots are great! I got them as a Christmas gift, and the giver ordered a size large; however, they fit fine! I have plantar fascitis and my orthotics fit in these fine, and they're perfectly comfortable without them as well. Now I just need a pair in black!
