I love these boots! I bought them specifically for a trip to Europe where I planned on doing a lot of walking, but wanted to look cute as well. I wore the boots a few times before the trip to break them in and found them to be quite comfortable over all. The toe area is a little narrow so I would definitely recommend wearing them around a bit before going long distances.

I bought these boots three or so years ago and today. I've decided to hang them up for good, I've walked them to death! They were my every day shoes, they go with every outfit and are ridiculously comfortable. My issues with them are that the sole does wear out pretty easily and they scuff a lot and the color turns green. I'm not sure if every pair is like this and mine smelled funny when I got them (not like leather) and it lingered (I bought them from a Madden store though)! For the price, they last as long as you would expect. They are better quality than cheap boots, but they're made for fashion, not necessarily true butt kicking combat. Today is a sad day but they are completely trashed. Will repurchase!

I had these boots three years ago and wore them all the time, but needed a new pair (because a dog peed on mine, not because of craftsmanship). The only downside was the cognac color shown is no longer available. The color is brown with a distressed look which pulls a little bit of lighter color but not like the old cognac color. Very disappointed but I'm getting used to this color and I still love the boots overall.

These look great in the photos. The front of the shoe looks (and is) really flat in person. That means it was uncomfortable to walk. I got my normal size, which is 7. Maybe you would want to get a size up.

It took me a long time of looking at these to finally make the plunge and buy them because I wasn't sure I could pull off a combat boot. When I finally got them I fell in love. Great soft leather as super comfortable. I'm a size 7.5 and they fit perfect. Very happy with this purchase worth the money!

I purchased this boot about three years ago. I read reviews prior to my purchase and worried about the soles and leather quality. I really liked the look so I went ahead with the purchase. Prior to me wearing them, I got the soles replaced at a local cobbler ($20). After three years of wearing them at least once weekly (and almost daily in the fall and winter), I noticed no cracks or holes but I have had to replace the soles twice now. The only downside to re-soleing is that to match the new sole, they had to dye the heel. After years of owning them and only now revisiting the site, I must say I even forgot what the original heel design was. The leather does scuff easily. Prior to wet and salt season though, I take them to the cobbler for winterizing and after the season, they get buffed again. I have just picked them up from the cobbler today and they look brand new. Size wise, they do run very narrow. I normally wear a 6.5 but these are very narrow so I had to exchange them for a 7 (Thanks, Zappos). I usually wear thick socks anyway so it wasn't a problem. I haven't had any issues with the laces and zipper though so that's good. Now you may be thinking that there's too much maintenance involved but I do love these boots and want them to last so I think it's worth it. Overall, I would purchase these shoes again 10/10. They are extremely comfortable and very stylish. The only reason I didn't give it a 5 star across is the necessity for changing the sole even before I got to wear them.

Ordered these in the stone leather in my regular size. They are slightly narrow, but not uncomfortable - no blisters on the first day of wear and TONS of compliments.

I haven't worn them yet, still too hot in Florida. They look great, seem to be good quality, and did I say they look great? Will be breaking them out next month in New Hampshire and plan to enjoy them a lot!!!

I waited 4 days for my boots and was beyond excited! But as soon as they came in, I realized Zappos messed up the order and i ended up with the wrong color. I had to send them back and wait again. Recommend ordering from the Steve Madden store itself!

Great boots! My daughters second pair! I had to get a half size up from her normal size.

I've had these boots for three years now, if they've been making them that long, and they have not fallen apart or been defective in any way. I'm a rather clumsy person, so I tend to run into things a lot and walk with a heavy step, so the boots are scuffed beyond any repair, but I personally think it gives them more character. A lot of the reviews say that the soles fall off after a few months, but after years of wear, my soles are as intact as the day I bought them, just more run down. I would definitely recommend these boots to anyone and everyone because they go with everything and they are extremely comfortable. I've worn them on all sorts of activities from hiking to nice dinners out. These seriously are the best boots.I would definitely say that they are worth your money. If you take care of them after you beat them up or get them dirty, they will definitely last you a long time no matter what you do in them.

I tried these on in a store and really liked the fit and style. They are soft with a large folded tongue which might seem odd but somehow it works. Very comfortable for all day walking. I gave the style a 3 star because I am not a fan of the color which is a kind of fake looking distressed saddle color that has too much orange in it. But I did not want another pair of black boots and I am hoping they will wear a bit over time and the color will get better. I would have preferred just a rich brown that would distress naturally but they did not make one.

These look great, I've worn them almost nonstop since I got them. The ONLY thing is they felt really narrow on my already-narrow feet. But after breaking them in, they are perfectly comfortable. I wouldn't recommend them for anyone with super wide feet, however.

I love the look of these shoes, and have received many compliments. They do tend to chafe and blister the skin right under the ankles, and I managed to scratch the suede in the first week. If you're gentle to your shoes these are fantastic.

The Troopa is so comfortable! I have bad feet and I can wear them all day long. I don't like the laces on the Camel Leather as much as the other colors but I just switched them out.

Gorgeous, rich and versatile color. Vintage but not distressed. These boots look classic and I got tons of compliments but...they are not the most comfortable boot. They are a tad stiff and not super cozy for all day wear if a lot of walking is involved. Having said that, I would recommend them.

Adorable, great lester, A+ for style, fairly comfortable I think its going to take awhile to break in, I felt a little rubbing after wearing an entire day with lots of walking, might start out with a thick sock if they are new.

I recently recovered from a broken ankle, and wanted a stylish boot with ankle support. These boots are not are comfortable, stylish and supportive - at a great price!

Love these! Exactly what I was looking for! Feminine combat boot...not too "manly", nice worn look and the color (Olive) is a perfect Khaki that will match anything! I usually wear an 8 but the 7.5's fit perfect. Only problem is the zipper was broken when I tried them on. Need to exchange, but I know that Zappos will make it easy!

I don't get the negative reviews for these boots...great product. Tough and versatile, but still feminine. Have owned these for over a year and they are well worn, but still look great. I am extremely tough on shoes, and the soles of these still almost look like new. The only thing is I should have weatherproofed these...the leather has started to take on a nasty green tinge - hoping polishing will fix the problem.

LOVE these boots. So comfy and go with everything. I wear them almost every day. The one complaint i would have is that the front part of both shoes scuffed super easily right away.

I've been pretty happy with these boots. They're fairly versatile-- they're cute and stylely with leggings or skinny jeans, and they look professional under wider cut pants. After a little breaking in, they are decently comfortable. I have somewhat high arches, so if I walk too much in a day wearing them my feet start to hurt, but on a normal day they do fine. My only concern is about them holding up (for the price I'm hoping they'll look nice enough to wear to work for at least a few years). I've had them for about a month and so far they have held up pretty well (scuffs seem to rub off easily), though I got a little nick in the leather from the toe clip on my bike and the leather is lot lighter color underneath the top thin layer.

I bought these boots over a year ago and I am still in love with them as much as I am now! They scuff pretty easily but for me it adds to the look. The shoes are really comfortable and easy to put on. A minor setback about these boots is that my laces got worn very easily. The bottom of my shoe is starting to loosen from the leather but that is due to them being older. It is definitely a must buy!

The shoe runs a little big (go half a size smaller). Overall i like the look/design of the shoe, although the leather does look a little fake. They are pretty comfortable and decent value for the price.
