I really wanted to like these. They are comfortable, but the previously mentioned problem with the slippy heels is a non-starter. I slipped several times just walking around my living room. It isn't worth it to look good on my way to twisting an ankle.

These are beautifully made and colored boots - I wish they worked for me! It is so hard to find waterproof women's boots that are also cute and comfortable while not being overly sporty. Unfortunately, the size 40 was way too big and the size 39 was too tight. Also the heel was a lot looser than the toes, so it did not feel like it would be comfortable for walking. Sadly, I returned these boots (twice).

These are very cute, stylish boots, but they just did not fit. They were wide in the heel, and not cut to the contour of my feet. The soles were fine; there was just too much room over the top of my feet, making them feel sloppy when I walked in them. Also, the plastic heel tap was annoying. So back they go...

I got these in grey, because I loved the variations in tone that gave it the look of distressed leather. Unfortunately, I had to return them. PROS: Gorgeous style, and comfortable. Waterproof treatment plus a low heel make these a very wearable style as we head into winter. CONS: This boot has a weird cut. I could not get them to fit. I normally wear an 8 US, so I tried both the 38 and the 39. The 39 was way too big. The 38 had the correct length for my feet, but the heel box was strangely large. This meant that with every step I took, my heel lifted up a couple of inches within the boot, chafing my ankles against the sides. It just was not fitted correctly around the heel. If I had kept them, I would have worn holes through my socks at the ankle in no time. The second strike against them is that in grey, the leather just looks really fake. It really did look and feel like pleather. I wondered if maybe it was the waterproof treatment that caused this, or if the other colors also end up looking like this, but I was not sure. It is just not a good look. Very disappointing, because I loved the way the picture looked in this Zappos listing. The third strike against these boots is that it is not a true stacked heel. It is some kind of hollow-sounding material that is covered in a smooth laminate veneer that is printed to look like a stacked heel. Fake. Convincing enough that from a distance, most cannot tell. But up close, it is obvious. Those three strikes were too much for me, so I returned them.

These boots are awesome! As some other people have commented, the heel is awful. I bought these boots for a trip to London and Ireland and wore them a couple times to break them in. They really don't need to be broken in but I did realize that the heel is cheap plastic (I realized this when I slipped and fell on the floor of a restaurant). I took them to my shoe guy and for $10 he put a good quality heel on that had better traction. From then on they were perfect. I did an insane amount of walking on all types of terrain, including walking through rain and mud and hiking up rocky hills. These boots kept my feet dry, were extremely comfortable from day one, and had great traction (after I replaced the heel). You would think at this price they could go ahead and include a decent heel, but they are still worth buying. Just take them in right away and have the heel replaced and you will be set.

Loved the style, but the ankles were too wide for me and made it uncomfortable to walk around. I have other Pikolinos in the same size, so think this is unique to the Bruja. Alas, back to Zappos it goes.

I looked at all the reviews, when I ordered these boots...I have several pairs of Pikolinos sandals I will wear to the end of time...was looking for comfortable boots, with some buckle/swash. They just didn't look that good, for the price, in my humble opinion. I would probably pay whatever for the ideal boot, so that is relative. Maybe I'll end up buying a pair of Fryes or? and spend more. I just didn't get the raves..of course, think I spent full price, not current sale price. And they didn't have any in black...so, they went back, and I wore my Rockport lug soled rainboots, raining or not.

I have these and loved them initially, but after worn approximately. 10 times noted intense heel pain. The heel is very loud when walking which annoys me. I purchased gel heel inserts-that does not help with the pain. I am going to take this pair to my shoe repair person to see if the loud heels can be remedied. Also the wooden/stacked heel is not real wood -rubbed off to a light yellow plastic after driving my car.I have never spent this much on a pair of boots- which I thought would last several years (since I have 3 other pairs of leather boots that I rotate with). Except for the uncushioned heel and loud clicking sound with every step (and bottom of shoe looks practically brand new). This is a nice boot. Pikolinos needs to redesign the support on this model. LOVED the shoe cleaning kit that is included. Am off to pikolinos.com to purchase additional silicone-based cleaner!

Loved the style of this boot, and it was very comfortable. The leather was slightly grayed, a more rugged look than I wanted, so I picked a different black boot to keep. The stitching was coming out in one place, so I was concerned about the quality. It was so comfortable, though, that if I had decided on this leather, I would have returned and tried a different pair for better quality.

I just received and tried on one boot.First it runs narrow and second it felt like my toe was jammed right up to the toe. European sizing does not work for me.When I saw the size 38 was 7 1/2-8 I thought I was in luck. Also whatever the heel was made of, it made a clicking sound when walking. The style was so classic and cute but the fit did not work for me. I guess I'll just keep looking. Thank goodness Zappos has such any easy return!

Well, this just didn't rate. I was disappointed with the quality and overall look of this boot. Also, I should have opted for a higher heel. My feet are narrow and this was just swimming on me. Also, the person who noted the clicky heel was correct. They are going back--don't know what I'll do next. I really like Born shoes and boots, so perhaps I'll find a nice one in brown!

I love the look of these shoes and they would be very comfortable and a keeper except for the narrow toe box. I have narrow to medium feet, size 8.5, ordered the 39, and the shoes are uncomfortably narrow and a bit short.

These boots fit what I was looking for, comfortable enough to walk 1+ miles to campus, chic, good heel height, fit me perfectly (size 10 medium). But the first time I wore them I kept slipping on the heel. I thought something had spilled on my floor. Then I slipped and fell getting out of the car. The heels and soles are plastic! C'mon Pikolinos, this price for a pair of boots with cheap, chintzy heels?! I am very disappointed. Looking for another pair of boots so I can return these surprisingly cheaply made, expensive boots.

This boot had so much promise and just failed in every way. The leather feels cheap and the heel is plastic so I sound like a horse when I'm walking. Limited arch support and my foot feels super stiff inside the boot. It also has a slippery sole which isn't helpful. Returned these boots as they were not made for walking or wearing.

Comfortable and stylish, but dangerous. I agree with other reviewers who talked about how slippery the bottoms are. I hated to send them back, but it seemed silly to pay this much for boots and then have to put new heels on the bottom. The plastic heel is just too slick.

Why did I think it would be different for me? I must agree sadly with the many, many reviewers who commented that the plastic heel cap is loud, slippery, and cheap-looking. I might have been tempted to have the heel cap replaced with a rubber one, but the *entire* heel just looks like plastic. The heel is quite out of keeping with the rest of the bootie, which uses soft leather and is otherwise nicely designed.

These run small. I'm an 8 1/2, and bought my usual size 39. But they are too small and cramped in the toe box where I really need roominess. I also noticed that the heel feels hard and unpadded. Going up a size might work, but given the uncomfortable heel, and other reviews mentioning pain in the heel, I'm just going to return them and keep looking. It's a shame because they're really cute.

These did not look at all like I expected them to. The toe box is much more square than it appears in the pictures, and the stitching on the shaft makes it look like cheap, fake leather. Not enough room to tuck in anything but my skinniest jeans, and I've got pretty slim ankles.

What came n the box box did not match the picture --we're talking wrong boots. I'm extremely disappointed as I was counting on them for Super Bowl Sunday. I paid extra for the privilege too as I had them expedited. I will never order from Zappos again.

The shoes are such poor quality. The heel is plastic and I sound so very loud when I walk. The sole is slippery and I almost fell twice wearing these. The leather isn't good quality at all and feels stiff and like plastic. Not a shoe I would recommend. I have sent them back and will be continuing my search for a great boot because this is not it.

These were my favorite boots until March 27, 2015. Sadly, everything people have said about the heel is true. I was walking on a paved driveway when the right heel hit just so and skidded like an ice skate. I flew, heard a snap and felt a sensation in my left ankle. My ankle was broken. Surgery on April 1 requiring one plate and six screws. It is June and I have finally started physical therapy. Needless to say, my husband put these boots into the trash can. I am sad as they were super cute.

These boots are really cute and fairly comfortable, BUT...they are not well-made. After 5 months of wear, the very thin piece of leather that covers the foot bed has come unglued and slipped to the side, creating a giant wrinkle. I have tried unsuccessfully to re-glue it, but it continues to slip. And there is already a hole in the same thin piece of leather, right under my big toe. The very hard plastic on the heel is ridiculously slippery and causes your heel to unexpectedly go sliding out from under you. I've almost wiped out countless times. Really? What WERE they thinking putting this material on the heel? And in spite of how hard the plastic is, it's already wearing down at an angle...pathetic really when compared to my Clarks which have a nice hard rubber heel pad and after 3 years of constant wear (including lots of dancing) are still in perfect shape! One reviewer mentioned she was glad the boots were not made in China BUT...I have two pairs of these boots, one was made in Spain, the other in China. The 2nd pair I bought were made in China and are supposedly the same style and size but strangely have a much more pointed toe. I assumed they just needed breaking in. No...even after painfully wearing them AND getting them professionally stretched, they are still uncomfortable and I'm stuck with them. Pikolinos are expensive and have a good reputation...now I wonder why. Poor design, no quality control. Overall...very, very disappointed! Don't fall for these! Just another pretty face.

These boots were so comfortable out of the box and I thought they would be a winner. Great quality, great Zappos service. But I rolled my ankle three times in the first day that I wore them. The heel angle is tapered way too narrow for the boots, they topple over and roll to the side. I am sitting here tonight returning with a black and blue ankle. If the heel were wider and more in proportion to the boot these would be an amazing pair of boots.

Love this brand. However, recently many of their shoes/boots are made in somewhere else. The quality is inferior to those made in Spain. Boo! I am returning these.

Those boots are made in China, very bad leather, dull and stiff. Not like my 2 other pairs from Pikolinos. No comfort at all. Very disappointed, will send it back.
