I was skeptical about these shoes especially now they offer the toe guard. I had a previous pair of Ecco and they were just not very comfortable. I have always worn Keen for comfort and a good fit. My Keens have been very durable. Well after looking at the Ecco's I decided to give them a try. Good bye Keen! These shoes have the adjustable back strap, I have had both knees replaced bending my leg back to slip the shoe on was difficult. These Ecco's fit like no other shoe. First is the style, then comes build quality. They were comfortable from the moment my foot slipped inside. The adjustable strap means no more bending my legs back. These were a high price for comfort. But so far worth every dollar. I hope Ecco will expand there sandal line with the toe guard. Last but not least Zappos Customer Service is second to none. When I was in the military every day as I approached the Base there was a sign that said Pride. Professional Results In Daily Efforts - that's Zappos!

These are one of the best quality and most comfortable river shoes you can possibly find. I see a negative review with velcro issues...I had mine for 1.5 years and never once had a velcro issue around the back heel strap. They fit perfect and my feet became very accustomed to them. The only issue I had with them which ultimately made me pitch them is the "antimicrobial footbed" and leather which if you actually wear these in the river like I did repeatedly all summer long, they will stink like high heaven. Don't care if you wash your feet regularly, Lysol them, use detergent and fancy deodorizers, these pups will reek to the point where you will just want to burn them. For the price, you will wish you didn't have to but on a hot day in the car, there's not enough windflow in the world that will stop them from terrorizing your nostrils. Time to buy a new pair.

These are great shoes. I've had them for about a month and have taken them hiking several times. They fit and feel great and seem very durable. In my humble opinion, they are definitely worth the money. After purchasing these sandals I also purchased a pair of Ecco's dress shoes which are also great.

Great looking and well built sandal. The Keen's just didn't fit my foot as well. A great everyday sandal.

I recently got these sandals after returning another pair of similarly styled sandals. The main difference was the adjustable back strap and much more flexible tongue adjustment. I never thought my foot was that big, but the previous model sure made me think so. The adjustability made all the difference and I am very pleased with my new Ecco sandals.

Have had Tevas in many shapes and forms, tried Sperry Fisherman Golds, Keens didn't work for my flat feet (although the other brands fit fine) but these are superior in every way. They should be, given the price, but worth it. Other Ecco sport sandals Yucatan and Mohave are good too, if you don't need toe protection. I also have those but prefer the new Terras.

These are great shoes! I own a pair of Keen Newport sandals ( for 5 years), so I can make a decent comparison. Both are great shoes. These Ecco's have GREAT arch support, very solid (but not like the hard Birkenstock shoes). You don't get as many small rocks in the shoes as you do the Keen Newport's. Even though these are at a premium price, I recommend these 'shandals'. After all, you will wear these for years. I use these for walking distances, and cycling. You can even wear black socks with these (with long blue jeans) and you can hardly tell that you are wearing 'shandals' with socks.

I wear sandals most of the year and use them for general purposes as well as hiking. These are by far the most comfortable sandals I own and now have two pair. Most sandals are fine for walking around but fall short when they go "off road". They're worth the extra money.

Excellent fit and support. A tad heavy but I can live with it. One of my favorite sandals ever.

I love Ecco Shoes and Boots and look to them first when buying something new but these sandals are driving me crazy with the velco strap always popping loose and then the sandals want to come off of your foot. I have tried everything to fix this problem but nothing has worked; it feels like it needs a button to lock it in place as these sandals just won't stay in place. They look great but do to the strap I would recommend looking elsewhere. I expected better from Ecco and for the price I expected the quality I usually get from Ecco. Comfort level would be a 5 but they don't stay on long enough to get a total feel for them.

Versatile crossover between a sandal and a shoe. You get the ventilation of a sandal and protection of your toes. Can get wet with no problem. Sole provides good cushioning.

Very comfortable! Perfect for hiking on rock and trails. However, no so great for sand. The sand gets into the shoe, and unlike a sandal, it has no way out. I found myself have to pause a number of times to take them off and shake them out. Other than that though, I love the overall secure and stable support.

These are absolutely wonderful shoes. They are so easy to take on and off. They are so comfortable on my 74-year-old feet. I highly recommend them.

Ok I really did not want to spend the hefty price. But my feet have always given me some problems with footwear. So I figured I would take a chance. Well I have to say these are amazing. Very comfortable, great fit. I love them. And Zappos is just a great company to do business with. This sandal/shoe will not disappoint. It is worth the extra money.

This is my second pair of these sandals. I find them wonderfully comfortable and protective. I keep one at my house in Mexico and one in the states. The cobblestone streets in Mexico are tough on shoes and feet, but these stand up to the task.

Had never had a pair of sandals. But I figured if these are Ecco sandals they would be good. I was not wrong. I have eight other pair of Ecco shoes. I am so happy with those I knew the sandals would no doubt be great also. The sandals are so comfortable I have been wearing them most of the time, socks on or not. Ecco shoes are usually a bit more expensive than other brands but there is a reason. The shoes are simply better! Shoe shopping for me is so much easier now. I go to an Ecco site only and make a selection. I have never been disappointed.

I was very pleased with the style & quality of construction of this shoe. I have C width foot with a low arch. The length & width were a good fit for me. The arch would provide great support for most, but was uncomfortable for my feet.

Loving these after 2 weeks of trumping around Ireland on vacation. While I have owned two pairs of Ecco and 2 pairs of Keen sandals, these seem a terrific combination of the features of both companies sandals. Well worth the money!

Bought these for my husband who wears a 12A. It is very difficult to find a sandal to fit his narrow foot, but with the adjustable heel strap and bungee, these shoes actually fit. And they are comfortable! Very pleased.

Living in Florida and always in the water, toe protection has always been a requirement for me. Typically I have worn Keen sandals over the years. After losing a Keen sandal while sight-fishing for flood tide reds in the muddy-bottom intracoastal waterways of north Florida, I decided to try out the Ecco VG Fisherman sandals. They have been fantastic. The adjustable heel strap holds firm, allowing a tight, snug fit should you need one. I found myself wearing these sandals everywhere. These sandals run large, so if you wear a US size 10 for example, consider getting either a size 43 or 42. I ended up wearing a 42. Zappos Customer Service is seriously the best that I have ever experienced.

Another triumph from Ecco. They are lightweight and very comfortable for all day wear.

I own many pairs of Ecco shoes, including several pairs of business shoes and also a pair of casual shoes. I have a wide fore-foot and generally have to take a chance on Ecco's sizing between either a size 42 or 43 -- depending on the shoe. I first ordered the 43 in this sandal and they were a bit too long for me. I next ordered the 42 and it was perfect -- better in the length and still good in width. I wore them over most of this past weekend (shopping, restaurants, walking to/from the pool, etc.) and they were supremely comfortable. My previous sandals were Keen Newports -- which were accidentally thrown-out in the recycling bin. I much preferred the look of the Keens over these Eccos, but the Keens were never comfortable for my wide feet. I'm thrilled that I thought to try the Eccos. Zappos service is awesome as usual!

Good cushioning and arch support. Excellent grip of sole on wet surfaces. Switched from Keen Newports which have poor grip and so-so cushioning. Alas the heel strap rips out after almost a year of daily use. Exactly the same failure I had with the Keens. Zappos replaced them which was above and beyond service.
