SK8 in 'em - These are the best value there is in hi-top skate shoes, and they're old-school chic. Get the ones with leather or suede uppers though, canvas just doesn't hold up.

Not what I was expecting but... I'm not a skater but I fell in love with these shoes when I saw them. The high ankle bothers me a bit and I recommend not lacing them too tight.

My feet hurt but I look GOOD - Good looking shoes; a little painful to break in but worth it.

Vans - The shoe is really great and really good for skateboarding if you skate. The only thing that was wrong with them was that they were a little narrow at the area where the laces start. I had gotten blisters on my foot from this. But I continued wearing them because they were good for skating even though they did hurt a little.

Zappos service - Although I have not worn these shoes long enough to comment on them, I would like to comment on the Zappos service. It was FAST (shoes came the day after my order), and the sales person was extremely helpful and courteous. Thanks.

Vans SK8 - They fit right out of the box with no problem. Good fit but not as comfortable as other makes that I paid less money for. That is my only complaint about these shoes is that they are over-priced. However, if you like the look and style and are willing to pay the price, they're worth it.

Great Look - I absolutely love the style of the Vans SK8-Hi shoes. The skull designs on the side of the shoes are the best part. Another thing that I liked was that you could change the colors of the shoe strings from black to white at no extra cost. Thanks Zappos.

Stylish. Not that comfortable, but stylish. I usually wear a 10.5 wide, so, as consensus seemed to be that these run a bit large, I opted for an 11, and I think that's about the best I was going to do. A touch narrow and a bit long in the toe, but a half size smaller would have been painful and anything larger would have looked comical. I imagine they'll be a bit better as they break in, but, frankly, I didn't buy a pair of pink and gray leather hi-tops for comfort alone.

I love my Vans - These shoes are super cool. The only problem is it is sort of a long process breaking them in regarding the hi-top area. Otherwise, no complaints.

I grew up wearing Vans back in the 80s and recently purchased a pair after more than 20 years. I know now why I stopped wearing them, they are uncomfortable if you have wide feet. They look awesome and are made well, but based on comfort or lack there of, this will definitely be the last pair I buy. Zappos Rocks though!

Vans SK8 His - VERY BIG DISAPPOINTMENT! They are very hard to get on, I almost broke my ankle trying. Looks way, way better online than in person.

Vans sk8-hi - I got these Vans as a birthday gift... and they're pretty good. I wouldn't recommend them if you're planning on skating a lot. They start to hurt your feet after a while. If you get these just to have and not skate in, they're a great shoe. I just don't like skating in them cause they hurt my feet. Insoles don't help much either because there isn't any padding on another places. I wouldn't recommend these shoes when it comes to skating.

Not for skating - These shoes just look cool, they're actually floppy and pretty uncomfortable for me - I need a bit of arch support. They also come almost a full size larger than what you're used to.

The SK8-Hi's, unfortunately, were unable to put up with the abuse of modern skateboarding. Several Kickflips into these shoes and you've lost the tread. Several weeks of skating shows a loss of the canvas siding as well as signs of wear on the toe. And where the extra foxing on the toe beings, there is an edge on the inside of the shoe that makes it very uncomfortable.

Disappointed!! I have been wearing vans for 5 years, and no other sneaker matches Van's fit and comfort. I thought this sneaker would be of the same fit/comfort in a high-top. Boy was I wrong. These are nothing more than converse high-top sneakers at twice the price. Zero comfort, zero support.
