These boots are beautiful! Sadly, as has been expressed by others, the shaft of the boot is way too small. I am a petite, slender person and these babies choked my calves. I had to send them back. With Old Gringo, I find the 10" shafts to be preferable as the 13" often are just too tight.

I have wanted these boots for a very long time and when they were 40% off- just had to do it. Never been happier - they are amazing. I just love them and get so many compliments- worth every penny. Thank you!

Perfect fit! I ordered a size 10 which is my normal size. Gorgeous boot. I wore them for 6 hours right out of the box without an issue.

I bought these 9 years ago and they are, hands down, my best ever boot purchase. They are comfortable, unique, and I get more complements on them than on any other thing I wear. I’m an Old Gringo for life girl.

These are absolutely beautiful boots! Gorgeous! They seem a little big for a 7 based on another pair of Old Gringos I own in a 7 that fit like a glove. I am a true 7 in boots so if you are as well you might want to size down a half size or order both sizes and compare

I got these as a gift for a special anniversary. I've been wearing them for years now, and they are absolutely perfect. They're perfect with bootcut jeans or casual dresses. Absolutely love them, and I get at least 2 compliments every time I wear them. For comfort- they're as comfy as cowboy boots can be. And they've warn incredibly well.

This is a gorgeous boot but unfortunately I am between a size 8 and 7.5. I have super skinny bird like ankles and there was too much volume in the 8 and the 7.5 was too short. SO bummed!

This boot is GORGEOUS! unfortunately I am between sizes, usually I'm an 8 but there was too much volume in the ankle area and a bit too long. The 7.5 fits great in the ankle and calf but a tiny bit too short. I have very skinny ankles and calves, this boot would not be good for bigger calves. I think they have a slouch version wich is wider in the calf area.

Oh, I am so disappointed! I love these boots and Zappos doesn't currently have the 7 1/2. These may be too big as well since there is a lot of volume in the ankle part of the boot. I have bird size ankles and calves so I find many boots to have too much volume. I am hoping a 7.5 will have less and will fit. These are beautiful boots and I love them. Lucchesse fits me and has similar boots but they are twice if not more three times the price ??

Whenever I wear my Bonnie's, everyone tells me how nice they are! I have about 12 pair OG and these are one of my favorites! I also love OG brand because they don't smack on my calves when I walk (w/cheaper or lower quality boot or if the shaft is way big) and I feel I have athletic calves (140#). I always order my EXACT size too unless they are OG yippie kai yay (only have one of those and had to size up 1/2 size). I say go for it, you won't regret it!

Wow, wow, wow! These boots are gorgeous! I became obsessed with embroidered cowgirl boots, and have tried different brands and styles. These are by far the best. they are gorgeous, comfortable (although they don't seem to have much padding, but I am planning to add an insert, my regular size 8 allows for that), and 13" shaft seems to flatter my legs in terms of where it hits on the calf, while the shorter shaft makes it look awkward. Very happy with this purchase.

I love this boot. It literally will go with any outfit. I have skinny calves/legs and the width of the shaft is perfect and too wide! I have only worn them twice (so far) and each time I have gotten tons of compliments.

My first cowboy boots! I'd drooled over these for a few years after first seeing them online. I think I'm a cowgirl at heart but live in a beach city. I saw them in a boot store while on vacation in AZ, so I tried them on. I usually wear an 8 in most shoes (sometimes 7 1/2 in sandals). The 8 would have allowed me to wear thicker socks and would have been easier to get my foot past the slim ankle-turn but I went for the 7 1/2 which looks so sleek on my feet and legs. They look like they were custom sized for me :-) All other brands I tried had that too-wide look after I tried these. I love that these have a leather sole and stacked heel. My husband actually said he would buy them for me! He swallowed hard at the price. I told him he didn't have to buy them but I didn't want to get any other pair just for the sake of have cowboy boots. He ordered online to shave some off the price. It was definitely a splurge spend for my penny-pinching hubby <3 The stitched design and combination of two shades of brown put together in a lovely curvy design is so amazing! I LOVE the vintage chic timeless, slightly worn look...kind of like they were made in the 50's but will look fabulous for generations to come. Perhaps I will someday have a granddaughter to pass them along to. For now I'm tempted to keep them on my fireplace hearth as a homey decoration while not wearing. Now, here's the challenge: I took them along on a ranch vacation this summer. It was hot. I had a hard time getting them on (but was told its easier if you put your leg up while pulling) and later they were almost impossible to get off even with my husband tugging on them. I need to break them in, but haven't had a chance to since we had an exceptionally hot and humid summer. I'm afraid to wear them unless there's someone home to help me get them off. I might have to have the ankle-turn area stretched a bit. I've also found that I need to wear a fairly thin sock with no seam bump at the edge or it causes a pressure point after awhile. Now that it's winter-chilly it's time to break those beauties in! I've worn them with bootleg jeans and had strangers tell me how much they liked them but now I have some skinny jeans so I can really let them shine! Think of them as an heirloom purchase!

These boots are a work of art. The quality is exceptional and even better they are very comfortable - from the moment you put them on. I wear a size 8 and ordered a size 8 and they fit perfectly (which for a cowboy boot means having some looseness). Here's some info on the narrow shaft that might be helpful. The shaft has a 13.5" circumference. Measure your calf at it's widest spot. I have a 14" calf and the boots fit with room to slide my hand in and with enough room for skinny jeans. Also a good shoe repair can stretch a boot shaft a bit if you are close.

I ordered these extra-beautiful boots because of the review that said they were narrow. The leather and embroidery colors are awesome! I got an 8 1/2 and 9 since people reported they ran long (I normally wear a 9 1/2). The tops of the 8 1/2 were perfect and just what I've been looking for with my thin calves. Yes, it's tight to get them on, just like I hoped for! But evidently they think people who wear a 9 have much larger calves as it was quite a jump in width at the calves! The 8 1/2 was too short for my foot, but otherwise PERFECT. The size 9? The usual-gappy-modern-day-made-for-the-Obese-American boot. Disappointed again. I would give them 5 stars for people who aren't 5' 8" and 115 pounds. You would love them. Can someone please make tall boots for non-obese women in a size 9 or 9 1/2?

Beautiful boot. Great fit. Stunning embroidery. Looks and feels like it costs as much as it does. Very reluctantly (and sadly) I had to return because I couldn't rationalize keeping two pairs of boots at this price.

These boots are stunning. I have wanted them for years and finally got them this pas christmas. My only problem with them is that the upper's run very narrow, so if you have muscular or 'thicker' thighs, these boots are not the best fit. I had to stretch out the calf by wearing thick socks and by simply wearing the boot around my house to stretch it out a bit. They're definitely not like my other cowboy boots, where the calf fits loosely and it looks so nice. These are a very tight fit for me (I'm 120 lbs and 5'4) my calves are not skinny or narrow. This is the ONLY thing I really dislike about the boots. Other than that, they're gorgeous. I really wish they stretch out over time. I might take them in to the local western store to leave them for a few days to get more stretched out.

These are the only boots you need! Go with everything, skirts, pants, dresses shorts, crops, every fabric, solid, prints, plaids...comfort beyond belief and perfect height with just the right circumference for a thin calf, balancing your frame, complementing legs, an asset to posture. Love these so much, may have to get second pair, even though they're constructed to last a lifetime. Suit every season and go especially well with kimono styles, side slts, vests, hats, belts, cherry blossoms; like a 19th century explorer heading west.

Holy Cow - these are awesome boots! A huge splurge for me, but worth every penny for the comfort, quality, and style. I feel like I just stepped out of a Sundance Catalogue. They have a timeless lived-in, rustic, but still very feminine look. Perfect with jeans and casual skirts. I have been waiting a lifetime for a pair of "real" cowgirl boots and from the moment I saw them online, I just knew that they were my destiny. I ordered 2 sizes, as some reviewers suggested to size down and I wanted to try both on to compare. My "true size," 9.5, fits perfectly. There is a little wiggle room in the toes, the widest/ball area of my foot sits where it's supposed to, the instep is comfortably snug but not tight, and there is a slight heel pop (which is apparently normal for new boots). Very comfortable right out of the box, and I'm sure that they'll only get better over time. My only "complaint" is the inward facing seams, which seem to rub a little, just above my outer ankles. It may go away as the boot breaks in, but it's nothing that a little moleskin or a local shoemaker can't fix. Fit at the calf area (a potential problem area for some) is snug but not tight. I have average legs, and measured 13.5 inches around the widest part of my calf (which is exactly where they hit). I don't plan on tucking my jeans in, so it's not a big deal for me. I've had them only a few days, and received a ton of compliments. Highly recommend!

I love these boots and get tons of compliments on them. I was disappointed that toes got dinged up quickly, but with time I've accepted that's just part of what gives them their character. If you're looking for a sweet pair of cowboy boots, I highly recommend these!

These boots are AMAZING! If you have any doubt about spending the money, all I have to say is "Go For It!" It's wearing a work of art on your feet & although these pics are good, they don't do it quite justice. I normally wear an 8.5 in shoes, 8 in Ariats, & I went up a full size to 9.5 & they are perfect. With snip toe boots, you don't want your toes going to the end. I do have wide-ish, flat feet & a really bad bunion on one large toe, so there was plenty of romminess. I will admit, they are not padded with inserts, which my poor feet need, so I bought a pair of Ariat ATS footbed inserts which make it a lot better & not as roomy on the width.

Love these! Comfy and cute! Get lots of compliments. Old Gringo is a favorite brand in western boots for style and comfort for me.
