Gorgeous boots but they seem to run small - the sheepskin lining is pretty thick (which would be great in the winter!) but make the boots smaller in size. Also, the circumference is not 16.5 inches - these boots are smaller than that!

Good looks combined with great warmth equal happy me! The size is true, meanng that wearing heavy socks will require a half size larger I think. Expensive boot, but my last pair saw me through 3 long Wisconsin winters of long daily dog walks.

I really like that the shearling covers the inside of the boot. Not just the inside of the shaft. I love the rugged sole, has a great grip. But, I had to send them back. I'm normally a 7.5 so I ordered a 7.5 and an 8. The 8 proved a little too big and slid around, but with an extra thick sock it could've worked. The 8 just looked too big on my feet for my petite frame. The 7.5 was a tad too snug to really enjoy the boot. My feet are a little wider than average and I have an average size calf so I could wear them with skinny jeans, but an extra layer of tall socks would've been way too snug. If you're looking for a great Ugg alternative which is waterproof and doesn’t have trouble with narrower type shoes, this is a great pair of boots.

I was looking for a warm winter boot that was also attractive. These are perfect! Very warm and comfortable. The suede is lovely and the shearling is so soft. I haven’t owned them for long, so I don’t know how they’ll hold up but they appear to be well made.

I have athletic calves and was worried that they wouldn't fit, but they did! My toes will be nice and toasty as the wool lines the whole boot. I was going to buy UGGs and I'm so glad that I chose the Vale as the design is so much more elegant. A sturdy, warm, stylish winter boot. This is my second La Canadienne boot. I have a wedge heel shortie that has lasted me about 10 years and they still look good.

Toasty toes! Love the sheepskin lining, yet, while casual, the style is not clunky. Replacing a pair of Vale black suede boots that I wear daily for 3+ snowy months in the winter. Worth the price -- excellent quality, durable, low maintenance. I have owned my current pair for 9 years at a cost of about $40/year.

These boots are so luxurious and comfy, and absolutely beautiful. The only issue at all is that they are very warm so they are limited to cooler weather so they are not all purpose, but a must for winter. The arch support is good and they are a perfect true to size fit for me, snug but not tight (I often have to go up a size). They are totally worth the price.

I bought La Canadienne Vale boots when I relocated to a city with cold and snowy winters. The 8th season is coming up and they still look good. The sheepskin lining is toasty; great fit; the sole is secure on ice and snow. The suede is slightly slouchy, but very low maintenance. Yes; they are expensive. But my annual cost has averaged about $55 so far, with value yet to come. My go-to casual footwear from mid-November through late April.

In the middle of the longest deep freeze in recent history in central North Carolina, I LOVE THESE BOOTS! They are warm, stylish and comfortable and best of all, they fit my very skinny calves snuggly. If you don't have thin calves, these probably aren't the boots for you. But for those of us who do, the struggle is real to find boots that don't have a huge gap at the top. I've purchased and returned numerous pairs of tall boots, including La Canadienne, simply because they rarely fit.

Very warm. Very comfortable. I have narrow calves and they fit well. Perfect with tights and a skirt as well as tucked in jeans. The tread is robust; I'm assuming it will be great in the snow. Normally a size 8. In this boot it felt a bit short, so opted for 8.5 which again is perfect.

This is a pair of beautifully made boots. The shearling is so soft and warm! Adds a bit of height without sacrificing comfort. And it just looks so good! I plan to wear this in the midwest this winter and need something that is weatherproof. Hopefully this holds my expectation then! One thing to echo in a previous post is that the calf circumference is not as large as I thought (I do have wide calf), most likely due to shearling lining.

This was my first time trying this brand so I ordered both a 9½ and a 10. The 9½ fit very true to size and is warm and comfortable out of the box. However I would definitely need the 10 if I planned on wearing socks with these boots. I tried both sizes on with a regular pair of socks (not thick boot socks) and found that the 9½ seemed narrower in width. The 10 was comfortable with the socks. I decided that these boots were plenty warm for me without socks so I kept the 9½. The black suede is lovely and a jet black color. The shearling lining is extremely soft and I love that it covers the entire interior of the boot. The circumference of the boots fit snugly around my rather large upper calf so anyone with slender calves will be disappointed. I am ecstatic that it fits so well! Also I cannot say enough about the fantastic shipping with Zappos. My order arrived in about 18 hours.

My new favorite boot! Love the shearling lining & easy on-off. Wore this boot all through a recent trip to Boston without problems. Easy to style & super comfortable. I wear between a size 9.5/10 med. & have a somewhat high arch. I always order a size 10 because I like a bit of wiggle-room for my toes. I've worn this boot barefoot as well as with leggings & tights. Think I'll get a lot of mileage out of 'em! La Canadienne is one of my favorites & I own several pairs of their shoes & boots.

These boots were exactly the style I was looking for. Sadly, they were very tight on top of my feet, and my feet are quite slender. They were true to size lengthwise. The outer sole is designed well, sturdy but still elegant, however, the insole felt quite uncomfortable after trying them around the house for an hour. My feet were achy. For such a pricy product, I would have expected excellent comfort.
