My job requires use of steel toe safety shoes and I have only worn Blundstones for the last several years. The BL172s break in well and are comfortable enough to put in several miles of walking a day. They are also stylish enough to clean up and wear with a pair of khakis when the VPs are in town. Once they get too scuffed up they are relegated to yard duty and replaced with a new pair. The BL172s are not as comfortable as my BL550 casual boots (the 550s have a leather liner, these do not), but they are close once the leather molds to your foot. They are very secure for slip on boots, but if you prefer to crank your laces up tight these probably aren't for you.

This is a great, comfortable boot. I work in a warehouse and I am literally walking on concrete floors for 8 hours. I was nervous when we had to start wearing steel toe! - This is the most comfortable boot I have worn !

Once you find the right size, and Zappos is amazingly forgiving while you mail your boots back and forth, these are extraordinary boots and a good value. I bought them for working in the woods, often in mud, sometimes ankle deep, felling trees, bucking firewood, cutting and dragging brush. In 8 months of wearing them my feet never once got wet. Very comfortable. I do have a wide toe-spread and I can feel the edge of the steel toe on my right toe interphalangeal joint. It seems that every boot company uses steel toes from a single supplier. Nevertheless, I highly recommend these boots for comfort and waterproofing.

Been wearing Blundstones as work shoes in a kitchen for almost 20 years. They are comfortable, slip resistant, and clean up great. I use an insole to get a real tight fit, as they fit loose.

An excellent steel toed boot. Fits perfectly and very comfortable. Looks great and appearance is good for office or rugged for the field. Best boot I've owned. And I'm picky, believe me.

I don't usually wear steel toed boots, but since I was in the field more with the employees it was the safe thing to do. They are very comfortable and go on very easy, but do not seem to move around as I thought they might. I recommend them.

My husband loves these boots. He has worn Blundstone boots for a few years and tried this pair with the thicker sole for the northwest fall/winter. It has been a nice choice. He works outdoors all season & they are great!

I have to wear steel toe boots for my job and I was tired of untying my boots every time I went into the house from the outside winter slop. This steel toe slip on was the perfect solution. Comfortable, stylish and very well crafted. Worth the money! The customer service at Zappos is second to none!

I considered these boots for a while before making the purchase. I should have bought them sooner! Very comfortable, good traction and a steel too. Whatcha waiting for...place the order.

They run about a half size large for me. But I just wear a thicker sock. The most comfortable safety boot I've ever worn.

What a comfortable boot! I wear these 10-12 hours 6 days a week. They are also very water proof and a joy to have on my feet.

I get these shoes for my son. He says they are just fantastic, and so comfortable to wear all day. Zappos' policy of sending them immediately is just awesome! I love ordering from Zappos!

Delighted - plenty of room in toe, holds my narrow heel well. First try on I knew they would be comfortable.

There were very comfortable right out of the box. My only issue was the steel toe. It's cold in the winter and rubbed my hammer toes without give. I imagine after break in which wouldnt be long, I may love them. However, I didn't need the steel toe. I will definitely put tese on my list for further purchase w/out the steel toe. Nice leather, gore and quality stitching. You can tell they are well made.

My first slip-on boot. Great shoe. 1/2 size large. I wear a US10 but it was too big - especially for a slip on. Zappos came through and received the US 9.5 the next day. It felt a little tight, and I was worried they wouldn't break in with the steel toe. took about 3 solid days to break in. Now they are fantastic. Can wear all day in comfort. No laces to burn through or break. They are easy on and off. Wish they came in brown. Zappos sight is deceiving. They call this shoe brown. The leather is black with brown stitching and elastic. Waiting to see if they hold up over time, but so far would definitely recommend them.

I’ve had 4 pair of Blundes and all were stamped 9, these were at least 10. My feet were swimming in the boot.

I'm dealing with severe chronic plantar fasciitis, and am looking for a wide toe box work boot for me to be on my feet all day on my farm. I'm a W10 (D) and purchased a M9 (D) (PT wants me to size up .5). This boot does not feel any wider than a Women's Medium width (B). Excellent Blundstone quality, stitching, sole, leather upper as expected, I just need a very specific shoe to overcome my foot pain right now.

I’ve owned these for about a year and so far, I’m a little underwhelmed by the work version compared to the casual boots that I own and love. These are my second pair of Blundstones and I wanted some steel toe, EH rated boots for work. These things are eating my expensive wool socks. The stitching on the back of the inside of the boot chafes against my heel and has worn a hole through two pairs. The arch support isn’t great either and I would definitely throw away the stock pair of insoles and buy some nicer aftermarket ones. Overall, I kind of wish I went with something else. The casual pair of Blundstones I have are great and very comfortable but the soles are falling apart after about two years and let water in. Once this occurs, they are not resoleable and need to be trashed. $200+ down the drain.

They looked well made & might have been comfortable, save 1/2 size too short. I measure 11.5 & normally that length is correct for most brands. However, I knew immediately after taking three paces that they were 1/2 size smaller than needed. So I’d wear a 12; unfortunately, those were unavailable.

I've really wanted a pair of boots like this (pull on, Chelsea/Romeo style).. this is my third attempt and what I have determined after talking to folks who own Blundstone's (or other brands of this style boot) that fit like a glove, is that I must have too small of ankles for how large my feet are. They end up being very loose around my ankles and I can't stand it. Even tried women's specific sized Docs, same issue. But if you have thick ankles or perhaps it is proportionate feet, they're a nice boot!

When I would bend my foot, the steel toe would dig into the top of my foot. The heel slipped also. I am afraid a size smaller would be too tight and not fit.

OK all-round work boot. On the plus side it is extraordinarily convenient to take off/put on, and the steel toe is nice. However the steel toe puts the shoe borderline close to too short given the sizing. Kick guard on toe is a nice feature. It's pretty comfortable but one can find more comfortable boots in this class. Blundstone includes a packet of nikwax sealer which is a nice little touch. The lugged sole is decently thick and should last a while. Overall quality of construction & finishing is really poor. The leather is very thin and of low quality. In the photos it looks ok, but in person the leather has a very plastic-like finish and feel. Forget the "premium leather upper" advertised. The line from the mold is clearly visible on the sole. Upper is glued, not stitched, to the sole. Pull up the insole and look inside the boot and you can see just how sloppy the construction is. For the most part the boot is unlined. This boot should be ok for a year or two kicking around the jobsite (I'm a spray tech) but for comparable money you can get a much higher quality pull-on work boot, one that uses thicker, quality leather, and which could even be welted. I doubt this would last very long for anyone needing a truly rugged boot. Really dissuaded me from buying Blundstones in the future.
