I've worn Dockers for years and really love them, they're my go-to office work pants, but I have been disappointed in the last couple of pairs that I've purchased. However, this most recent purchase was not so bad. They have indeed changed though. I've always ordered either a size 6/L or 8/L (depending on the bathroom scale) and had no problems until this year. The longs are REALLY long these days. I finally settled on the 8 (regular seam - hoping to be down to size 6 soon) and they seem to be okay. I know I haven't shrunk, it's just that Dockers have gotten longer and that's okay, I wish more womens' pants offered longer styles, I just wish I'd had a heads up.

This review is for Dockers metro trouser - Color Sand - size 14 - inseam long. I'm a little under 5'8" tall ( 5'7 &3/4"). Weight = 180. Hips about 40", I do have long legs. Recommend. I do not think they run small as others have said. Depends on size of your waist, hips and thighs in comparison to your weight. But the long inseam are too long or me, since I never wear high heels higher than 1.5 inches. Usually need long inseam, but such is buying from mail order. Otherwise the fit is nice, the fabric is heavy. Price is nice. I ordered the regular inseam same size 14, same color to replace, but will wait to return the longs to see how the regular inseam fit and compare.

I ordered these pants on Thursday evening well after the next day order time. I spent the entire day at retail stores trying to find a pair of blue Dockers without any luck. Back to late Thursday ordering from Zappos. I expected the order to arrive Monday or later but low and behold my pants arrived on Friday less than 24 hours after I ordered them. I did order blue pants but received black pants or perhaps they are a very dark blue. I do not think this was the shipper's problem because the SKU matched what I ordered. I did not return them and am satisfied with my black Dockers. My less than 24 hour shipping was also with free shipping. Zappos rocks and I will order from Zappos again.

I bought both the navy and the grey in these pants. The grey was a slightly thicker cotton and did not have as much stretch as the navy. The navy was fitted but comfortable, the grey a little too tight. I bought size 12, and I'm 5'6" and 170 pounds. The length of the medium was okay, maybe a tad long but I won't shorten, should be fine with shoes.

These would fit garden work, safari traveling, and any activity requiring good, sturdy pants. The fabric is a bit too coarse for making them a jeans-substitute or day-to-day pants as I hoped they would be.

I purchased the chambray/blue color, which looks nice against a grey background, but in person looked more casual than I had anticipated. However, if that was the only issue I probably would have kept them. I am 5'8", weigh just shy of 170 pounds, and hold my weight at my waist. I am not necessarily an apple shape; more like a ruler. Even 5-10 pounds ago I was comfortable in a size 12 because of my proportions. These pants fit nicely at the waist. I liked the elastic/stretchy feel to the waistband; it did not seem too constrictive. The length was fine. It was a bit too baggy for me just posterior to the pockets; giving the optical illusion of more hips than I would like (a common problem with ruler shapes like me; probably not too bad if you favor the pear variety). Additionally, I was disappointed because just from wearing them around the house they seemed a bit wrinkled in the leg crease just from sitting and walking. I am returning them. I will continue to search for good work pants.

I ordered four pairs of these and every single pair fit completely different. I love the stretch waist band. That is very comfortable. I will be returning these, however. You definitely need to order a size bigger than your normal size and I would recommend ordering the longer length and altering yourself unless you are prepared to return numerous times to find the right fit, as I have. Zappos returns are the best but I am highly disappointed in the variance of the pants.

I am 5'4", 145 lbs and typically wear a size 6/8. I went ahead and ordered the 8 in these because in the past I have found Dockers tend to run a tad bit on the small size. Boy was I glad I did! There is a 2"wide elasticized waste band on these pants that is my least favorite item about these pants. I do like the "stretch" they have because i have large thighs. So, unless you have long, slender legs I would definitely buy a size up!

I wasn't sure how to rate these pants because it sounds like they work fine on some bodies; they just didn't work on mine. Admittedly, I should have paid closer attention to the women reviewers who bought these pants and said they had boyish figures. I do not have a boyish figure. I'm generally a curvy size 10 with a high, thicker waist. I ordered these pants and could barely get them over my hips (I also got a size 12 in black for good measure, which did go over my hips but felt tight in the waist and overly wide in the leg, and looked overly mom-ish). The return was easy, though. No big deal. It was an easy thing to try for such a bargain.

Just be warned - there are no functional pockets on these pants. None whatsoever in the back, what looks like pockets in the photo are just silly pocket-shaped decorations. The front pockets MIGHT hold a credit card sideways if you don't sit down or move around too much. They look okay, but where does my telephone go? It's too warm to put it in my sock... I thought Dockers were practical!

The style is ok, but these are very high wasted (not trendy). They also run very big-both in the waste and leg (I am 5'7")! I have returned them.

Very high wasted and too big for size. Waste band is stretchy. Style is nice for a bigger size.

A size smaller than the exact same pants I have now, which fit. Must be mismarked--but this is an ongoing problem with Dockers Metro pant, unfortunately, which are no longer available on their site. I will get a larger size because I love the style and cross my fingers!

These pants are hideous. I bought a size 4 but the problem wasn't that they weren't great fitting at the waist. I generally think I have big thighs, but these fit like MC Hammer pants! I am returning.

I own 3 other pairs of Dockers in size 10L. This pair of 10L is 3" - 4" shorter than my other pairs.
