I've been working in the Antarctic and Arctic for 23 years and in that time have worn boots by Sorel, Baffin and Acton. These are the best by far. Well-fitting, pretty durable and plenty warm - even for lengthy snowmobile journeys in temps below -30. Wear a polypro or wool liner sock (not cotton!) and a good heavyweight wool sock and you'll be good to go. Every night, I make sure to remove the liner and insoles and dry them out in the roof of the tent. The only issue I've had is the stitching coming apart on the liner sole section. Nothing major that a needle and dental floss can't solve. As I said, best I've worn so far and I'll get another pair when these are done.

I’m typically a 9 or 9 1/2 depending on the brand. I bought a 10 with the Eiger and was very satisfied with that choice. The boot has plenty of insulation and padding, and any reasonable winter sock adds just enough size for a perfect fit. Entry and tightening are straightforward, without laces to tug and worry about stowing. Exactly what I was looking for in a decent height snow boot.

Live in Montana on a ranch. These are the reason I got through this winter. Warm, comfortable and durable.

This is the first boot of this type that does not feel like you will walk out of it. It most certainly will keep you warm. I got them because I needed a boot that would keep you warm when standing or sitting. Namely ice fishing or the like. But these are a 5 star, and the best in class for a very cold temp boot.

The “Eiger” is a great choice for a snow boot — extremely well insulated, easy to secure with a couple of Velcro straps, and top pull-line that doesn’t have to be tucked into the boot and come loose to be dragged in the snow. I’m normally a size 9 1/2 and ordered a 10 in this boot, and the fit was perfect.

I am a size 9.5 usually and size 11 was slightly too tight. Overall, the boots seem incredibly warm and not ridiculously bulky given the superior insulation. While the temp rating of -80C seems like a stretch, I would guess that these would be comfortable for ice fishing or other sedentary activities in -40C or colder.

Second season of owning my boots, tho, to be fair, last season we did not get much snow so I do not think I wore them more than 3-4 times. First three times I wore these snowmobiling in the last two weeks and my socks were soaking wet. Wet completely inside the boot, liners, socks and bottom of the inside of boot has water in it! Called customer service this morning and they informed me I can not wear a cotton sock with these as it will absorb my sweat making the boots interior wet as well. She insists that you must wear a wool sock with these boots as they are "very technical and are designed to wick away your sweat and cotton socks will reabsorb that sweat" and goes on to inform me these boots are only water resistant. NOT guaranteed she says. Funny they did not respond this way last season and all I have ever worn was cotton socks with them or any boot in the past. I know all about sweating in boots and am not accepting that excuse.A "very technical" boot that does not resist moisture at all from my experience is useless. Now this is not my first time wearing boots of many many types as I work outside for a living year round. I have worn boots from Cabelas , ll Bean, kamik, carhart, timberline ; leather , rubber, canvas, nylon; you name it and I have tried it. I have never had a problem with this much water in a boot unless it had a hole in it.These boots are like new out of the box still. Never have experienced as much water as these absorbed! I have just tried silicone spray on them and will give them another shot with the suggested wool socks but I do not expect any improvement but will update this review then. Sorry I bought them as they came highly recommended for warmth and waterproofness from the store I bought them.
