I love these boots! I have owned them for years and they are super comfortable, and when I get them cleaned up they look like new. I wish I could find a leather boot that feels as good but so far all the leathers dig into my ankles. Any suggestions?

I love the way they hugged my leg, since tall boots usually look very big on my calves. Unfortunately they lack support and my heel started to hurt after 10 minutes wearing it over carpet.

I literally ordered $7k in boots from Zappos to try to find a pair that are stylish and comfortable...these were my pick! They are simple yet nice enough to dress up or down and most importantly they are incredibly comfortable. This will be a new favorite brand of mine!

This are fantastic boots. They fit like a glove. They look super fashionable. Pricey but really worth money. Comfortable from day one. Very well made.

SUCH a great boot, wonderfully comfortable and very cute. I have a narrow calf, so many boots are too big for me at the tops but this one is perfect (beware if you have larger calves). Dressy enough for work but great with jeans as well. I have 2 other pairs of La Canadienne boots, and while they are expensive they are really worth it. I can't say enough about how comfy they are.

Very good looking, super comfortable. Please make these in brown! Works with my slender calves, narrow heel, and love of the comfortable fit of a round toe. Stuart Weitzman used to make a boot called Half Time, which was a lot like the fit of his 50-50, except it did not come up to the knee -- I've been looking for a similar boot for ages, and, this is it! You can walk all day in it. Dress up a bit, or great with jeans tucked in.

I have three pair of la cannadienne boots. All 9 1/2. All four or five years old. However, I ordered three different styles of canadiennes on this order and every pair of 9 1/2 were small and tight. What's up with that? This boot was the prettiest but just had to go back. Order up a size.

I really didn't want to love these boots but the heart wants what the heart wants. They are gorgeous, look great with all my skirts and dresses. Are comfortable enough to stomp around London all day and then with a quick brush look chic at night. I have thin legs and they don't gap. Even though they have a low heel they still look dressy.

These boots are fantastic! From the minute I put them on they were comfortable -- that just doesn't happen! I have worn them already many times and winter isn't even here yet. The suede looks dressy and the inside is lined with a soft, warm, but thin layer. I wasn't going to splurge for the cost, but by comparison, I will wear these out and they will be well worth it because of the comfort! The heel is perfect, they work with pants and dresses! With free shipping, try them, they won't disappoint! I've received many compliments and questions about where I found such a good looking boot with a low heel! Zappos, of course! Thank you Zappos!

I've probably tried on 100 pairs of boots. These are the best by far. I had my eye on a pair of Jimmy Choos for 3X the price (outrageous!) The La Canadienne's are well made and very attractive. Worth the price. I hope they are truly waterproof as others say they are. My one concern is if they will keep my feet warm enough. But I'm keeping them because they are beautiful.

Love, love, love these boots! This is my third pair of La Canadienne boots (different styles-none are worn out!) They are super comfy and waterproof. I live in a very rainy area so waterproof is a must. I tried two models for a riding boot, and found Shane suited me best. The other style was Stefanie. The Shane shaft is just a little shorter than the Stephanie, so it lets a little more of my dancer's leg curves show. Both are great and have a wide enough toe box to accommodate bunions and are comfy to walk in all day.

I typically wear a size 8.5 in boots and the 8.5 fits perfectly. The calf circumference is misleading though. My calf is 14.5" and these fit very snugly--I almost returned for concern they would be too tight. I've worn them around the house and they've warmed to my leg and feel comfortable. I love the heel height and footbed support and they are VERY flattering on the leg. Can wear a thick foot sock (but not thick on the leg sock) and there's plenty of room. They are also warm and insulated--perfect versatility for my trip to London this winter and for wear in the snow where I live!

I deliberated back and forth between the Shane and the Frye Melissa Button Back Zip. I rarely spend this much money on footwear but I had tried on several boots in the stores and could not find anything in black that didn't look too cowboy or military for my taste. I wanted the riding boot look but a boot that I could wear with everything...dress it up or down. Also, comfort was a big issue with me. I have just recovered from a weird case of shingles on my right foot and calf that left nerve damage in the bottom of my foot that does not tolerate undue pressure on the arch of my foot. I just recieved the Shane in the black suede and they are striking! I have had them on this afternoon with skinny jeans with thin socks and I love the look. I chose these as I had read some of the reviews about the zipper on the Melissa's being crooked and I didn't particularly like the zipper being in the back. The Shane zipper is inconspicuous and zips smoothly. The suede is beautiful with no variations noted. I was concerned when I saw the photo of the toe of the boot that it would be too narrow. However, it is perfect in my normal 7.5 size and I can tell that even if it was a bit snug, that it would probably loosen over time. I will probably wear these with tights or thin socks as I live in a mild climate. They fit my calves perfectly which is hard for me to find in a boot as I have skinny, non-muscular calves. They come to about 2.5 inches below my knees, which is a good height for me (I am 5'4"). If you are one who wants to wear big thick socks or need a lot of arch support, this may not be the boot for you. I could probably get an insert in these boots but it would make it quite snug. I don't foresee that I will need one, so these beauties are keepers for the long haul!! They have classic styling that will keep them on my favorites list for years to come. Can't wait to wear them with a black skirt to see Bonnie Raitt in Asheville come October!! Thanks to all the other reviews as they were very helpful in making my decision.

I searched high and low for suede rider boots that are on the dressier side, and finally found these and ordered them. When I tried them on, however, they fit a bit too tall on my legs, and the top circumference was too big, so basically the boots looked like they flared out at the top near my knee. Everything else was perfect though - the comfort, quality of suede, placement of the buckle. I was really sad to have to return them because my short legs. For reference, I am 4'-10" tall and tired on a size 5.

These are beautiful boots. Alas, my calves have enjoyed the benefit of daily hill climbing and so are too muscular to fit comfortably in these boots.

This is a beautiful boot. The only problem is it's made for people with thin calves and there really is no give to help them up. I have muscular calves, so I wear them scrunched and they still look good.

I had loads of expectations from these boots. I have never paid so much for a pair of shoes but I was looking for something of this particular style and quality for a long time and given the raving reviews I had decided to make an exception with these. Alas, as they say, the bigger the expectations the bigger the disappointment. These boots are very nice don't get me wrong, but firstly, they are not worth their price, not even close. They're of good quality but I had much better shoes for much less (The zipper looks a bit poor, that's one of the main things that bothered me). Now, I would have kept them anyway if they had fitted well, but the top of the shaft is w-a-y more wide than it appears on the photos\video; It doesn't quite "hug" you upper calf but rather looks like something Puss-in-Boots should wear. Now I just have to say, these boots aren't bad, but for 450$ you would expect something that's closer to perfect. I ended up buying a handmade pair of riding boots for 300 Dollars and cannot be more happy with them. Lastly, I wear a size 39 EU, sometimes 40 because I have somewhat wide feet and this 8.5 fitted perfectly. As for comfort, I think they were pretty good but I didn't really walk around in them that much so I can't really say

I wanted to love this shoe. The footbed fit my foot perfectly but like others mentioned, the circumference was just too tight around my average calf. Going back.
