I love these shoes! I am always a size 40 regardless of the brand, but with this style, I needed a 42 to get the width I needed. Fortunately, it was not too long in the length. The heel is not too high, just enough to give it a dressy look. No break in period required. Love the red, not too bright, just a pop of color. It is a little more red than a traditional cordovan. I highly recommend these shoes. I will be following Zappos closely in hopes that they eventually go on sale and I can get the other color.

This was my first pair of shoes from Zappos. I could not be happier. I love them. Ordering from Zappos was so easy.

I have had a hard time buying shoes with a bit of hill due to my right toe s/p spur removal. This pair was fantastic from the get go and the leather gets softer the more you wear it. So I recommend it, true to size.

Love the look of these boots. However, they are much too narrow for my foot. Because I couldn't get it on my foot, I cannot answer other questions about it. I'm extremely disappointed.

Beautiful footwear, too narrow for comfort even on my narrow feet. Sadly, must return.

These are awesome shoes. They are very stylish with pants or skirts, and what is more they are actually comfortable. I have horrible feet, and I usually have to choose to wear somewhat old ladyish ugly shoes. But, even with a heel [which is rubber and cushiony], I have almost no problems wearing them. To find such cute and stylish boots that I can wear is real triumph. My only concern is that I will wear them out!

Beautiful ankle boot! I bought the smoke and I adore the color, the leather, and the overall style. I am pretty consistently a 10, medium width. I went with the 42 (10-10.5) and it fits fine. It is a bit narrow, but the more I wear it, the more it has conformed to my foot. It hasn't been cool enough to wear out and about yet, so have just been wearing around the house. They are very comfortable and the sole seems grippy and flexible without being flimsy. I can see wearing these with jeans, slacks, skirts, and some dresses. Can't wait for cooler weather!

Cute and good quality but very narrow. I tried it on last year and almost bought it; it was comfortable but a little hard to get on and off. This year it seems to have been manufactured even narrower. I usually wear at 39. This year it's too narrow even in a 40. Had to return it!

I got the size that I usually get for Rieker, and it felt a little tight when I received it. I thought that it would perhaps stretch out over time because it seemed not tight enough to warrant exchanging to the next size up. However, after having worn them a bit, it's obvious I made the mistake of not exchanging them for a size larger. The cut is very narrow, and it hasn't seemed to stretch out much. Otherwise, it would have been another perfect pair of shoes from Rieker.

Normally wear size 38 (7-7 1/2) but it was too narrow. Tried size 39 and it seems a tiny bit tight, but will keep them thinking that it will stretch out a bit. Cute and stylish.

Cute bootie. The heel height was perfect for comfort, but the sole was not cushioned enough to make walking even short distances comfortable. Looks good on the foot. May need to add cushion, but get a 1/2 size up so there will be enough room. While the size was correct for me (sans cushion) the heel slipped a bit when walking.

I bought these in Smoke, size 7, my size. They are extremely stylish, look very "top shelf", the leather being lovely and soft, the heel height just right for a stylish, but comfortable look. They were not completely comfortable right out of the box though for me. They could use a bit of arch for a high end boot. And at first it seemed they were going to slip up and down on my heel. However, after a bit of wear with my medium weight socks, they seem to not slip anymore and obviously the leather will begin to conform to my foot shape better. I bought some arch inserts which are too big. I cut about 3/4" off the flat side of the arch insert and plan on putting them into the bootie if I Plan on wearing them a long time, like to the city. But will say for looks, they are gorgeous.

Super comfortable, but ran quite small. I am a 9.5 narrow and I got a 10M and they were too tight and too small for me. Had I not found another shoe in the meantime, I would have ordered a larger size. They are very comfortable!

These boots are so adorable. I just love the style. It does run narrow, so be forewarned. So far the width of the shoes have not been a problem for me. The shoes are comfortable and stylish. They can be worn with jeans, dressy pants, and dresses.

Beautiful style and comfortable, but the color is brown-gray (more brown than gray, but not exactly brown either). I couldn't find anything to wear with it.

Great shoe. Size was true. They look great with slim jeans. The are comfy and the heal has a lot of give. I cannot wear heals for long but this boot is super comfortable.

Extremely stylish and comfortable right out of the box. Absolutely no break in period required. I love the rubber soles and the heel height is perfect with pants or skirts in a business environment. Purchased in black but will also go for the smoke.

I love this shoe's style. I got the lilac and it brightens up any outfit in a subtle way. The only problem is the little tie on the side keeps coming untied and needs to be double-knotted. Otherwise, you will be walking around with loose shoestrings dangling on the ground and will have to retie continuously. This is what has kept me from ordering another pair in black. So I will try some other Riekers because they are wonderfully made and I have other styles, all comfortable.

I loved the fit and feel of these boots, but unfortunately, the very first time I wore them the zipper in the left boot split. I examined it closely and it appeared to have been a flawed zipper that was used. I have had to return the boots but intend to repurchase them when the color (medoc) is again available in my size.

I ordered the smoke color. It looked like a pretty gray taupe. The leather is soft and the details are cute in person. The problem is the sizing. I am a true 9.5 and the 40 was too short and too tight. Too bad because I would keep them if they fit.

I have owned these boots for a few weeks. Pros: Great color (smoke). It can best be described as a grayish brown. Style is really adorable and feminine! Have had many compliments! Ankle height is perfect for under boot cut pants and skinny jeans as well. Leather is soft and supple. Sole is rubber tread, good for winter weather. Easy to get in and out of with side zip. Heel height is not too high or low. Cons: Sizing is kind of strange. I had to go up to next size (normally a 7 1/2 but the 37 was way too tight and short). Size up has definitely stretched and loosened up in just 3 weeks time. Foot bed could be softer. I can put in a Scholl's liner because it has gotten looser so this helps with cushioning. I also noticed that the fit of the left boot was different than the right (smaller). Maybe it was just the pair I received though. No arch support, you'll need arch inserts for high arches.

My usual Rieker size 40 was too small. I couldn't even fit my foot half way, but I exchanged it for size 41 and it fit perfectly. Very comfortable from first time wearing. I spent the whole day on my feet in these shoes and remembered that I have new shoes only when I got compliments on them. Pretty nice.

Having had foot surgery I'm always looking for a comfortable shoe with support. I have very high arches and a narrow foot as well this shoe fit like magic and is so chic. I wore it all day for a wedding very nice fit. If you have foot issues, I'd recommend this lovely boot in an extra half size up.

I just got these today, and I love them! I will say they run a bit narrow (yeah, but I have bunions, so) may try a 1/2 size up, but a keeper! Well made, good quality leather, good rubber sole and heels, and flexibility, which I love. They almost have a cowboy look, from the front, until you see the foldover detailing, stitching and lacing bow-flourish. So it's a mix of styles. See wearing these with jeans, pants. The cut would look awkward with skirts or leggings though, in my opinion. Cool thing, is that if I decided I needed a half size bigger, there's no hassle or expense with Zappos. Love your customer service.

I ordered these and I always get size 8 or 39; these were tight when I put them on. Recommend at least a half size larger when you order them.
