I have always loved high heels, but my feet have never agreed. I have never worn a comfortable high heel in my life. In the past, I have purchased Dansko Rafael, with a low heel, and they were a killer. These shoes were comfy right out of the box, no break in. I was able to wear them all day! What a pleasant surprise. This style of Dansko runs one size big.

Received mine the next day (thanks Zappos again), and love the look and feel of these Danskos. Very different from the numerous clogs I have. Nice height without the strain on your feet.

I love these shoes, just got them in black. Found them to be much more comfortable than the "dress" shoe footbed Dansko uses on the Beth, Brianna, etc - those always seem to hurt the ball of my foot. I also have shoes in the Professional and Solstice style footbeds from Dankso (and love them too). While those are comfortable, these are so much cuter and stylish. One of the most feminine looking Dankso's, without losing the benefit of a good arch support and footbed. I wear jeans most of the time, and these look great with them. I notice some people have felt they were smaller and other larger than normal. I felt these were true to size for a Dansko. I got the same size I usually get, and haven't had any issues. As with almost any other Dansko shoe, the back is intended to "slip" when you walk, to allow correct foot movement. It's a little strange at first, but I've gotten used to it, and my feet love them! However, you do need to make sure you're getting a proper fit overall, or your foot will tend to slide a lot in the footbed, and negate any benefit you might otherwise get.

Very cute, very comfy but they run about a half size too small so I have to return for a larger size.

I wear a 5 1/2 so I have some space between my heel and the back of the shoe. However, it feels fine. I can wear them all day at work without my feet hurting. I've gotten a lot of compliments on this shoe and want to know where I got them. I got the open heel one also and it feels great, too. I just don't wear a 3" heel too often and it takes a while to get used to.

Love this shoe! Comfortable and chunky stylish. Usually wear a size 8W to 8.5M. The size39 (7.5-8M) was a perfect fit. The back slips a bit but I have worn these all day without discomfort or any problems. Dansko shoes are well made and this is more stylish than most of their shoes. I get compliments on them all the time! I have the black and am thinking about ordering the brown. Love Zappos!

The Ryder is the perfect bad girl shoe for the high heel impaired! You will look hot in this shoe while still experiencing the classic comfort of the Dansko brand. Sizing is perfect. I ordered a 38 and I wear a 7.5 shoe. Arch hit perfectly. Looks incredible with pants and skirts.

Every time I wear these I get compliments and people are dying to know where I got them, who they're by, etc. People are absolutely shocked to learn they are Dansko. Like any other Dansko they make your feet feel great. I've worn these on all day shopping sprees, sightseeing trips and to "standing room only" events with out a problem. They do have the the 1st wear break in. If you've worn Dansko before, you're likely familiar with the arch ache the 1st time you wear them. These do that too, but only happens on the 1st wear. Get them, you'll love them!

These shoes are so cool! I've been wearing Dansko clogs for years on the weekends, and due to recent knee issues, I now have to wear them to work as well, so I wanted to upgrade the style points a bit. These totally fit the bill! They're very comfortable too. They do slip off the heels a bit, but Danskos are made to do that.

I love these! They are my first pair of Danskos and I could not be happier. I was told some time ago by my podiatrist that I need shoes with more arch support, and I have been eyeing Danskos for some time, but couldn't find a pair that I thought suited my style (I'm 29 yrs old, have lived in San Fran, London, etc., and usually dress between classic and chic). I do have wide feet (which is a bummer since I love style and shoes). I do love these though for the comfort and the style. The heel is a bit clunkier than I would normally wear, but I am still very pleased with these. I usually wear a size 8 or 38 - ordered this size and it fit well (a little slippage in the heel, but that is normal for my triangular shaped feet).

These shoes are great. Nice looking, comfortable, perfection. My only complaint is that they seem to run a little large, especially if you won\'t be wearing socks with them.

I am a size 8. I ordered a 39. There was room in the toe. I think they fit comfortably with some room. These are my favorite comfort shoes. I wear them for work and even on the weekends with some jeans when I do not feel like wearing heels. I am almost giving up heels with these shoes. I will definitely shop for another similar pair. You will not regret these. You get lots of compliments on how cute and different these clogs are.

I walked around in this shoe for a couple days feeling a bit unsure that I could go 8 hours standing in them...I am a teacher. I was pleasantly surprised at how comfortable these are. The rocker bottom keeps the pressure off the ball of my foot. I love these with pants and jeans! I have very slender legs so I will probably never wear these with skirts, but I love them just the same!

These shoes are cute and I have gotten several compliments on them. There are a couple of cons; they make a lot of noise when you walk (the wooden sole makes a clunking sound) and after a couple of hours straight wearing them my feet hurt. I wear them to work and it is no problem because I am not standing the whole time. Looks wise I really like them.

I wear a size 40 normally and have wide feet. I bought a 39, and wore them today for over 8 hours for a work shift and I think they are excellent. I wore cushioned socks and tightened the side snap because they were loose on my heel. I really love these and think they are beautiful and practical. They do run big, so get a smaller size than you normally would. They aren't as comfortable as a pair of slippers, but I think once I break them in a bit more, they will be pretty close.

This shoe ran about a half size large for me and kept sliding off of the heel. I was going to try a size smaller to see if it helped but they were out of a smaller size.

I am a 8 1/2 and it said to order a 39 so I did. Way too big for me. Had to return. I did think the shoe was cute in person, but I was a little dissapointed at the leather. I know that all real leather will have some flaws, but I noticed a several places where the leather was pinched or bubbled up. The shoe was comfortable, but it was hard to really tell when it's far too big. I will be ordering another Dansko shoe, but I think I will try the clogs instead in a patent leather instead.

First, I rate these shoes 5 stars for style because, Wow, they are great with jeans, skirts, anything, and they are 'in' without being overtly trendy. I love Dansko clogs, and this is not a Dansko clog. The sole is rigid and clunky. The fit is very different, and when I first got them, I was quite discouraged because my heels were slipping terribly. I bought my usual Dansko size - 41 - and these were true to size, but I'm narrow through the foot, and definitely in the heel. It wasn't working to have the usual Dansko clog loose fit. I bought both a heel pad and a pad for the ball of the foot, and now they fit great and are comfortable all day. I guess I just liked them so much, I wanted to make it work. Try them, and luckily with Zappos free returns, you can regretfully, sadly send them back if they just don't work for you.

I have been eyeing these for months, and finally purchased them, but now they're going back...so sad! They felt comfortable at first, but after a few hours of light indoor wear my feet were actually sore! They they felt like wearing heels! Not horrible heels, but not that Ahhh...comfort feeling I expected from Danskos. Also the heel strap rubbed the back of my foot in an uncomfortable way. These are super cute, though. Would be great with skinny or boot-cut jeans, or tights + skirt combo. I just did not think they would become a go-to shoe because the comfort wasn't there. Felt true to length and a bit narrow (and I do have narrow feet). I am going to try the Frye Clara studded clog that has a similar style, but less height.

Great looking shoe! I do like it even if it is not the most comfortable shoe I've ever worn...especially for Dansko, which has the reputation for the being the ultimate in comfort. Nevertheless, I am not sorry I got the shoes and I will wear them proudly...just not shopping!

I love these shoes but they seem to run a bit big. I've had trouble with them slipping up in the back - even after I've tightened the strap and added heel slips in the back.

I have had these shoes for a couple of weeks; they are so cute. Not as comfortable as the Professional, but more than other shoes like this. They are cute with pants, dresses or jeans. Would not walk all day in them.

As a former heel junkie (who has been forced to quit due to bad feet), these are so refreshing in the world of comfort shoes. The arch support is terrific and keeps your foot from sliding down to squish your toes and putting all of the strain on the ball of your foot. Also the front is wide enough for my wider than normal feet; and the heel slippage is supposed to be intentional, so doesn't affect the fit (where it's usually pertinent to a good fit in other makes). Understandably, not all shoes fit all feet. Mine are sort of duck-like: wide in the front with a narrower heel. I need arch support due to a neuroma and plantar fasciitis -- these deliver well (for a heel). They're not going to be as comfortable as a cushioned clog, but they still feel better than my Ugg clogs (which kill me after a couple of hours). One thing: a rivet came off after one day of wearing; I called Zappos and got the usual incredible service. They're sending me another pair, no charge (hooray and wow!). I do hope this doesn't happen again, or I'll be stuck with a shoe without a rivet. Didn't see that this was a problem on other reviews, so maybe mine was a fluke.

I love how these shoes look! The fact that they have a closed-back were an added draw for me. However, they are too big and I had to return them. Also, because they have a wooden heel and frame, they are stiff when walking on hard surfaces.
