This is my third pair of Keen's. I've loved the first two pairs, boots and another pair of shoes because they were so comfortable. It's as if they were custom made to fit me. Unfortunately, the sides of these shoes are too stiff and hit the sides of my feet just below the ankle bone. I believe they'll be fine after a little time to get them broken in. But truth be told, I probably should have returned this pair for a different one when I first tried them on.

Really uncomfortable for me...the lack of padding in the back cuts into my achilles heel. Also they seemed a bit hard to tie and pull tight. I'll go back to the Keen Austin...those things rock!

Excellent arch support and true to size. This might be because it is a lace-up.

I purchased the Alki for a comfortable fit reasonably light town shoe for travel and local use. This shoe served me well on a recent trip. I look forward to using in for casual wear. I did not need to size up or down as is often the case with Keen.

I have been buying Keen shoes for years and this is the first pair that I have had to return. The problem is that the heel is very stiff and thin with no padding to speak of. It caused persistent pain in my right heel, which I believe was from pressing the gas pedal in the car. I figured the shoes just needed to break in but after several months I have seen no indication that they will get any more comfortable. On another note, I tried these on in a local store before buying and found, as others have pointed out here, that the shoes do run about half a size too big.

This is shoe that almost launched a thousand ships (or purchase) originally bought this for a backpacking trip around Africa, wanted off road, but not monster truck off road, they are so great I bought all my family a set of keens and set of sandals (10 sets in all!) from below freezing up to 90 degrees these perform better than any other shoe I own, my only regret is I can't afford to throw out the rest of wardrobe and replace with Keen shoes!

Basically this shoe is all I wear now, except my Keen flip flops. For years I been stuffing my feet into uncomfortable shoes. I now made my dad buy a set, and my wife, three boys all have Keen.

Have had these for about a month now, and thought I would post a review. First off, this is my first pair of Keens, and frankly I bought these to see how the brand fit, and to have something that provided a little more style and support than tennis shoes for everyday wear. I have found them to fit very well. I have a large flat foot - size 14 - and finding good shoes at a reasonable price can be a challenge. The footbox is very generous, and the shoe does a great job of holding my heel in place so it doesn't move. Taking long walks or being on my feet for several hours at a time has not been an issue with these -- so far very comfortable. The lace up design helps to get a good snug fit. As far as materials and construction go, the leather has been durable to date, and the leather lining in the shoe is very nice. I like the over molded toe design, and am very curious as to the longevity of the adhesive that holds it all together. I have had other shoes (not keen) where the adhesive in this high stress area of the toe failed and the shoe pulled away from the sole. All in all, so far I am very pleased with these and will definitely consider other Keen shoes.

The shoes are very comfortable, look good, and appear to be well built. Unfortunately they do not breathe well, so after a few hours of wearing my feet are warm and damp. I have never had this problem with other shoes including others made by Keen.

I had 5 other pairs of Keens before I ordered these, and they were always true to size. This Akili Lace model was not true to size - my feet were swimming in them and it only took me one walk down the hallway in my house to know they would not work. I wish they would have worked because I liked the style. I'm still a Keen fan, and hopefully my next pairs will fit true to size.
