I loved the style of this over the knee boot. It was exactly what I was looking for in a casual flat heeled boot! It's a little long and I could have used size 8 instead of 8 1/2 but I wanted to be comfortable so I went with the half size larger! Overall it's a nice boot.

I am 5'4" and 110 pounds (slender) and the boots are fitted over skinny jeans. They hit about 1" above the knee cap and for me they are a half size big, so I ordered a 5 1/2 instead of my usual 6. If you are in between sizes like me, you should definitely order down half a size. I found the front of the foot to be fitted when wearing sports socks and the heel to be loose (moving side to side), but not uncomfortably loose. The leather is good quality and is grainy and feels smooth, thick and very durable. It's not as soft or smooth as napa leather; this is more rigid and structured. The bottom sole is leather, which can be slippery, so I would recommend putting rubber soles for extra traction. Overall, it's a very nice riding boot.

I hemmed and hawed about these boots and finally bought them. They took a few days to break in, especially around the ankles. It seemed like the zipper folded in right by my ankle bone and irritated it. I wore some smart wool socks and did not notice it as much. I ordered a 9, which is what I normally wear in shoes. I advise breaking them in with a thick sock. Looks wise, they are awesome. They are fabulous with leggings, which is what I bought them for. Once I broke them in, they have been quite comfortable. Glad I bought them and hope they will last a long time!

Just recieved them in the mail and loved the style but were super tight. These boots are for girls with skinny calves.

Too shiny. Also made ankles appear like cankles. Leather not as soft as expected. No traction on the bottom. True to size otherwise.

Ehh, too shiny and leather did not feel so soft as expected, not my style thus not worth spending this much for these boots. For those still interested in the fit, my calf circumference is 13" and I could comfortably wear knit leggings underneath, but felt the boots were too baggy around the ankle (re: cankles). I am almost 5'2" and the boot came about 2 inches above my knee.

I'm a long time Frye buyer, and I've been looking for a good quality, over-the-knee boot with a cuff. I wanted to see what Frye had in stock as they will always be my go to brand. What initially appealed to me was the length of the boot, which is a couple of inches taller than their usual 15/16 inch shaft boots, so when I saw these on sale I knew I had to give them a go. It's amazing how pictures just don't do certain Fryes justice. The exceptional quality of these Shirleys cannot be seen in pictures. The leather is so rich, soft and luxurious. Good quality leather with a good fit/feel is extremely important. It is not stiff or hard like some other Fryes (the Jane Cuff was a disappointment in this regard), so when I popped them on (I got my usual size (8.5) and my foot slipped right in and immediately felt comfortable) and did up the small inside zip I could not believe how instantly fabulous they felt. Fitting in all the right places without being tight, long without being OTT, simple and elegant without being boring. What surprised me and pleased me most is that even though it is a very long boot, the fit was amazing. I think it would be hard to create this kind of quality fit/feel with this expanse of leather but these just do not disappoint. I didn't want to take them off. The leather is so soft and so comfortable I actually couldn't even feel them on. You have to try these on to believe them. An excellent design by Frye. The foot felt wonderful, was worth the price. I'll also note that at the same time I received these I also received the Jane Cuffs and Campus OTK. These two I'm sending back (even if I had not gotten the Shirleys I would still send them back). The Jane Cuffs were a poor fit in the shaft and the Campus OTK was just too boxy to be funky.

Taupe and black arrived today - I love them. They are just perfect. The taupe look really sexy with a skirt because they are basically a nude color. Probably need to wear with a really tight jean or jegging as they are quite snug around the calf but they are just perfect. So glad I ordered two colors.

These are wonderful and the color is beautiful. These boots fit just above the knee and look great. I bought the black ones, as well. I have checked with other over-the-knee, high quality boots and these are much less expensive. They look great with leggings and skirts. I love love love them.

Loved the boots! Great quality you would expect from Frye. I ordered in my regular size and the length was fine. My feet are wide so the M width was snug but the leather is soft and will likely stretch.

Amazing boot. Stylish and comfortable. The leather is soft and beautiful. The inside zipper makes it easier to get these boots on and off. Looks good with the cuff up or down.

I purchased these boots in black and now want them in brown; they are very comfortable and versatile. Flipped up, they are the new over the knee style, but flipped down, just a beautiful tall boot. Great with jeans, leggings, even skirts. Because the heel is flat, the tall, over the knee look is easier to pull off. Love these boots. Such a great purchase! Be sure to order 1/2 size smaller because they run generously.

These are lovely and well made. However, they are not the boots for those of us with high insteps. So sad, really. We look great in pumps but have such a hard time finding boots.

These boots are amazing. I bought a pair in black and it was a perfect fit. I'm a 6.5 with fairly wide feet and usually have a problem with the sides of shoes being too tight. The only complaint I had was the zippers were so hard to zip up and down. I don't know if this was just the pair that I got or if they are like this in general, but I literally spent 5 minutes tugging at the zipper to try to get it to unzip. However, after I zipped them down once they were a little easier to zip up and down after that. I would definitely recommend these boots nonetheless. They are incredibly warm, so if you live somewhere where it snows or gets really cold, I think these boots would be perfect for you!

I originally ordered an 8.5, but like the other reviewers said, these boots run large. I sent them back, and ordered a 7.5 (thank you Zappos for the quick return on the refund!). Unfortunately, I had to send them back. I measured my calf at its fullest, and it's 16". I thought that I would be able to wear a boot with a 15.5" circumference, but I was wrong. These boots are great quality boots, and are made of a very dual-lined thick leather. I took them to the cobbler in hopes that he would be able to stretch them out, but with one look, he said that he wouldn't be able to stretch them. Thankfully, I found and ordered the over-the-knee Harley Davidson Nikki boots from here, and they were amazing! And only for a great price! I'm not trying to dissuade anyone from ordering the Frye boots, because they are beautiful boots, but they just weren't the ones for me.

The boot fit well, and was clearly well made. It just didn't fit quite the way I wanted, so I'll be sending it back. I'm looking for a riding boot that doesn't hug the calf at the top, and this one did. Guess I'll keep looking!

Beautiful leather and excellent quality, but the boots fit wide in the heel and runs on the large side. Still looking for the perfect boot.

Nice quality boot. I ordered my normal 6.5 and found the toe area very tight yet the heel slipped and was really big on me. Unfortunately the search continues and i will be returning these. First time using Zappos but not the last!

Gorgeous, love the color (beige) but seems to run a little large. I am usually a consistent 8M but these might need a 7.5. We will see.

These were so hard to put on! It was almost a bit painful to get these on and I didn't like the look of them folded down. I am 5'3" with my legs being longer in comparison to the rest of my body. When folded down, the tops just pass my knees.

I absolutely loved these boots and was really bummed that I couldn't keep them! I am 5'4 and they were just slightly too tall for me. The leather is gorgeous, supple and smelled wonderful. They were also extremely comfortable to wear - with the one exception of them being a bit too tall. Alas, they went back but thanks to Zappos' wonderful return policy I am trying other styles of Frye boots. If you're taller than 5'4 or have long legs then you won't be disappointed with these boots!

They look amazing. I look amazing in them. My husband had to carry me to the car after walking in them one hour. I still wear them, but only to places where I'll be sitting down a lot or it won't be a long trip. Very sad, but they cause a serious foot cramp and I can't help but limp after a while.

I usually wear size 9, but based on previous reviews, I bought 8.5. The boots fit, but with socks and jeans tucked in, they fit very tight; I should have ordered my normal size. If you intend to wear these boots with only tights, then go ahead and order 1/2 smaller, but if you're thinking about wearing socks, then order your usual size. This is my first pair of Frye boots, but I'm not very impressed in terms of comfort. There is absolutely no arch support. In comparison to other "comfort" driven brands like Born and Gentle Souls, these are like walking on a flat wooden floor. Not comfortable AT ALL. I love the soft leather and the way they look on, but unfortunately, I'm going to have to return them because if you can't walk in them, boots are that useful in Manhattan.

Nice well-constructed boot and I can see why someone might like these especially if you want a more substantial western style boot. They run small, however, and it was ultimately not the style I was looking for.

Awesome fit - I was worried OTK would look "too much" on me (I'm only 5'2"), but these are perfect! I can't wait for cooler weather so I can wear them!
