I usually wear an 8.5 W or 9 m now. Feet have gotten bigger over the years. I have tried to find a good saddle shoe and this one comes close. I bought a 9 w and it is pretty comfortable except for the tongue on the shoe. It is very stiff, and too long. I'm going to take it to my cobbler and have him trim it back so it is comfy. The sides and back were pretty stiff, and knowing if I take a little hammer to the side while it is supported it softened the leather. Worked nicely and the back was no longer stiff. (learned that trick from my cobbler too). This is the best saddle shoe I have found so far and the price was great. Got compliments on them when I wore them.

based on reviews i thought this would fit more comfortably than Bass version, and it was a wider toe box... however, i think the problem for me is the two leathers overlap where my bunion is located on the right foot, so it presses into the top of my foot in an uncomfortable place. Very disappointing - i have been looking for a comfy pair like this for a long time.

Whenever a shoe is made in China, I buy a half-size larger. I usually wear a US 6.5 so I got a 7 in these. There is enough room to wear my thickest Abeo crew socks in it. They look a lot like the saddle shoes, I wore growing up, except the ones I wore in the '50s and '60s had a leather sole. These would be perfect if there was a decent insole. There is something about the sole construction that is lacking. You can feel wear the heel meets the sole and it is quite bothersome. I put some good Spenco insoles inside, but, sadly, they are too thick and you can't wear socks with them, so I switched to a thinner Dr. Scholl's half insert, with which I can at least wear a thin sock. It really shouldn't be this hard to find a comfortable saddle shoe, but it is. Comfort is the main reason I buy shoes anyway. If you want to look good, these are great, but you will have to work to make them feel as good as they look.

These shoes are super cute. Even cuter than in the picture! Unfortunately, the only word to describe the fit is OUCH! They look deceptively wide and roomy, even in person, but are actually surprisingly narrow and run small... I am a small 7.5, and go down to 7 when only whole sizes are available, but these 7.5s were a squeeze. The leather is extremely stiff and unyielding, to boot, and the moment I got them on my feet I knew that if I walked more than a few steps they'd tear my feet apart. Bummer.

Way too small. I ordered a 9.5W. After they came, it seems I will need a 10.5. I have never worn a 10.5 in any other shoe.

I bought these saddle shoes for a friend who saw my pair and wanted some for herself. She loves them and I am excited that they seem to be of good quality for the price.

I was surprised that this shoe was so well constructed. In particular, I was surprised to find dedicated arch support, a + for someone with a high arch. I did find the shoe did rub against my outside ankle.bone. I fixed this with an old orthotics insert which I sacrificed to cut the heel portion to elevate my heel a fraction of an inch and alleviate this problem. In truth breaking in the shoes may have taken care of this issue but I wanted a quick fix. Overall, I must say I am so pleased with the style, comfort, quality of this shoe, I have ordered a second identical pair within less than 24 hours after receipt of the first pair. I was impressed with how quickly they seemed to "break in". I have been searching for these shoes for some time; delighted to find a Navy/white option. Hopefully the color options will expand. I would love to have a pair in brown/white in a ladies 6M (as long as Narrow is not an option. I highly recommend this shoe!

Love these shoes! Still breaking them in, but I know they will be very comfortable. Ordered bobby sox to go with them. Everyone is envious!

So fun and classic. I plan on wearing these with jeans, shorts and dresses. Nice alternative to a Doc Marten.

Fite great! I am glad I went with an 8. I have been a 7.5 most of my life but feel like an 8 is better now that I am older AND i want to wear a thicker sock with these. Nice sturdy sole and upper. Hopefully the will break in nicely. Looks fantastic! Very classic. WAYYYYYY better than the other brand available. Unfortunately they are made in a country I try not to buy things from.

The fit and size were perfect and true to size. I have been looking for "real" saddle oxford shoes for a long time and finally found them here. These shoes are perfect. Totally comfortable and did not need any breaking in at all.

The fit and size were true exactly, perfectly. I have been searching for old-fashioned saddle oxfords sewn with high instep like the 60's for a long time. These are exactly like I've been searching for. The sole is the perfect (copper) color too. Now the search is on for old-fashioned penny loafers with a high instep. The saddle oxfords are great--love wearing them--so comfortable.

Run extremely small

Love my saddle shoes! I have been wanting a pair like this for ages. Grew up wearing them until about high school when getting the leather ones became a bit more difficult to find, and a bit pricey for us. Had tried several of the cheap versions, but always ended up disappointed as they were too narrow and too pointed toe. These are perfect! Of course they are still stiff, but I know over time that leather will become a bit more pliable and fitted to my feet. I love how these give me that solid foundation and help me to keep my balance better because of it. For those that said a wide in a larger shoe size looked weird, I do not find that at all. I bought a 9 Wide.. and they do not look strange or bulky at the toe.

Well made, substantial leather shoes just like when I was in grade school. Very nostalgic and camp. Love the look!

I absolutely LOVE these shoes. I dress up vintage and these are my go to shoes. I get lots of compliments on these shoes. LOVE LOVE LOVE!!! Buy them, you won't be sorry!

They are great saddle oxfords- love them! Only downside is the heel opening- curves inward and rubs against Achilles.

I love these shoes! I ordered a size 9 (my usual) and it was a bit too tight, and Zappos kindly issued me an exchange for a 9 1/2 and they're fantastic. These are highly supportive, and have great traction with a fairly cushy sole. I have a couple of broken toes from the past, and this shoe prevents me from getting a toe stub or another mishap. These have broken in beautifully, and they have become my 'go to' shoe! I receive lots of compliments on these shoes, and I am glad I took the chance. I rediscovered an old favorite. Thank you, Zappos!

True to size and Loved them, but to high at the ankle and dug into the bone on all 4 sides. Had to return

Great saddles!! I had a pair of Bass that didn’t come close to the quality of these shoes. Very well made. A little stiff at first but most leather shoes are. I am very pleased!!

My daughter loved the shoes and she wore them for 2 years am here to biy her one more pair as she grew bigger

I wore these in school. They take a bit to break in because they're made well. I bought them again 20 years later because they go well w/ jeans and sweaters?? feeling nostalgic. I wear them to work alot and always get compliments.

I have had so many folks come up to me and tell me they used to wear these in high school. My reply is that school is in session so buy yourself these shoes! We all are in our seventies!!!
